3D CGI, to make a complete and clean work is very time consuming, need a lot of work ( 3D is underated on the work market, a true 3D artist have to mobilize a LOT of knowledge from everywhere, about material, animation, etc... )
That why a basic workspace you need a main animator, a person who modelize, someone on materials/textures/design and another on render parameters, compositing, photography; lighting etc... Had my own tumblr, ripped models myself instead of using the same ones as everyone and treat them in 3dsmax.

I ripped, adjusted their bones, "nudify" them, create new textures and ported them for SFM. Unreal Engine ones were the easiest. It took some time, specially because I was ripping models, props, small environments and other graphics.

Of course that was just a hobby back in the day, I wasnt even thinking of making money out of it. Now, thanks to that I work as a freelance for UE4.

Most of the ones who have patreons and all that dont even know how to use blender or 3dsmax, they just produce the more the better.
