3D scans are complete garbage mesh shit anyway.

You're not supposed to use the scan mesh, you're supposed to retopo it before using the scan.

Will Autodesk check if the name I give is enrolled at the institution I give?

Autodesk doesn't give a fuck about piracy (but they don't encourage it either of course), just like Microsoft they'd rather have some users steal their product rather than use their competitors
