3:50 p.m. — Military officials in New Jersey and Washington said there were no training flights off the coast of New Jersey at the time.

"We are trying to figure out what it possibly could been. We have not for sure identified it," said Wayne Woolley, a spokesman for the Air National Guard in New Jersey. "It's a real mystery."

He said four jets from New Jersey were in the air yesterday afternoon, but "they launched well after" the booms rattled the area.

Article says it originated in the middle of Jersey. They confirm it was a sonic boom, but also mentioned there was an area out at sea called the test track. Nigger, we're nowhere near the sea.

The sonic boom could be felt and heard all the way up to Connecticut. Shaking windows and houses that people though we're earthquakes. Sonic booms can't produce that much energy and travel that far. Don't worry, the media says it was because of certain atmospheric conditions. Except it's the dead of winter. Sound doesn't travel far in the cold because the air has a higher density or some shit. That's why everything is so much louder (like birds) in the summer.

The closest naval air station has f-16s. No f-35s, which are being tested in arizona. F-18s maybe if they're doing engine block rebuilding or some shit, but why 9 back to back booms? A few flights is plenty of data since most the engin can be tested on the ground in a propulsion lab.

Why did the military deny it for hours but then say it was them? With no proof or any indication they would be flying?

It's all research, and playing around, you lol get the hang of it, do some extra googling and asking around, there's tonnes of free info on this stuff.

But get onto the site, turn on the squelch. The USAF frequencies are (in order of descending popularity):
8992
11175
4725

Tune into them on Upper short band (USB).
You likely won't hear anything for a couple hours on a quiet day, but during busy times, I've seen messages go every couple of minutes, it's all luck.

Usually if there is a coded message on 8992, it will be rebroadcast simultaneously over all other USAF channels.

Occasionally there is a massive signal that blocks 8992, it is misconstrued as "jamming" when in reality it is a European (British I think) over the horizon radar doing a scan, simply switch to 11175 USB to hear the stations.

Also, Google "the Russian buzzer" and tune into 4625 USB to hear it. It's pretty cool and hearing an actual coded message is INCREDIBLY rare (once or twice a year, there was one a couple of months ago that I missed by minutes)

NOTE: the buzzer can only be heard at certain times of day on this site due to daylight and background signal messing up the clarity of transmission.

Usually busy times indicate something happening in the world.

eg. If you remember when North Korea moved heaps of it's troops to the border last year, I knew something was up by the radios going crazy, then a few hours later some twitter sources etc. by the end of it, mainstream media was reporting it 2 days after the event occurred and I got to feel smug as shit. :>)

Uhh this is totally wrong. Sound travels faster in cold (denser) air. And the speed of sound doesn't affect its loudness. The reason things are "louder" in the summer is because snow is highly acoustically absorptive. In winter, when snow is covering the ground, trees and buildings, it muffles a lot of sound.

theres nothing classified or top secret about that location. It looks like either an EOR (end of runway) Arming pad, or a hot pad, place where bombs are actually put on the aircraft. neither spot would be classified or top secret, they would be restricted, but only for safety purposes. Basically the Air Force only wants people qualified for handling munitions to be in the area around the aircraft when munitions are being handled.

On second look, looking at the equipment around the aircraft, I'm not sure if this aircaft is being armed or just getting fuel tank maintenance. I know the B52 is loaded using trailers and not bomblifts, but I've never been to a B52 base and don't know what these trailers look like. And you'll also notice a large spot between the #6 and #7 engine that wasn't there in the first picture. This leads me to believe they are working on the fuel tanks and spilled fuel everywhere.
