I love modelling. I endure rigging. I loathe making texture maps.
What part of the whole process does /3/ find grinds them down?

Rigging. Facial rigging in particular.
>>550382
Weird part is I love drawing but damn I hate painting textures.

textures : FUCK NO
modeling Non Organic stuff (green organic stuff is okay ) : YES
i'm probably the opposite of the majority of /3/. I like rigging and animating, but I don't really like modeling or texturing.
retopo / making low-poly. I find texturing fun actually, especially with substance
rigging

Retopo can be tedious but I actually find it mentally stimulating. I use 3D Coat so depending on what it is that I've sculpted I often just use Autopo to go in and do the bulk of the grunt work and then go in afterwards and delete the messy geometry and manually fix things.
Texture painting I just don't enjoy at all.

Maybe I should give substance painter a try though. It might change my attitude towards textures.

I love rendering, lighting, shading and compositing. I think modelling and animation is alright and I hate rigging.

Animating. Modelling and texturing is fun.

waiting for art lead to come down, applying a 5 min fix and waiting another 2 hours.
I would´ve had the project fucking finished 2 days ago god damn it

I´ve used 3d coat once and its a stupid retarded pos program for everything. It cost me a week on a project. and I had to restart.
Now I just do
>lowpoly blockout, unwrap
>sculpt details without changing geometry
>bake
>SD/SP
>LODS
>submission.
If I could I would skip HP and baking, a lot of the time they´re a waste of time.
Shading, lighting, rendering. I like modeling but I'm just not too good at it.
I find weight painting really tedious and annoying

retopology.
its even holding me back in terms of progress because i just hate it so much.
i do love texturing, its relaxing
I like
-retopo is best for me I like it
-sculpting is not that great. I find it irritating at times.
-rigging it okay. some could be okay, the times is sucks.
-I hate texturing the most because I find myself lacking in it but I don't know where to start to become better.
Any advice on texturing.
I just use Blenders shit, and mange studio to clean it.

I don't know what you texture in, but I recommend watching Viscorbel's material series if you're looking for a hands-on, yet exhaustive introduction.
It's for Vray, but follows PBR principles so it's applicable for games too (it's basically the Spec/Gloss workflow). He mainly talks about basic material properties, as well as how to create various effects, but there's also a tutorial series on creating worn/damaged materials.
