supposedly these are all similar, but are any of them total bullshit? (ie: "the force")
Qi, prana, "chi", pneuma, mana, lüng, ruah, vital energy, "The Force", energeia, élan vital, or "vitalism"
'the force' is no bullshit, it is actually the purest form of energy, it is the infinite potential which every entity inherits, and is reduced by the body and mind of the entity. When we assume that all is consciousness everything emerges out of 'the force'. You asking about energy bound by matter, and this energy is subordinate for the individual growth.
by the way, you can actually see your energy. In the nearly darkness look wit one eye on you arm. Switch the eye from time to time. You will starting to see the fine silver lines all over your body. With practice you will see the colors to.
of course: I wrote this in another thread.
Most of the humans lives permanently in a bubble (mind). The mind is just a mixture of reality and imagination. This bubble has it's limits and if you feel this limits you feel the cage and getting depressed and finally suicidal. To get out of this bubble it is necessary to focus on that what is truely in the center of your universe - your body. Be aware of your body and you will be free. Only then you will be able to feel the connection between everything. You will feel your endless potential, limited by your body and mind and finally find your purpose to bring this potential into this realm.
This from another thread, but I cannot recommend to push this kind of energy just for fun:
Well, you can find the snake reference in many old cultures. It means, as soon you use your mind extensively, a lot of energy will be produced and transported up your spine. Especially in India it is common to cultivate this energy so called kundalini with hard meditations. For the so called third eye it is necessary to produce a lot of this kind of energy. With the third eye you are able to see the true nature of the universe.
>Be aware of your body and you will be free
Would working out/yoga be good for this?
I feel like when im active Im generally more relaxed and present, while when I dont work out I tend to feel more restless and anxious
yes! You got the point! Do everything with full awareness! Yoga is the best workout you can do. Yoga as it was originally, was only a mental thing, I practice this version every minute.
