I just got into 3d but I'm leaving for school soon and I want to continue doing it while I'm away.
Are there any laptops viable for 3d work?
every 3d work is different

Well I was thinking in terms of character and environment modeling, maya/max, zbrush, nothing too complicated yet but ideally something that could handle more complicated work down the line.

put 700$ aside then and buy a good asus

Damn son, what kind of games you runnin on that Vtech?
You got that spelling game?
Try to get something that has at least a 970/980m gtx, i5 or better processor, and 16gigs of ram (or the ability to expand to at least that).
Don't skimp on laptops ever, I'm not saying you have to spend thousands but cheap laptops are garbage.
If you get a laptop that meets those specs you'll be able to do a lot.
