For some reason no matter how often this point is stressed, people on /x/ just can't seem to grasp that there were many, many Gnostic sects with a wildly wide spread of various beliefs and practices. To be sure, to just refer to "The" Gnostics is tantamount to saying you don't know what Gnosticism is.
