it's like 2d except you don't have to know how to draw, so it's 10x easier. You'll figure it out.

I work in maya
You can think of it like 2d but functionally it's more akin to stop motion. There are obvious workflow advantages over 2d but you need to polish the actual character animation to a much higher degree for it to not look like shit, because the naturalistic charm of 2d tends to hide animation flaws.
