I think it's more of a personality test than anything. I'm not talking sun sign only. Rising, sun, venus, mars, mercury, and moon signs are your starter ones for personality. You can get crazy deep with it like with your decan, your lilith, your houses, etc. But it's not a be all end all. It's pretty much just another personality test except it's "assigned at birth". It doesn't mean that you'll necessarily be like what it say on your chart. There are many other factors that affect socialization like your upbringing, cultural things, your mood at the moment, environment, and sometimes it's just as simple as misunderstandings.

Also is amazingly hard to be certain as every person has about 11 caracteristics(by each planet and ascendand and moon there is a sign assigned that modifies your own behavior) even more in their natal chart that interacts your own sign and chart in thousands of ways.

Humans are very good at pattern recognition. In the days before widespread agriculture, when humans had to hunt and gather whatever was available, the time of year a baby was born would have significant developmental effects on that baby. Hunter-gatherer societies would be able to recognize these variations in behavior and would be able to track them according to the stars.
