The people on pol did some digging and found out some weird things, like that government agencies were funding certain video games. Everyone found that super weird. It was also super weird how all the apparatus of state (schools and media) ran nothing but hit pieces on them. Gamergate is a very small thing, but it shows a very large network that is looking like a very deliverate attempt at engineering opinion on a massive scale.

The very first video games were goverment projects designed in government labs.There were FPSs being made in government long before mario existed. Hell the first game was made using navy radar equipment.

Pretty much this. Saying that, the GG movement did expose a fair amount of bullshit in games media which has redpilled a lot of people on the media itself. Biggest weakness GG has is the fact it's about fucking vidya and not real issues (which OPs pic makes a good point about) and the whole harassment thing.
