We're currently in development of Seiyuu Danshi, you can check out our game here :)
We need your opinion and feedback for Seiyuu Danshi!
If you have got time, please take just 3 minutes to help us fill in this questionnaire about Seiyuu Danshi!
It includes basic question, such as why you are interested in the game, which feature you are most interested in, and others.
Your feedback means A LOT to us, and your help will certainly help us make this game even better
fellow BL dev here, I'll make sure to fill it out. Here are the relevant links for you:
Evn is the english visual novel dev general, so they should be able to help you with anything related to development side.
Blog is more for players, and they'll most likely give you an opinion of your game compared to jap vns.
Not sure if this belongs on here or not but I'm glad it was. Stumbled across this today and it got me sorta psyched. Hope it pans out. Did the survey and look forward to more updates
Thanks all for references, I'll posted there tomorrow. Thanks for those who have spared some time to fill in Seiyuu Danshi's Questionnaire. Btw I can't seem find the " delete" button anywhere? :)
It might be to late to delete no but its on the bottom right of the screen
when i first saw this i was kinda annoyed someone was advertising on here, but honestly i'm so glad you did it now. i checked your blogspot and i'm so ridiculously psyched for this game.
when do you expect the demo to be released, and how much will the game cost?
Really? Mangagamer's staff has been shilling NTY on 4chan for a while. I don't see why this team couldn't. (And anyways this game looks far more interesting to me.) Glad to see you're getting a good reception!
except not? Advertising would be when it's not relevant to the thread/a whole new thread. If someone at /blog/ asks about NTY mousepad and they receive an official answer, it's not. Similarly, the giveaway was/are not from MG, but from someone who happens to be an staff member.
Thanks all for the interest! Sorry, I have posted this thread in the wrong place, I've tried to delete it, but i can't be done. Btw big thanks for those who have spared their time to fill in Seiyuu Danshi's questionnaire!
It looks like shit. The same generic yaoi game that you see everywhere. The artsyle doesn't help too.
>You'll play as a newbie voice actor, who's also a runaway, who's on the verge of being kicked out from his agency. Going back home is not an option, thus begin his journey to become a good-enough-voice-actor-to-not-get-kicked-out-of-the-agency!
Boring, characters doesn't look good either. The shota one, the hot one, the funny one... What is creativity.
lol! maybe you haven't seen this game's features yet? I think this game is quite rare, with reversible role(you can be TOP or BOTTOM) and there's foreplay mode too. With such a great features alone this game already stands out. their art looks good too.. But well, after all it's just my opinion...
Features only get you so far. I personally agree with >>2236537
the characters are the same dime-a-dozen yaoi characters we've seen before, and worse still they suffer from sameface syndrome which doesn't help in the slightest. It might have helped if the art looked good but it's utter shit compared to what other English games like Super Health Club or Coming Out on Top have to offer. (And its not like they don't suffer from issues too, such as sameface problems with SHC and anatomy issues with COoT)
On the other hand, this game got an immediate positive reception, which means there are people who are enthusiastic about the art and willing to purchase it based on the existing style. If you change it to suit a minority you're going to lose players elsewhere, this is a fact.
I mean I found the guys from NTY to be disappointingly unattractive, Coming Out On Top is too western looking for me, and Super Health Club is really too bara for me to be interested. SO PLEASE KEEP YOUR ART STYLE. Maybe it could use some minor tweaking, but there's nothing like it right now in English games. You can tell from the response here more than a few of us want something like this.
I went and took a look, and ugh, that animation you have for the promo material is awful. Why does the lighting change halfway through the gif? Eye animation is stiff and too non-stop. Add a frame or two of the medium eye frame so it'll look like more natural blinking.
The art is okay. Clean, consistent, nothing too horrible.
What program are you using? Renpy or...?
I'm rather tired of the uke/seme stereotyping in yaoi and found the reversible options to be quite refreshing.I can't even tell you how excited I am about the foreplay mode. thank you for creating this. I can't wait for it to come out.
as much as i was looking forward to seeing everybody's questions answered, after reading those i genuinely hope the creators have stopped checking this thread. they shouldn't have to read that kind of uncalled for negativity; they're trying to make a game - one that's loaded with new and creative features - to fill a niche that literally everybody agrees is empty (english yaoi games), and you try to shit on all their efforts. even if the game isn't to your tastes, which doesn't make it 'shit' by the way, they're doing what everybody has wanted and you're discouraging them. criticism is a good thing, and i'm a firm believer in it, but criticism is pointing out flaws in an effort to help them improve. you're not criticizing, you're just smashing them.
also, how much are you expecting? it's a low budget, low market game made by first time (i'm assuming) developers, yet you seem to be expecting fallout 5 with more dicks. besides, the demo isn't even out and you're already comparing it to the finished product of other games.
haters aside, i'm so looking forward to this game. it has beautiful art, and the gameplay sounds even better.
tl;dr: constructive criticism is good, but if you just wanna spew hate then hide the thread
seconding that the ability to both top/bottom is vital. also a imaginative variety of sex acts and creative CG angles. No Thank You did this very well.
also, OP >>2235439 all your characters look exactly the same besides hair color and glasses. give some variety. body shape, tattoos, hair length, skin color, etc. diversify. if you can't imagine characters that look different, how are you going to imagine stories that create characters that aren't just boring 2D tropes?
This criticism was constructive and mostly positive>>>2236564
>it has beautiful art
and your excessive flattery probably does more to harm how the final game turns out than those "haters" non suger coated criticism
putting that aside by western visual novel standards the art is perfecly serviceable
That one character who looks exactly like haru from free is a bit much though
and it has a few interesting gimmicks so i hope it comes out and does well enough for them to learn from it and maybe make more in the future
I probably wont buy it myself though as ive been to spoiled by JVN's
>Super Health Club or Coming Out on Top
to be fair those are for a different demographic
Awesome ideas so far, am excited to see it develop! Sadly BL games are underdeveloped and a thing like consensual sex and having the choice to choose whether I want my character to have it or no, is very awesome!
yeah, i wasn't referring quite as much to >>2236564. it at least had fairly constructive criticism at least.
that wasn't really excessive imo, i just really like how it looks and have no knowledge of art to give any sort of criticism/advice. maybe a more artistic person than me could notice something that could be improved, but to me it really does look beautiful.
out of curiousity, which character looks like haru? none of them resemble any characters i know (which isn't a lot, to be fair). then again i only ever see fanart of stuff like that so idk.
I love the idea that you can be top or bottom, it is exactly what I needed after playing other bl/yaoi games and getting frustrated that the main character is always a bottom or a top without a single exception.
I just want to say, thank you so much for working on a highly interactive yaoi game! I've had my fair share of yaoi games and sometimes felt that they didn't give the player enough control over the character despite the choices that may appear here and there.
as much as i don't wanna believe you, the poster count convinced me. fuck.
c'mon, devs. you don't need to do something that pathetic to gather interest, you have a genuinely good game on your hands.
