I have been working on deathstroke mask for 3d printing and it keep crashing during print. Using meshmixer and cura for printing. sides are too thin and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to thicken then. I have youtubed and extruding does nothing.

today i entered a website of people in my country that are looking for job in many areas. 2D,3D,animation,video editing,programming,web design,writing,acting etc.
the number of people looking for a job or a gig is just unreal.

i feel like learning 3D or anything that involves some sort of art in it is just futile, expect for very specific niche stuff that requires good technical level of skill to begin with (character artists,unity programmers etc).

should i just keep it as a hobby and not attempt to go into such industry or just study something more practical and handy rather than compete in such a stacked industry.

Most of those people are prob freelance, so you should expect a large volume of individuals. Also depends where you live.

It always related to your skill / portfolio. 3D generalists are nothing to scoff at either, and are often times much more useful to a production comp then someone who's deep into a subject, simply because they can move around on projects.

Are you motivated enough to learn on your own? Do you enjoy it enough to sit down 3 hours, a day to watch tutorials? Do you already know someone in the industry? Do you come from a family that can support you for the next 2-5 years of you life as you study and try to get a position and make contacts, and work on projects for slave wages?

not very personally, i speak with them occasionally about technical stuff and not about work.

i already have a portfolio that is 1 year in the making, i receive criticism by other artists on a regular basis.
its just that i am socially autistic and i won't post anything i made here.
and the people that post 3D work on that website are not of a concern to me, what concern's me is the number of people looking for work

Hi there, I started learning Blender about a year ago. I used to not give a fuck about n-gons, but now I'd like to learn proper topology.

Using only quads is damn hard, most of the time adding new loops creates tons of useless edges (like the one selected). Merging flat faces will create n-gon though.

Is there a way around this? I must be doing it wrong.

I am looking for 1 or 2 software combine or just one software where you can make superposition of picture on a video.
For instance putting the face of one of your friend on a dumass on a stupid video,to make think it's him who did that..I know many picture software like Photoshop,Picasa,Publisher but theses you cannot do it with theses. Thanks,

Your sculpt is great so far. I'll be honest, it looks like you're still refining the legs right now, they don't look as polished as the torso, head, and arms.

As for the design, I'd go for something more creature-like for the arms. The human arms don't match the creature's legs. I'd sculpt some claws or spikes on them. Or even if you don't want to redo the sculpt, I'd recommend doing some texture work to make the arms look reptilian.

I keep getting this lie in Substance Painter when I try to open a project O was working on. Does anyone know what I can do with this dumb shit?

Depends entirely on how well you can animate, although most lewd SFM animators just shit out 20 frame loops daily to try to conceal the fact that they really don't know how to animate.

So the community's standards are pretty low. I'd say 1k-2k/month per animator if you consistently put out shit and become a big name like LordAardvark.
Aardvark isn't even that good, but he still makes 2.7k a month because people know who he is.

I need some explaining about this, I've tried googling this but I haven't really understand it. What's the deal with trids and quads? What's the purpose of each shape? Is it related to game engines or what? Why is it said that some programs like Maya favor quads while other programs like sculptris and Zbrush favor trids?

Technically everything gets converted to tris, but it is most apparent in vidia games. This is because its easier for a computer to calculate a tri rather then a quad. If you have 3 points, you mathematically have a flat shape, no matter where those points are.

If you have a quad, you could have an unknown face. The computer does not know exactly what to do with it, so it has to calculate it as if it were 4 faces. This is not a problem in movies, etc because you have render farms, and don't have to rely on someone outdated graphics card.

Also things like openGL don't even allow quads or ngons, because thats how it was made.

That being said, it best to model in quads, then have your model converted to tris if needed. you can read about ti here. http://blog.digitaltutors.com/modeling-with-quads-or-triangles/

Also zbrush does not like tris, it likes quads, because it allows for better subdividing.

Quads are preferred for working with since it allows edge loops and subdividing. Tris are what they actually are for your GPU. A quad is two tris, a poly with 5 vertices is three tris and so on.

You have some halfway decent work on this site and I was hoping someone would have some ideas to share.

I'm working on a PET project during my free time in college trying to create a science fiction esque Grappling Gun. After editing and reediting multiple times, I have simply ran out of ideas of what to edit.

This is just the model and I will be adding quite a lot to it but for the overall look, what are your opinions? What should I add that I haven't? What looks good what doesn't? Thank you for your input

what you 3D Negroes don't understand about design for a designer/engineer standpoint is a simple rule.

anything you design whenever its a gun, a rifle or even something that would never exist have to be practical in design.
the more crap you have on your gun, the worse you are as a deisgner.

same thing with those bigass robots or those scifi android that have all these screws and bolt that really serve no purpose.

Looks like a pretty rough sketch, but keep going.

Crease/bevel your edges, add in the components of the gun you are missing, then touch it up and post the update.

There's no distinction between hard surface or organic, if any, it's probably if the object will be deformed during animation.
Otherwise, OP, it doesn't look like hands would conform to that grip, there's also that crease running lengthwise down the stock. Looks breddy good tho

i had a decent pc, but like 4yrs old, 660ti 2gb, 3770k 16gb ram u know usual stuff
some time ago noticed i was lacking ram/vram, so i upgraded abit, now got ssd, radeon 480 8gb 32gb ram, pretty good, everythings smooth
ok start working on a project, two 3ds maxes open, photoshop, substance painter, hey this is fun and smooth, fucking a dude,
forget about ctrl s, since nothing goes wrong, pc is working nice, nothing on 100%, so livin da lyfe
when fucking suddenly everything stops, nothing saved, pc freezes
fuck my life why doesnt everything has autosave every 5minutes?
