Anybody ever seen an alternative to Patreon? This orange logo

Also before anyone says anything I posted this on 3DCG because it's for my 3D project and I'm 100% sure any kind of info on this subject would interest other browsers on this board.

Patreon is fucking stupid. Paypal has a direct payment link. There's google wallet too. Bitcoin if you do that shit.

Not saying you can't do this stuff with other services, Patreon just joins them all together in one place. One major beef I have with Patreon pledges though, is when the author of an artwork puts a banner to advertise his page *right* in the image instead of the description or similar. When you're shilling for yourself right on your artwork, it kinda takes away from the art part of it.

It's easy to personify big companies into this singular identity that is "evil" or "good".

In reality, it's a bunch of people with their own ideas and morales working for a common function: maintaining and running Patreon as a whole.

Everyone wants everyone to be held accountable. To live by morales that may come as common sense to most of us. But businesses have exploded in sizes and they no longer carry the luxury of choosing employees that fit in with their ideas.

The world isn't a "bad" or "good" place. It's just a place.

Not really. He's already covered himself by putting 18+ up front and center. Past any legal issues, it's the patrons that have to stop giving Mantis or any other creator pledges for him to go away.

The only way that would feasibly happen is if the creator stops uploading content altogether or creates some sort of drama towards his patrons. So it would feasibly never happen. Especially to a guy who's making 5k a month.

Do you think if I did NSFW stuff as good as Dylan Ekren I would be able to make money off patreon.

I pretty much gave up character art as it seems like a dead end. I studied a lot of anatomy took courses from the best anatomy person.

The problem is there seems to be no money. I'm currently learning how to texture in substance painter and designer, so it not like I'm doing nothing that would help.

I'm here, in a cubical, in a city I can barely afford because that's where the "real" jobs are. I'm here busting my ass for someone else, to make them richer, dealing with pieces of shit daily for 60 hours a week. I'm here getting fat, taking medication for work related anxiety (gf of four years dumped me accordingly because we're "going separate paths in life"), and we have our quarterly "Review" (or Guillotine as we like to call it) coming up. I've built a fucking program from the ground up, dealt with dumb ass team-members who shirk work (but "No excuses Anon, it's YOUR responsibility"), and the fact is my Boomer boss has never particularly liked me.
Wages are stagnant, costs keep increasing, getting pushed further to the fringes, got denied a raise and then given a warning for "lack of output", I'm going to have to move in to a share house with five other people two hours away from work to make ends meet and repay my college debt.
