For example I have 'Practical Applications Of Ancient Visual Symbols' for the Thoth deck, because it is good about the symbology and interpretation of that deck

To be honest, tarot is one of the easiest methods of divination to get into. You can basically just pick up a deck and start using it. Nearly all decks have a booklet with card meanings, generally with spreads as well, but you can easily look up all of these things online with a simple google search. There are heaps of tarot websites, and you can also watch youtube videos of people using tarot cards. Any question you have about tarot is answered somewhere easy to find on the internet.

There are some general things I can recommend. Pick one method (one style of deck, or whatever else) and learn it before trying to branch out. It's a lot of information to grasp at the start. Don't try and learn all the meanings or memorize connections and symbolism. Use a book as reference as you use them, for as long as you need. That's pretty much all you need to know to start learning tarot.
