I remember seeing some theory on a TV show about the Black Dahlia. Iirc, the son of some very intelligent academic came out saying his father could've had done it as he had almost obsessive interest about severed people in artwork setting. Can't remember much more about it, but it sure did seem compelling.

Nothing famous but we will never know the truth of two fairly simple events that happened to me when I was young, about 8-10 years old.

First event was an extreme sleepiness. I could barely do anything and moved really slowly. I had done nothing unusual the day before nor had I slept differently than usual. I ended up passing out on the stairs saved by my backpack straps. I stayed home and slept all day, woke up and ate dinner, then went to sleep that night. Next day was normal.

The second event was exactly the opposite thing. Again, everything was normal the day before but this time I couldn't fall asleep and I wasn't tired at all. Not full of energy or hyper, just well-rested. Did some I Spy book spying to help me sleep but I never got sleepy. I ended up going downstairs and watching tv with my dad at 4 am when he woke up to go to work. Wasn't tired all day and the next night, I was only a typical amount of sleepy.

I have no idea what happened in either case. It's as if my sleepiness from one night got transferred to some other night years apart.

There was a documentary done recently on the dyatlov pass which released some of the original photography taken by the hikers, alongside a few documents. Can't remember the name of the documentary sadly, but it uncovered that at the same time as the hikers went missing there was a Russian military expedition called operation snowman where soldiers were meant to hunt down and capture a yeti that had been reported on multiple occasions. I'm not a believer in the yeti phenomena, but there was some rather compelling evidence that the hikers found the yeti by accident, photographed it and documented it in diary entries. The bit about the running shoes doesn't surprise me as much, since a lot of them are made with air in the soles these days. Even some boots are. The explanation about feet breaking off easily during decomposition and then floating due to the shoes seems pretty logical. And considering how big the area is, and the fact that it's right by the Pacific Ocean, it wouldn't surprise me that enough people die at sea each year to cause a foot to wash up every once in a while. I do also agree with the one guy's theory that some of them are probably tsunami victims from 2004, and the rest are just random people.
