Wicca is actually incompatible with lesbianism, traditionally speaking.
She might even be channelling a spirit. You can't know why a woman would want to be with you, only Gods and demons know.

Welcome to coven life
>>
>>17278901
Coven scene never interested me. I mean sire it sounds cool, but I've got supwr specific theories and ritual habits that I don't think would mesh well with a coven.
>>
>>17278919
I'm curious. I'm pretty much in the same boat, but I think a coven is needed to build a village of the gods again.

What do covens ask of folks aside from intimacy of ritual.
>>
>>17278970
Village of the gods sounds like a hoot and a half. I'm assuming there would be booze?

I don't know from experience. The closest thing I've ever been involved with a coven is when I was a member of Jobs Daughters (sub order of the masonic family)
>>
>>17278991
Booze is related heavlily to ritual. There'd be animals too, statuary. Ideally we'd be able to agree upon revering several forms of the earth mother/sky father among personal shrines near every house. Everything eclectic as heck, but grown mostly from the dirt under-one's nails.
>>
>>17279018
Sounds like fun. Do you have kik?
>>
>>17277302
Kinda same, but I keep in touch with a local coven.
>>
>>17279030
Nope, I don't have a phone. Trying to stay off the internet, cause I do porn, etc.
>>

>>

>>
What is a witch for you?

Also who were the first kind of witches? Good or bad?

I'll take any good documentary on modern witches too if anyone knows about a good one.
>>
I've got a question, what do you witched define "dark witchcraft" as? Since we follow the threefold law, I kind of don't have an idea in my head on how the dark path might be. Enlighten me?
>>
Yeah? English witchcraft here. What you wanna know?
>>
>>17279436
Yeah. I haven't been able to come out of the broomcloset to my family since they're pretty mormon, anything mentioned wicca or witch is associated with satanism and sacrifices. That feel
>>
>>17281409
I have a Mormon aunt and cousin, and they're the ones I'm worried about. Plus most of my mother's family. They know, but they don't understand.
>>
>>17281441
It's too bad, since it's such a positive and empowering practice, at least for me
>>
>>17281475
Definitely. I try to communicate that but nothing gets through. I'm accused of worshiping demons and rebelling against god. It wouldn't bother me so much if it was coming from the people I grew up around.
>>
>>17281491
Yeah, same. Sometimes it gets tough having to keep that part of your life secret, especially if it's a part of who you are now.
Are you a solitary practitioner, or do you have a coven?
>>
>>17281491
That's because you're a retard and call yourself a witch when you aren't one. Witchcraft is inherently involved with demons. If what you're doing isn't involved with demons, it isn't witchcraft, and you calling it witchcraft just makes you look like an idiot.
>>
>>17281501
Oh, fuck off.
>>
>>17281498
Solitary at the moment, but I'm acquainted with members of a coven across country lines and it looks like I'll be joining soon. Feels good man.

>>17281501
>>
>>17281514
Stop embarrassing yourself by calling whatever kind of magic you do witchcraft, then complaining that people "don't understand", and I will. Witch has a very specific meaning. It would be like a doctor of medicine calling himself an astrophysicist.
>>
>>17281527
By that logic, I could call out Christians for using a cross as their holy symbol when the Romans clearly defined it as a form of execution.
>>
>>17281540
Symbols and words aren't the same thing. Yes, you can say that you're giving witch a new definition, but what's the point. Most people won't know what the fuck you're talking about, which is a problem since words are used to communicate.
>>
i dont get it, why you practice witchcraft if you already know you are on the losing side? you dont gain anything unless you have more to lose out of any deal you can do with these demons. They always lie, and they have been around for a long time so they are wise at manipulating people, dont you think they know what makes you tick?
>>
>>17281540
>>17281577
Case in point: >>17281588
>>
>>17281588
Literally what I've been complaining about: Christfags assuming false and frustrating things about me and my beliefs and refusing to accept contrary explanation because their with/against bias is unshakable.
>>
>>17281624
>Christfags assuming false and frustrating things about me and my beliefs
Because you are literally using an incorrect definition of witch. A witch is a person who works with demons to preform magic. People who preform other kinds of magic are not witches. The only reason to call yourself a witch is because either YOU are misinformed, or because you want to associate yourself with something from history that you believe adds legitimacy to whatever it is you are doing, which would seem to indicate that whatever you're doing isn't real, since if it is then it legitimizes itself.
>>
>>17281645
Demons have absolutely nothing to do with the original etymology of witch and witchcraft. They derive from old English words for practitioners of magic and sorcery, but any connection with Christian ideas of Satanic and demonic forces were added after the fact. In fact, they were originally applied to Germanic tribesman in the mid-medieval period.

I mean, literally two seconds on google.
>>
>>17281645
In elaboration, the oldest recorded uses of the words make no explicit mention of demons at all. Your the one getting it blatantly incorrect.
>>
>>17281540
The bible does not use any symbol as a representation of Christianity, the us of the cross is tradition, it is not biblical

>>17281624
witchcraft involves dealing with what the bible calls demons. all the spirits are either angels or demons, the bible says that if a demon does not state that Jesus Christ is God then its not from God thus a demon

They know much more about you than you think, they watch you always.
>>
>>17281682
Fucking. Thank. You.
>>
>>17281645
And if those weren't enough, Monier Monier-Williams defined "witch" as having at least four separate meanings, only one of which has any devilish connotation - the forth being a practitioner of wicca.
>>
>>17281691
the bible calls those entities demons, so what if the origin of the word is not the same. From the very beginning God denounced false gods, the ones that you are having communion through your rituals or whatever you do
>>
>>17281682
This
>>
>>17281707
Look m8, just because one of my gods has a goat for a head doesn't make him a demon.
>>
>>17281736
the greatest trick the devil pull is to make you believe he does not exist, ask whatever entity you communion if he thinks Jesus Christ is God.

Went to an apothecary recently. Bought some frankincense and stones.

What do you guys do? I've only just started getting interested in witchcraft, so I'm curious as to what other people do.
>>
>>17281852
We rectify our mistakes and pay for them in whatever way nature demands. Like I said, we're entrusted to take responsibility for our actions and right any wrongs, however that needs to be done. Obviously there comes with it the idea that you've breached that trust with the gods and have failed to live by their guidelines, but ultimately it's the people who have the responsibility to be good.

And by peaceful, I mean peaceful. No hostility, malevolent rule. They're just as much guides and companions as they are gods. They don't drain anything from me, either.
>>
>>17281860
I'm mostly a beginner too. I started out using different herbs, since I'm a tea fanatic. I started with a simple beginners wicca book, which helped me figure out the healing and spiritual properties of certain herbs. I use them according to what I need them for (rosemary for protection + focus, for example). I started getting into crystals and their energies, and got a little crystal collection going. They have energies as well and you can use them almost like the herbs, surround yourself with them for whatever properties you need from them.
Nowadays I'm practicing spells, and focusing my energy towards what I want. I'm trying to follow the karmic law and think more positively. It kinda starts off from original interests, then you find your niche. There's no wring way to practice
>>
>>17281860
Oh, and I got a cute blank book to use as my book of shadows/grimoire. I would recommend doing that. Write down recipes, thoughts, journal entries, spells or things you want to remember, such as runes, crystals, or herbs.
>>
>>17281901
I mostly avoid crystals. No offense but they strike me as a little too new age. Herbs and incense do the trick for me.
>>
>>17281750

So....

If Jesus Christ is God, then who is God?

I'll wait...
>>
How were you all introduced to it, and how long have you been practicing/believing?
>>
>>17281943
Yeah, they are haha. I suppose I was draw to the excuse of getting a pretty crystal collection. Incense is great too.
>>
>>17282019
Whatever you're content with.
>>
>>17281943
>>17282019
Not really. Crystals are mostly a hoodoo/root worker thing and that was because they were rare in the 1800s. Plus ceremonial magicians use them in certain rituals and then it's mostly just a hunk of quartz crystal for scrying. The new age fags just spammed them everywhere because "lol crystalz so groovy man". Gods I hate them so much.
>>
>>17282012
I had a older friend who was so positive and full of good energy. He was so great to be around. He told me about wicca/paganism and the misconceptions behind it, and let me ask questions freely.
By that time I couldn't consider myself christian anymore, due to conflicting beliefs. I needed more fulfillment in my life, so I decided to try witchcraft out. It's helped me make self discoveries and be a better person in general. I was drawn to the freedom it held.

I've almost been practicing for a year now, but I want to find a coven so it would feel more communal. It gets hard to frequently practice by myself.
>>
>>17282068
Solitary work is harder but can be more fulfilling. Try witchvox or FB for a group near you.
>>
>>17282057
Ahh, my bad. I can say they do indeed work and have their own energy and vibrations.
I see tumblerinas making it a new age fad, but there are some seriously cool crystal workers out there.
>>
>>17282057
Same. They hurt our image and make us all seem like field-frolicking commune freaks to everyone else.
>>
>>17282068
I'm in the same dilemma. I don't really know anyone else who's pagan, let alone wiccan, so whenever I try to talk about it to other people I feel that I come off as an attention whore.
In terms of being introduced, my mom owned an occult-themed novel that I found and read as a teenager. Despite getting almost everything about witchcraft wrong, it peaked my interest enough to look into it and before long I started taking it seriously.

>>
>>17282068
I think your friend represents a major goal in our craft: contentment. A lot of outsiders get the impression that we're dark and have macabre rituals, but really the idea is just to have inner-peace and contentment with your being and environment. And you'll not only feel better, but be a little brighter on the outside. It really throws my relatives for a loop, since they think I drink animal blood on a Satanic alter.

Gardnerian and Alexandian wicca are okay, but the vast majority of wicca is absolute garbage.

i think this might be the right place, but if not, direct me to where it's appropriate.

i've recently developed a bit of a curiosity for wicca practices. i have a couple of books, but not anything serious (i think?).

to put it short, i'm looking for more of self gain (but i'd like to help others if it works for me). particularly in money and success. i've poured a lot of energy into a project, and i'd like it to succeed.

i saw a few spells for "quick money" in the books i have, which would help at the moment as i'm particularly not in a good financial spot. i'm just not sure if it'll work out so great, or if there's something better for it.

i know it's not a good reason to get into witchcraft, but for me, it's a start. though probably not the best...

i guess my biggest question is, what is a good way to start? something easy, something that can't go wrong.
>>
>>17284813
Wicca = witchcraft
Same thing different name. Of course the early stuff is garbage it was the beginning of trying to rebuild everything from scratch. I mean Gardner had no idea what he was doing at first. Still this stuff is a good foundation. Although I'd recommend Agrippa and his contemporary as beginning reading material.

First and foremost you should read up on the theology and decide if you actually want to believe it or not. If you're not comfortable just yet after that you don't have to get into ritual practices immediately - just try out the faith and see if it works for you. There's no one doctrine in wicca so you won't get symbolically penalized for how you choose to approach it. Take your time.

"Dark witchcraft" generally involves the underworld, ancestors and "the mighty dead", and cthonic deities.

Your "threefold law" was originally an injunction for YOU to return threefold what was done to you, whether for woe or for weal, and not some supposed law of universal mechanics. Modern neo-wicca has basically gotten it backwards.

Paganism predates the bible. Dionysus and Osiris both died and were resurrected layer your New Testament is just a re-working of those myths just like the old testament is a re-working of Egyptian monotheistic mystery schools...the herbrews did not invent montheism.

I don't prefer the word witch I prefer pagan or just divine nature worshipper

Witchcraft is confusing to me, why would you befriend a spirit that is far weaker than God? And not only that, but also a spirit that is evil and is so scared of God that even the presence of him is enough for him to depart.

Read the KJV Bible, your witchcraft won't give you eternal life
>>
>>17281967
Have you not read in Genesis, And God said, Let US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness. God is not one, he is three, the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is what causes the fear of the demons, they cannot stand before him

Practicing pagan, questions?
>>
>>17291088
Hmm. I find it facinating that you would call the beings I worship "Evil" when it's your Christian god that sent my children home from school crying, because they were scared of some of the churchy brats who told them they were going to hell.
To my knowledge, pretty much all deities have had killing done in their name. It's a fact of life and I'm not going to pretend that my hands are historically clean.
But, comparatively, I'm as innocent as your virgin Mary. There is no religion that has so entirely and so systematically organized bloodshed in the name of their god.

Either the deity or his followers are pieces of shit.
>>
>>17291612
Just gonna rattle off some of the ones I get asked the most:
>Why do you worship weak gods?
>Do you ACTUALLY think that magic works?
>Are you anti-Christ/anti-Christian?
>Are you involved with Satan and/or demons?
>Is your moral code just "anything goes" then?
>>
>>17291633
I'm not a parent, but would like to be someday; may I ask what it's like raising children pagan?
>>
>>17291646
>>17291646
It's actually kind of a joy, won't lie. I feel like, by sharing my beliefs with my kiddos, I'm a better parent for it.

Ya know how when you first move away from home, you don't put alot of effort into christmas or whatever? That's how most of us (Without covens) do most pagan holidays. The kids give me an excuse to go all out, decorating the whole house, so much baking and cooking, and then the rituals are very very fun. They love it. Involving them in rituals just like any other religion does. For the first while, all they'll do is enjoy the fun. Explain it anyway. After awhile, they'll start to understand and appreciate what it means.

They're also very respectful little boys. They haven't shown any of the cruelty or unfeelingness I've seen in other kids their age. Everyone is a friend, everyone needs a smile. They actually almost got suspended for beating up a bully who'd been pulling a younger girls hair >.>
>>
>>17291637
I especially love the last one. My usual response is "You would really run around raping old ladies if god didn't tell you not to? Really? You need a religion-based moral code for that?"

No, he's right. That's literally the only thing witches are good for. Magic isn't real.
>>
>>17291637
>>Why do you worship weak gods?
that's a perfectly valid question, and I'd like to hear your answer. I mean, Odin couldn't stop Christians and Muslims from using Scandinavia as a hackey-sack, and that was when the Norse culture was at its military and economic peak. So what kind of "god" is he supposed to be?

>Do you ACTUALLY think that magic works?
A valid question. There is no scientific validity in the practice of magic.

>Are you anti-Christ/anti-Christian?
If this question bothers you, the answer is probably yes.

>Hey everyone, I'm a pagan, ask me anything, although I'm going to ignore all the questions that make me uncomfortable!
I did a Muslim AMA on /pol/ the other day. And even while I was getting flooded with "go back to your own country shitskin", I still made a respectable attempt to answer ALL questions, and not just cherrypick.
>>
>>17291088
Because you can't do anything as you are a part of god. Witchcraft allows you to step into another's shoes.

Basically my ancestors saw it lyke dis.
There's father sky, who you CAN ask for help but he's the god of all skies, he's busy.

But there's still the animals who you can ask. Who you can grasp, skin, consume, commune, and their plants too. They are here for our learning, we can't be carried around by papa forever, we are grown ups, just like the rabbits.

>>17293043
If magic isn't real, then why do you keep posting that pink burka-burka girel? Aren't you trying to create a magical impression of your persona despite this anonymity? Taking void and turning it to something? Can't you sell us better pictures? This "cute" girl person doesn't hide your vitriol. It only serves to sustain a magick spell that you weave. Magick isn't real, anon that I recognize.
>>
>>17293067
>This "cute" girl person doesn't hide your vitriol. It only serves to sustain a magick spell that you weave.
What vitriol? I'm not saying anything hateful.
There is one God, one Heaven and one Hell. There is no such thing as magic, only demonic deception. That's the truth, that isn't hate. The truth is not hate.

Wicca = witchcraft but witchcraft != wicca, they're not synonyms.

Wicca refers specifically to the style of witchcraft generated by Gerald Gardner, and his successors, during the 20th century, as well as the myriad less-defined forms of eclectic wicca.

Witchcraft as an umbrella term refers to a wide variety of traditions from different regions and periods, encompassing a wide range of different practices.

>I mean Gardner had no idea what he was doing at first.

Or at the end, unfortunately. While Gardner did seem to have some knowledge of the OTO and GD systems, the tradition he produced on the back of those seems disctinctly meh, and has produce a huge range of ecletic traditions grounded in feelpinion rather than theory.

As for Agrippa, while I would recommend the 3 Books as a great general source of magic, I would find it hard to recommend them for someone starting from scratch. That said, they are an essential component of a modern occultist's library.

I would recommend Chumbley's material over any other system for a serious education in modern occultism and witchcraft, however it is known for being very obscure and dense
>>
>>17293096
There is one two faced person here up in the clouds and I see why you worship him.

I prefer to not think that worms are evil and that doggies are unholy. I prefer to actually think that god is legos and is what makes up everything. As above so below. Your way is creating a single good/evil society, while my way allows for infinite expression of gods.

Sometimes everyone wants to be someone else. If god wants to show himself to me in any way, I can go along with it and get closer to god. Would you play D&D with your nerdy, mostly absent dad if it was what he wanted to use it as a tool to help you grow up? Or would you say, No I don't want to play?
>>

anyway..

>>
>>17293161
Alright, God is a nerdy dad, a forever Game Master because he shows his love through micromanagement. He makes the sun rise on time, etc. Well He has a very vivid fantasy world fulll of demons and angels for the especially curious to explore. He isn't gonna give you permission to play, because it's part of the game, that you rebel in order to play that game.

God is great, and as long as you remember that God is in all things, then you can totes practice magic. If the demons that you work with aren't above god, then what is the harm in being a Player Character? I mean seriously, play a role-playing game, just once with a bunch of friends. And then you'll get the experience of why people do magic. I recommend everyone is John, ask /tg/ they have it and ideas for a first time game.

You get asked those questions, and it's clear that you don't like answering them.

Well, tough. If you want to be a spokesperson for your religion, you need to be prepared to answer the hard questions. And if you aren't, you need to find a religion that doesn't suck.

Actually, Christian here, the cross is a phallis (penis) and means nothing to me. I'm interested in converting to paganism because im so fucking tired of the backwards self righteous people i deal with... but i have no magic nor have i been able to open any chakras. I don't think i have the gift... and frankly i have ADD so focusing on a spell or a chant has been ridiculously hard for me in the past...
>>
>>17298132
Also i heard that the spirits are more reluctant to work with someone who had a past with god...
>>
For those frustrated with the restrictions and rules set by the Christian religion I can only suggest you become a satanist (I'm a theoretical one myself) not only does it not impose any way of life or rule it also can bring you to relatively simple Magik quite easily. Just forget evrything you think you know and don't assume anything.
For more info check out Satan's Den
Hail Satan
>>
>>17298166
The rules there aren't just because god is a micromanager, its because he knows how dangerous a covenant with a demon is. If you don't know by now, black magick uses borrowed power from demons, but can cause adverse health effects, and they will slowly suck more life out of you with every use. White or plain magick, relies mostly on concoctions potions and prayers to a deity, and doesn't require any demons although no matter what you do you need to be careful.
>>
>>17298192
Most wicca balance dark and white magick to counter each other. Similar to yin and yang. Less experienced ones will foolishly dive head first into dark magick and get a real nasty demon on their back without proper prep.
