If you're lacking any of the pieces in this package I'd make an account and grab these, torrents only cover about a third of the content in this. It's about 530Mb and the offer will probably disappear in a day or so.

Also you are not forced to use their install manager for retards if you're paranoid.

Me, I'm only interested in making sellable products for this and other figures and figured someone else might be too. I already have most of this shit.

No, you don't. Figures and hair are standardized to pointing to complete .obj files. Props can go either way but developers are STRONGLY encouraged not to leave the geometry in the .pp2 files and do like the figures and hair.

DS versions of course don't follow this because the all holy DSON format (DAZ Studio JSON) is where everything goes

I hate how Daz models look, it has nothing to do with hating Daz itself or that people make porn from it (I love porn), there is just something about the models (their faces maybe?) that is always just so disgusting.

Until the Genesis models, every Victoria and every character shipping with Poser 1-4 was sculpted by the same man, Chris Creek. I was told this by Dan Farr in person and I had to ask twice because I didn't believe it.

I get the feeling either Chris has never drawn women from life models, or he's another closeted Mormon who has a thing for trannies.

This is Dawn, the first figure he made for sale after leaving DAZ3D. Need I say more?

Oh, and we used to complain how unrealistic Michael 1's head looked. It turned out it was a 3D scan of Dan Farr's head. It was something to meet in person the face that's been in so much porn. For some reason he doesn't find this funny.

Why are feminine looking jaws so hard to make in 3d? You almost never see any good female characters, it's always either cartoonish pixar style faces or manjaw.
>>
>>478911
has nobody ever just taken the 2 pics needed, front and profile, and then just drew the jawline with single verts from there?

after that you could just save the default jawline for use as import into other models.
>>

You would probably be surprised by how few people actually use any sort of a standardized process like that these days.
>>
>>478912
>has nobody ever just taken the 2 pics needed, front and profile, and then just drew the jawline with single verts from there?
It never works there's some subtle curvature that is difficult to detect in front and side perspectives.

I tried making a few jaws based on tracing over photos of Japanese idols since they often have quite wide jaw lines but are still considered feminine looking. It didn't prove to be very usefull as the main issue was trying to determine the angles which the cheeks turn into the jawline and neck

Chris' models have very simplified head contours and while it's a good thing for being able to morph them into more realistic ones, he still doesn't get how somatotropin affects skull development in men (and doesn't in women).

Any tips for learning about female jaw anatomy? Whenever I try to study jaw anatomy for 3d I run into the issue of everything being based around male skulls. Then the of the tiny subset of information you can find on female jaws is usually from a medical perspective so they aren't concerned with aesthetics of the jaws they show.

It's the same with buying any 3d face scans, not many women to pick from and they are only average looking. If you're making a 3d characters you don't really want them to be less attractive than most photography models.

This is solid advice and exactly how it's done. The problem is that a prerequisite for following this advice is that you need to posses sculpting/drawing type skills to a high degree.
And if you had those skills nobody would have had to point out that you needed to look at the shape you wanted to replicate, because that would be completely fucking obvious to you.

People who ask this type of question invariably is looking for the simple way to make stuff without first having to learn anything.
To recap this was covered well by Archimedes of Syracuse who once commented on 3D meshes by famously stating "There is no royal road to geometry."

It seem's a little wasteful to me, people model decent looking eyes, noses and mouths without having high level scuplting or 2d drawing skills. The difference is there's many resources for the anatomy and topo of those areas. While jaws are treated as mysterious objects no one ever tries to explain or study.

Being able to sculpt a really good jaw isn't always going to be enough either, if I don't really know why it looks good it's difficult to retopo and animate.

I want to learn which jaw and cheek angles and curves influence human perception of a jaw being masculine or femine.

The corollary to that is that the more visible the mandible is because of sunken cheeks/heavily prominent cheekbones, the more attention the face is drawn to the shape of the jawbone. The softer the face is, the less attention is paid to this.

Seriously this stuff doesn't need to be taught, it just needs to be thought about when sculpting/drawing.

Here's Anna Paquin's head geometry before and after with the jawline rounded and the cheekbone-to-cheek contour smoothed out.

It's funny everyone complaining about the old Victoria figure having too masculine a face when studies have shown men are more attracted to women who have faces that are what would be considered more masculine than what we consider feminine and that most supermodels and actresses actually have faces with more masculine features (particularly jaw) than the general population.

Men are also more likely to marry a woman with more masculine features.

>It's funny everyone complaining about the old Victoria figure having too masculine a face

It was less "lol manface" than the combination of features that didn't belong together and Zygote/DAZ's routine habit of marketing pictures of her that were heavily dial morphed compensating against all of that.

V4's default face is a smooth mannequin's which is an ideal canvas to build characters from. It says something that one of the more necessary products for the Genesis 2 Female is the Victoria 4 compatibility pack – which DAZ didn't even make, they just sell it.
>>
>>479614

That's why I like the Genesis 1 figure. It's a great blank canvas figure that I can modify in 3Dcoat.

Die Tryings morph bundle is a must have for Genesis 1 and 2 figures. It's the only way to make Genesis 2 even slightly useful out of the box.
>>
>>479730
>Die Tryings morph bundle is a must have for Genesis 1 and 2 figures. It's the only way to make Genesis 2 even slightly useful out of the box.

Riddle me this, if Genesis figures have geografting why was it necessary to make gender specific meshes for G2?
>>
>>479738

So content providers could sell two sets of the same clothing and morphs. Plus the Genesis 1 figure was given way too much flexibility right out of the box with all sorts of body types and genders being able to be dialed in and a kid morph too.

Genesis 2 is almost useless unless you buy all those morphs all over again.

It also makes it slightly easier to design female clothing which is the biggest seller. Nothing that couldn't have been fixed by getting Sickle Yield's Rigging System.
>>
>>479738
It's even worse than that. The genesis 2 figures are the exact same mesh just one has only female morphs and one has only male. There are no genitals on either figure. You have to geography them like you did with the Genesis 1 figures.
>>
>>480069
>The genesis 2 figures are the exact same mesh just one has only female morphs and one has only male.

So I could create a head morph for one and it's still applicable to both, or are the body parts subdivided differently and I have to do FBMs just to make a nose bigger?

> There are no genitals on either figure

fucking mormons
>>
>>480231
No because while it is the same mesh there is no androgynous inbetween like there is on the Genesis 1 figure.

You could make a morph on the female mesh and transfer it to the male mesh, but it will transfer tits and all.

Also the geographed genitals for the Genesis figures will not work on any of the teen or child morphs, so if you try to dial in a little bit of a teen body on your figure you can kiss your dick cunt goodbye.
>>
>>480244
>You could make a morph on the female mesh and transfer it to the male mesh, but it will transfer tits and all.

>>
>>482281
>I wish there was a better selection of normal clothes

One of my biggest peeves with Poser and DS is that the default accessory content has gotten progressively less real-world for years, and the community of girls and neckbeards feed it.

The idea was that Poser could be used for creating practical instructional materials and to this day the faggot at NCR who makes animations for their self-checkout POS systems still uses the exact same P4 Casual Woman with the untextured clothing, skin and ponytail hairdo for every one of them.

DAZ3D had the opportunity to supply with new characters a default practical clothing pack and they have consistently muffed it because they have always treated the Poser market like animals to be milked and slaughtered, with no further interest beyond playing Barbie or making porn.

The new Israeli management that ousted the founders have no intention of altering that business model because it's catering to a wider group than departmental graphic artists.

Zygote, DAZ's origin company, was a general purpose mesh house trying to compete with TurboSquid. They split off DAZ as a Poser content-specific vendor, but the founders were both from the medical illustration wing and the content the first few years shows it.

Clothing is not fun to model and it was a bitch to properly UV unwrap in the early 2000s. It's still astonishing that it took Marvelous Designer to turn the paradigm on its head.
>>
>>482296
The community is fucked, when I do find a plain jeans or a T shirt the textures are mspaint level.

How are clothes generally made for each figure anyways?
>>

Go to >>481780 for better info on modeling clothes.

As I said, DAZ is not motivated to produce a standard set of real-world contemporary clothing for their characters, and frequently the vendors on DAZ, Renderosity, RDNA and others who do make clothing items do such an average job of texturing them that a handful of texture art vendors sell better texture sets for them (more realistic fabric textures / more plausible color schemes).

You'd think by now that the modelers would team up with those texture artists the way Tempesta3D is a team of modelers and texture artists.

But in general I agree that the most prolific clothing modelers are hyperfocused on slutwear, bimbo officewear, and lapels-and-winge-everywhere South Beach high couture. I think I've seen maybe two sets of actual hospital scrubs compared to the tons of naughty nurse costumes out there. Bimbo officewear annoys me the most because it's at least two-thirds of the office outfits, and irritatingly a lot of it is made by women who'd rather rake in the cash than risk making practical outfits.

The other issue is that rigging clothing with functioning fasteners is complicated work. The button has to be mounted to the (left) panel's placket but open/close morphs have to graph it sliding through the (right) panel's buttonholes while at the same time the panels balloon open naturally. I don't think the tutorial on making zippers covers rigging them to gradually lock/unlock the teeth as the slider moves up and down.

I also don't think any of those tutorials weight-map clothing, which is a pity. The potential is useful for more than just cheesecake (pic related).

Likewise, you're going to be hurting to find hair models that match half the women in your uni classes. The only reason we're not still using those plastic helmets that came with Poser 4 is because a Japanese Poser user named Kozaburo realized that the alpha map support Poser introduced to make keyhole sweaters possible (without cutting geometry) could also be applied to hair props made out of curved planes (and the vast majority of his work was freebies). Even DAZ didn't figure that out themselves. Poser now bundles a chunk of his hair props, but they're custom fit to the P6 characters. it's not much work to resize them for other figures but they were originally made for Posette and V1.

Interestingly while clothing's secondary texture market is useful (if not necessary), the secondary hair texture market is almost entirely shitty anime/punk colors because hair modelers already know and respect what a plausible palette is. I have almost never seen a hair color addon that was necessary to the original model. In the early days of DAZ selling transmapped hair, they tried to get away with only bundling limited color palettes and selling fuller ones as addons but users weren't amused.

>>
>>482623

Smith Micro: strenuously test software before release, ignore beta tester comments about bundled content ("Rex has four butts when his thighs bend enough"), glacial implementation of new features but dedicated to backwards and forwards compatibility for new figures

DAZ: strenuously test new figures, lazy beta testing of software, much faster implementation of useful new features but hasty choices about underlying libraries and engines that bite them in the ass, encourage splintering of product for maximized profits either to PAs or themselves

Both: good enough UIs, .obj-based/compatible meshes, script-based library items which permit users to hack new features into the application, bundled with content showing off new features, still pretend particles don't exist or would be useful, can be used with Reality middleware to Luxrender renderer

In the long run it's better for both companies to have competition but damn, it's a good thing Studio is freeware if they're making releases with basic UI stuff breaking. To give DAZ credit, they won't let a bug like this sit for a year without a patch.

Apologies for blogging.

DAZ finally makes a descent model and doesn't want Poser users to have it.

>>
>>484589
Because no one serious uses DAZ Studio and relies on using other programs for DAZ models.
>>
>>484589
If the people at DAZ believe customers will dump thousands of dollars and invested hard work in other software to use an incompatible model they are mistaken.
>>
>>484819
If Dan and Chris were still running the company there'd be hope but they were both ousted by the Israelis they sold a controlling share of the company to.

Dan doesn't even work in ANY capacity related to 3D any longer and that was his life's work. Chris is desperately hoping his tranny Dawn model will succeed V4 and no one's biting because 1. she's as hideous as V1 and V3 (both his work) and 2. no meaningful improvements based on new Poser features.

DAZ is aiming at a market that makes Poser users look hardcore in comparison and intentionally making as much splintering in content compatibility as they can get away with.

If you can fucking make all clothing fit all characters based on a figure, UV maps should follow suit, fullstop.

SM's run by monkeys but they are ridiculously dedicated to their userbase and backwards compatibility, perhaps because their product managers are now graduates of their userbase.
>>
>>484829

Daz Studio has also made their software compatible with Poser content and offered SM the resources to make Poser compatible with DS content but SM told them to go fuck themselves.

Biggest pain in the ass is the Collada and FBX import/export or proprietary so you're fucked trying to get their stuff to work with anything else using a standard file format.
>>
>>484908
Well there are probably professional squabbles between companies we're unaware of. All of this being speculation based on our preference.

As a long time fan and customer of Poser I can see the advantages, and disadvantages of both. Poser remains loyal to it's customer base which is a huge relief, but the problem has been the dissatisfaction with their default models either not having enough versatility or not looking as good as the Victorias.

If Poser had a model as well detail sculpted as V7 for example I doubt Poser users would still be so desperate for one. DAZ's attention to models has always bridged the gap which I wish both sides would consider the pros, and cons of.
Their competition had yielded better results for all of us the users, until now.
>>
>>484952
Poser's owners fucked up royally when they turned to their own userbase to start making new models in P5. DAZ3D was formed by people serving the medical illustration community whose standards for (non-facial) anatomy are at the very least physically measurably accurate. V1-4 (which realistically constitute 3 meshes since V2 was a service release to V1) were progressively more modeled off of actual humans, in some cases from 3D laser scans. V4 was made in Modo which was at the time fairly high end.

When SM artist Teyon is consistently showing off Zbrush monsters in the forums instead of human sculpts, it doesn't fill me with confidence that SM is going to bite the bullet and pay someone expert outside their company to provide the next gen model.

The dissatisfaction also comes from a comparatively weak QC process; Rex had rigging problems that were reported during beta and STILL shipped. Roxie's eyelashes were an optional smart prop until the user base made it clear they refused to use a figure this retardedly rigged.

I get that SM's trying to protect their bottom line but they have no choice except to pay for a pro job on the next figures they bundle – and expecting people to buy Miki instead was suicidally dumb.

>>484952
>If Poser had a model as well detail sculpted as V7 for example I doubt Poser users would still be so desperate for one.

This, precisely. V7 doesn't even look that substantially better than her predecessors in the expressions department. We don't want a DSON python script slowing down performance and limiting the number of characters, we want an outright conversion to native (which someone on one of the forums claims he's making a tutorial for). I'd rather lose some features / have them replaced by Poser-native versions than be stuck with V4's 2006-era rigging forever.
>>
>>484908
>Daz Studio has also made their software compatible with Poser content and offered SM the resources to make Poser compatible with DS content but SM told them to go fuck themselves.

DS reverse engineered Poser's formats and engine and put it in a piece of freeware, without licensing anything from Poser's owners. At the same time, DAZ went public that they'd enforce DMCA on reverse engineering DS's formats.

It's disingenuous to think that DAZ was offering SM their formats for free and Poser's owners have been smarter about not licensing something they could lose access to in the future.

Even if it had been offered for free with no strings attached, it would have made a relationship between DAZ and SM where SM was constantly having to keep up with support for someone else's engine and in effect forcing Poser to use DS's to the point that people would rationally ask why pay for Poser or produce Poser-native content if the two are the same thing? OS/2's dedication to Windows compatibility killed it because it provided no incentive to develop for OS/2.

I don't doubt that stubbornness and bitterness were involved here, but supporting DSON in the long run isn't as good for Poser as supporting Poser formats is for DS.

> standard file formats will make everything better

In 3D modeling, absolutely. In this type of application, the opposite is true. Most of the innovations in Poser came from users reverse engineering poserscript and hacking new features into it. A straight data format would have kept this from ever happening. Most library items are just wrapper scripts delivering data payloads using the same syntax to do so and the file extension is the biggest difference between most.
>>
>>484976
>At the same time, DAZ went public that they'd enforce DMCA on reverse engineering DS's formats.

Too bad for them patent law means their DMCA is not applicable. Reverse engineering falls under patent law, not Copyright. They can DMCA till the cows come home and it has no legal standing because it's not even covering the same intellectual property law.
>>
The only thing Poser has over Daz Studio is dynamic cloth. And the only reason Daz Studio doesn't have user editable dynamic cloth is because they signed a contract with Optitex granting Optitex exclusive rights to dynamic cloth support for Daz Studio and then Optitex said "Well thanks for signing this contract meaning you can't compete with us. Too bad for you the contract doesn't actually bind us into supporting your product. Enjoy your nothing, losers".

They told Daz they'd make a dynamic cloth system for Studio available to the users but nothing in the contract actually said they had to. So Daz won't be able to come out with their own dynamic cloth system until 2018 when the contract with Optitex expires.

If only someone were to do real 3d scans, including scans of bending parts - gluts, knees, elbow, shoulder, collar bone, neck, feet, and waist with twist that would be more than perfect.
Imagine not only body scans but accurate indention's where bikini straps press into muscle, and fat density.

I can only dream of the perfect model.
>>
>>485064
>Imagine not only body scans but accurate indention's where bikini straps press

I think that part's already been done, it just requires weight mapping and clothing run through dynamic clothiifying. The issue is volumetric compression where surrounding tissue bulges, which current cloth simulators don't bother with because body meshes aren't solid modeling.

>>485064
>scans of bending parts - gluts, knees, elbow, shoulder, collar bone, neck, feet, and waist with twist that would be more than perfect

You're not dreaming but you are asking for a model that has muscles and fat as well as bones, and an engine that won't choke on recalculating this. Right now the paradigm is "number crunch this in a fast computer and convert it to joint controlled morph targets for plebputers."

Also, Project Erogenesis.
>>
>>485056
The thing that fucked them on DMCA is leaving .daz format behind for DSON. DMCA's protection against reverse engineering file formats obligates the vendor to not produce an open format and DSON is completely open, being a dialect of JSON. It has no secrets as a file format to protect.

>>485057
>The only thing Poser has over Daz Studio is dynamic cloth

Let's turn this around. The only thing DS has over Poser is a better renderer and P11's getting a new renderer.

Poser's external scripting is Python, a matured runtime embedded in many software products and constantly improved upon.

DS's scripting is done in JavaScript, mainly because Trolltech offered it as a Qt-bound module. And then soon afterward Trolltech said, "this is shit and we're killing it," leaving DAZ to have to maintain the module on their own for the foreseeable future. They don't even have the brains to license and embed node.js instead.

DAZ got the shinier renderer and reinvented how conforming clothing works so that every piece of clothing fits every deformed version of a given character. To be honest, it's a good idea. Geografting is great if you're that guy who wants to turn the Genesis male into a minotaur and useless to the rest of us. Switchable UV maps has caused more trouble than it saved.

Ironically the supposedly better rigging system is immaterial because no one has an incentive to develop figures for it. only characters for the latest flavor of Genesis. Dawn is the only fig I can think of that was rigged specifically for DS, but that was because Hiveworks believed DAZ was going to use her as the Generation 5 female. When that didn't materialize and he quit DAZ, he rerigged her for Poser and sold both versions.

When someone writes a script to convert Genesis figures into Poser figures, wait for the tantrum from DAZ about this somehow violates their terms of use. That will tell you more about which company to back than anything else.
>>
Here's my internet prayer to Poser.

Oh Heavenly Poser, please bring us a model comparable to DAZ's V7 so that we may not have to completely abandon both Poser, and DAZ on to other 3d platforms less accessible to most 3d hobbyists.
May such a model have higher default meshing where it counts allowing maximum versatility, and customization.
Let us have it expertly made as humanly as possible leaving even professionals in the movie industry asking:“ Where did that model come from, it looks so amazingly accurate in every way? Such detail, and scope of the model leaves no need for any other.” so that no one is left feeling short changed.

Amen
>>

SM's working on something for Poser 11 but I wouldn't hold my breath given their track record and habit of drafting Renderosity faggots to do the modeling.

Pray that Project Erogenesis gets finished this year because it's pretty much what you and I are begging for (once the faces are dialed less caricatured). PE is high poly, has complex rigging and weight mapping, and looks fantastic.

>>

Octane was free2play for Poser users for 90 days in April. It's not that no one bothered, it's that the system requirements are heftier than average unless you want to spend several days rendering a scene.
In contrast Reality costs $30, middles both Poser and DS, and connects to an open source renderer app that can run across networks.

Not dissing Octane in the least or saying Luxrender is comparable, but Luxrender is *attainable*.

>there's some sort of seam that pops up below the collar bones

I don't see any geometry or texture seams (and V4 doesn't have any seams in that area), so if you're referring to those hard curves at the tops of the breasts, that comes from fucking with the dials too much. Post your dial settings.

BreastUp BreastDown BreastIn BreastOut BreastsHangForward BreastsFlatten and the Diameter/Cleavage dials are strictly for gravity/clothing simulation. Don't use them to shape boobs.

For shaping, start with BreastsSize BreastLarge BreastsImplant BreastsNatural BreastsDroop and BreastsPerk, then move on to learning magnets because you'll get better control and can apply them to clothing.

In theory you could paint out those bulges with the Morph tool (assuming you're using Poser 9 or later) but be warned that this won't work on joint zones (the areas have joint-controlled morphs with hidden magnet zones that override the Morph brushes).

At one end you have confused blankface like this, at the other some ghastly expression that dialed things too far, and the key is figuring out a subtle middle ground. Only gripe about the pose is the left foot floating off the floor for a figure this Amazonian.

The purple contacts/irises need to go. Even if the artist is trying to do something like convey mind control or mystical/alien species, this could be done much better. Clothing is conforming well and the boobs are doing a good job of acting like the clothing is holding them in tightly. The hair is in need or gravity adjustments and is visibly clipping the boob while floating over the shoulder. Highlights are virtually nonexistent which is very unusual considering how many hair vendors bake speculars into the textures.

If you're the artist, you inadvertently made a pretty good start at the Statue of Liberty's face here so save that. Which fig did you use?

That is just as creepy as the fucking 3D model.
Are you a serial rapist?
>>
>>490673
I'm not. Even though I've been sexually amoral since I was like 10, I've snapped out of it while on MDA. I've always known sexuality was for animals, but i've never been strong enough to "make it click" and embody that sentiment like I should have, until recently.
>>
>>490683
nigger what pretentious special snowflake bullshit are you on about?
>>
>>490572
The problem is MD2 produces an absolute shit mesh of random tris that won't subdivide properly. Even the current version of MD produces shit geometry of random quads . To get anything decent out of MD means retopoing it in Zbrush.

FYI, if you snagged this hero pack while it was free, there was a mistake in it DAZ has corrected.

The hero bundle mistakenly included pumps for V3; if you look in your purchases you'll see now the equivalent shoes for V4 in there now.

How does one get started with breast morphs?
I see some artists like 3dxart who have giant breasts on their characters yet they seem to deform against clothes or other body parts.
How is this done?

He's using clothing custom made to those sizes; note the absence of any stretching on detail like stitches here.

How do YOU get clothing to conform to unusual morphs? Assuming you're using Poser, the clothing probably already has the same morphs as the figure. If it doesn't and you're using Pro, there's a menu option to copy morphs from the figure to the clothes. If you don't have Pro, go to Scripts --> "Wardrobe Wizard Menu" and follow the instructions.

Alternately, learn to use magnets; it's not as fast but it does work on nice spherical zones like breasts and it's where most breast morphs can be done.

> I'm using DS

I don't use DS but it's my understanding that conforming clothes for it are designed to automatically match the figure's proportions and morphs.

Now post stuff.
>>
>>491712
>>491631
alternately, you could learn to modify objs in Zbrush, which is wut I've been doing for about a year now.

Its much easier then magnets, and works about the same way. Just export or find the obj for the cloth/prop you're using, export the body into an obj, load both in zbrush, and then brush to fit.

Word of warning tho, breasts that large are a BITCH to get right.

for the love of god tell me that deform represents being encased in a tight top because otherwise that's a monstrosity of a morph

I'm up piss creek without a paddle because I can't animate jack shit in DAZ and I never learned Maya. Try to find one facial animation video that used DAZ that isn't god awful

I've noticed the documentation for Daz is pretty barren and sometimes out of date.
Feels like I'm better off developing my skill in a real 3D app.
There's always SFM I guess.

All the tutorials I've seen have very little info on lighting besides the distant lights

The Daz new users board and commons board is good for help.

Hell, all the clothing skins, morphs, accessories are so expensive. even on "sale".
How the hell do they get away with this?

Just looking at some basic morphs and clothes for G2F is 80~ burger bucks

Everything in OP's post cost $0 when it was posted. Now it's $180.

>How the hell do they get away with this?

> they

Pretend for a moment that you're a content developer. You don't work for DAZ, Smith Micro, Renderosity or RuntimeDNA but you broker content through them.

Content development is time consuming work. It's not as simple as "model thing in Blender, export OBJ and paint it in ZBrush." Most of it is accessory content which means it has to be exhaustively tested on how it works with the figures it's designed for. The textures have to be good enough to render on higher end PBRs now that those are becoming the standard. You *will* end up learning how things like clothing work in your chosen platform. If you think these items are shat out over a weekend you're mistaken.

OK, so you've made your product, tested it yourself and packaged up the files for an installer or similar. Assuming your content portal chooses to work with you as a vendor, they are going to take no less than 40% of the asking price for the product.

If you're good enough and they accept the product without revisions the first time, it goes on sale and the relatively niche consumer base purchases it and reviews it and 30 days later the checks come in.

If the product's really good, you make a lot of sales. Unfortunately if it's really good, that also means inside 90 days it'll be on file sharing sites and/or P2P networks, and there is no meaningful DRM for either Poser or DS.

So, what could take you six weeks to develop and get processed for sale will net you at best the same number of weeks of purchases before sales drastically drop. If you don't already have successive products in the pipeline for sale, you are engaging in an expensive hobby.

>Just looking at some basic morphs and clothes for G2F is 80~ burger bucks

Go to Turbosquid and look at their prices.
>>
>>492696
What do the people who buy these products even d with them? I always assumed it was an expensive hobby and the renders go straight to deviantArt.
>>
>>492696
I see your point. Guess I'll just monitor sales for personal waifu rendering accessories.
>>
>>492697
>What do the people who buy these products even d with them? I always assumed it was an expensive hobby and the renders go straight to deviantArt.

I've seen Poser traces in comic books made by Marvel, DC, and Avatar Press. Prior to that more honest comic artists painted over renders (the original intent of the application). RWBY is entirely produced and animated in Poser Pro. The animated human in every self-check kiosk made by NCR is the Poser 4 woman. Instructional training materials where human casts are expensive or technically not feasible use these models. 3D paysite porn offers depictions of things which are illegal, immoral, and/or physically impossible.

The alternative is to hire professionals to create bespoke single-use animations, which is outside most peoples' budgets.

Yes, you're going to see a lot of shit on dA because dA is a magnet for content with minimum effort applied, and cringe on YT because OC on YT is an argument that Sturgeon's Law was optimistic. Like any other tool, you only get what you put into it.

>>492701
hint: Renderosity's Prime and DAZ's Platinum Club are worthwhile investments if you shop enough in those places.

That is exactly why we can't get a good model in Poser, because the fucking pedos have to post their ugly CP shit.
I hate pedos, you ruin everything, and the rest of us suffer with shitty models because of your worthlessness.

The group mods are not idiots and will actually read your comments, see how long you've been a member of kat and what you've contributed. The reputation points are the minimum you have to have to apply to the groups.

Have there been any freebies as great as OP's V4 pack?

I think not.

Personally I'm still waiting for them to freebie M4.

Yeah, its a pain but at least they offer multiple download links. Even if half are broken constantly. I usually just bookmark for later download. Or, search for the file name on torrent sites.

ah well, maybe there will be interesting freebies in the future.

How the hell did you even get registered there? I tried registering cause it has stuff I want, but I never get any confirmation emails. Paying for a filesharing acc is small fries compared to how much you save on Daz3D assets.

>>497297
Try a different mail provider or check your spam folders?

Yeah that's what happened to me when I tried to register for Daz. Google was bumping it to the spam folder.

Hell, while you're sucking phongdzu's cock, why not pay for a membership on all 5 of his identical sites reuploading the content he found on skyback.ru and kat.cr
>>
>>497315
Tried that already unfortunately. I got a bunch of throwaway email accounts on various sites for stuff like this, but none of them seems to work. Even tried shit like 10minutemail and nothing. Checked spam folders aswell, but again, nothing.
>>
>>497326
stay classy
>>
>>497372
It's your call but he gets paid for those downloads because he uploaded them himself. That's why it's only Novafile and they're chiefly "must be Novafile subscriber to download." The same content's on sites he doesn't run and not behind paywalls.
