One work by Jesse Kanda... What software does he use in your opinion?
>>556525
This is like asking which brand of brush an artist used for a painting. If you're gonna advertise your crap don't try to hide it with a stupid question.
>>556526
Like... What? :G
>>556527
you can do this in any 3d software
>>556525
Seems like some shit done by someone that doesn't really give a shit about 3d as a medium, and more of a way to throw something together and look good with default settings.
So, C4D most likely.
I see it used by a ton of people that arent interested in technical aspects of 3d, uv, topology, sculpting, and just more making shit with no real purpose.
That's not bad, and some people make good shit, but still.
>>556525
very funny anon.
what the fuck i am looking at anyway?
>>556528
post a tutorial or something. Which software is setup the easiest for this kinda of stuff?
>>556525
3 trying to dygest modern art
kekest of keks
>>556556
maybe C4D? but it costs money, alot i bet.
maybe blender? but you would need lengthy tutorials on just setting up cycles.
so C4D that is. its pretty easy from what i heard.
lol at people hating on kanda...
here anon:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G4gCfRS29g
>>556587
hahah didn't expect to find all this hate here.
I know this video, but it's about how he work in animation, using AE; I wonder what he use for sculpting.
I know C4D guys, and of course you can sculpt with it but I don't think is so much sculpting oriented, don't you agree?
>>556606
It´s zbrush, used ontop of a stock model with wrong settings, bad taste and even worse sense of aesthetics.
Can´t model, draw or animate? Do a pile of shit and call it art.
It´s trolling in it´s stinkiest essence. Now go die in a fire.
>>556525
>Jesse Kanda
1/10, made me google.
It´s a Tranny faggot who works at some shitty nightclub somewhere in euroderp.
He photoshops deformed zbrush models and call it art. Now that you all know, delete thread.
>>556613
Zbrush! That's what I was looking for!
Still can't understand why Kanda's Art is bad for this board, really... it's really hauting in my opinion... can you post some better artist? honestly curious, really! :)
>>556614
No, he's Arca, a musician whose graphic is made by Jesse Kanda.
>>556614
stop
>>556616
because on 3 and generally 3d community see things wirth different eye, Kanda is modern artist not 3d modeler, gamedev, digital painter these the general taste on this board. I don't want toinslut anyone, but generally people are close minded at the end, when they see his works, they imediately think, "anyone can inflate/deform meshes in zbrush" and they think that he does not deserve his position because of that,
>>556635
He does not deserve his position (whatever that means) because he is making shitty stuff and has the chutzpah to call it "art". The only people with a closed (or retarded) mind are those who think his work is actual art.
You don't have to be part of the 3d community to see through that shit, having eyes and taste is enough.
Dear trump voters aka morons from /pol/,
the OP did NOT ask wether Mr. Kanda is a good artist or not, nor if Kanda's gender, sexual orientation or lifestyle qualifies him of being an artist at all.
The OP merely wants to know what software has been used to make this art. Just a reminder. Bye!
>>556689
dude i'm with you. i've been chilling with these assholes for a minute. total fucking faggots. contrarian, pretentious, stubborn, elitist dickheads. they think everyone wants to "go pro" they're fucking cunts. no sense of humor. no sense of irony. easy to troll. i'm actually surprised this is still considered part of 4chan. it seems like they just sit and wait and stalk these threads all day.
btw OP: you can make that in zbrush or sculptris or any good modeling program. that's why these guys are being cunts about it. because they hate when normal people make good shit instead of one of their revenge of the nerds homies.
>>556689
>Bye!
feel free to never come back :^)
>>556689
Normal people hate you as well as /pol/. you are alone in this.
>>556733
I don't, you're just /pol/ in denial.
You're like 2008 Jontron before he got real shitty.
>>556742
Because you're a hypocritical SJWtard and you are hated by everyone and all the boards on 4chan.
>>556616
If we start posting better artist we would sit here all day/night until next month.
It would be easier to post worse artist, but who saves the images of super-bad artists?
Just go to any 3d related gallery and pick some images randomly and you find something better.
>>556685
what is your definition of art anyway?
he's done some music videos, and he's kinda known "modern artist",
I don't get what he does not deserve?
>>556749
I don't know this guy but his work looks indistinguishable from something a 10 year old did randomly. Based on this few works i wouldn't call him an artist, or i would have to call everyone an artist.
>>556758
yeah, of course, the guy who does vmusic videos of fucking bjork and FKA twigs... is a random 10yr old level faggot
just youtube: Jesse Kanda
3 is so full of shit, TY anon for keks
>>556685
You're obfuscating the amount of work he's putting in from aesthetic bias, He also has to do retopology to these sculpts to get them to be able to be rigged the right way for the mo-cap he uses to animate them. All his renders also lack any noise so they definitely took money and time to produce. Especially since he's using semi SSS materials that shit takes a while to get clean especially with his type of camera delegation. You clearly know less about the medium than Jesse Kanda.
>>556762
Can you read? I said i don't know this guy, and i did not google him, i don't care if he is famous or not, i just judge the images in this thread and they look like made by a 10 year old.
Go suck his cock somewhere else, you fucking dumb pseudo-celebrity whore.
>>556768
Yeah ok, got it, expensive and time intensive, retopo'd, noisefree, polished turds with semi SSS.
>>556788
And he's got more working coming in than you ...asshole.
>muh abstract meme
>fuck topology
>fuck anatomical knowledge
>fuck design or artistic vision
>Look guise i added displacement map to distorted human model, then threw some surface shaders on it
There is no skill or talent in this shit. These models are a mess being labelled as art.
>>556616
If somebody drew this it might have an ounce of merit
As a sculpt/3D model it is an insult to the medium.
Nothing in this image displays an ability to work with or understand 3DCG. it's just some pretentious hipster using 3D to make post modernist rubbish.
>>556613
>>556635
>>556689
>>556712
>>556749
OP here, thanks for your answers guys! :)
this thread has become sooo hilarious, can't believe people in 2017 still think art is only about technique LOOOOL
Take care! ;)
P.s.: OMG this one is so good, Jesse Kanda is Chris Cunningham of his generation! <3
>>556851
lol xD right ?;D
Type normally or fuck off
In era of free internet access anybody can make shit an upload it, and when everybody makes shit good luck with your turds floating onto the top
This is why the more the crappy modern art becomes popular there is a higher value yet again put on art which is technically amazing.
Go to art station and show me top pick and popular art that dosnt stand out in regard to ether composition, technical fidelity or anatomical perfection.
Its not technique that is valued, its mastery over an art form, over your style, no matter what form it takes, be it sculpting, drawing, or even more precise field like 3d architectural design or anatomy studies. Hell this applies to writing or even movie making.
You image shows no mastery in any field, just an ugly mess of awkward composition and overblown brightness and a hint of distracting eye catching nipples, which is really the only thing you eyes can set on.
This is how you make your style your own, This is art http://www.followtheblackrabbit.com/portfolio/.
>>556788
>pseudo-celebrity whore.
hahhaa I think I love you )) will you kiss me?
>>556851
yeah, hes good, but Cunningham of this gen? you are stretching too far, man. he's good, but he has flaws, not that original, his quality is not super, he's not nearly as good as Cunningham, at least for now. +his works are waaaay mainstreamy than Cunninghams
>>556853
the problem is, you are comparing totally different things, artstation is a place for digital/cgi art, this pist is not about that. it does not mean that it's 3d/cg just because zbrush is involved. you just don't understand what is likable in his works and it is not necessary to. not everyone should have same taste: I'm the guy above you, not op.
>>556858
Its made on a computer, its fucking digital. You taking the piss here?
>not everyone should have same taste:
Yeah, and some people eat actual shit. Tastes differ, but some people have a shit ( get it?) taste.
You can have any opinion you want, but if you cant argument for your opinion then its not worth listening to.
And just like not all opinions are equal so isnt art, there is good art and bad art.
Every retard who goes "its all subjective, skill dosnt matter" should keep his opinions and his crappy art to himself.
Levels of retardation in this thread are so high it could be used to harness free energy for whole human civilization.
Retards in this thread would stand in front of Mark Rothko painting and say "my 10 yeard old nephew could do that?!!?!?!?"
Just because something is called "Game Art" or someone is called "CGI Artist" doesn't actually mean they make art. 99.9% stuff on Artstation is derivative kitsch with zero artistic value. Sure, a lot of it took great set of skills to produce and took creator many years of perfecting those set of skills, but that fact alone doesn't give produced "art" artistic value.
>>556870
this
>>556525
looks like crap anyway. But that's a prerequsite to being called 'art'.
>just gonna leave this here
alan warburton -- spherical harmonics
vimeo.. /82085374
Thread is full of retards, sorry OP.
I don't think he uses Zbrush, as you can't really animate in it. I think he uses displacement maps (in combination with zbrushed models maybe).
Also's arca's music is pretty dope.
>>556853
Did you seriously compare some fantasy rabbit sculpts to jesse kanda?
lmao'ing at your taste, I bet you also collect concept art for fantasy games
>>557013
you typed a lot of words there bud
>>557000
>warburton concerning the piece (link to full interview in vimeo description)
"I think that in many ways, Spherical Harmonics almost sits stylistically at a halfway point between the glossy product displays of Oxford Street and the workhouse construction of Soho’s post production scene. It’s a fantasy under construction. It’s a play between glossy surface and behind-the-scenes complexity. It advertises beauty but undercuts that beauty in a way that suggests it’s unstable or subject to the whims of an invisible authorial force."
"There’s this idea that good CGI should disappear into the photographic image seamlessly… I think sometimes the complications of labour disappear with it."
"I think that CGI is incredibly important in many ways. As an ideological tool it is powerful, versatile, ubiquitous and (most importantly) it obscures its own origins. I’m pretty sure that anything powerful that is designed to be invisible should be made visible! That’s one of the reasons behind my distinction between artists who use CGI invisibly and those who show the seams."
"I think it’s the job of artists, writers and technologists to step outside this commercially-focused inexorable march of progress. We’re often the only people who take the time to experiment open-endedly with technologies and reflect on the unique historical moment we find ourselves in."
>>557011
>why address anything posted when i can just call everyone a retard?
That's a wrap guys. /thread
>>556525
God damn OP, it's been said in like the 4th fucking post but you're too high on your own fucking fumes from your shitstorm to realize it's the answer.
>>556532
Is right, you can tell by the render.
It's got that C4D look about it. It's hard to pinpoint, but when you see enough renders by fucks using it on Instagram you know it from looking.
And do you really think that anyone who does shit like this would be using an industry standard product? These types of people take the path of least resistance, C4D has a reputation for being pretty accessible for casuals.
