I might as well use this thread.

Nomodeler here, I've been checking some ripped models from video games hoping to better understand how to do edge loops and stuff.

I've just come to realize boobs in (semi-)naked models tend to have circular loops, while asses are always modeled from a more regular quad grid like most of the model. Why is this?

because you need more resolution to capture the same shape of the boob using a regular quaded shape so the circles are more efficient, also easier to animate,

Keep in mind the kind of deformations they will undergo. It looks better if things get stretched perpendicularly to an edge.

Buts are mostly stretched vertically uas the leg is raised, so edgeflow in that direction is good. Boobs end up being animated bouncing around in any direction, so there is only some stretching from the edge in, and not so much in the center, so you want a bunch of circles from center in.

Take a look at UV weights of different bones on the butt. They will probably be aligned so that a horizontal line has similar weights, and fading from top to bottom.
