That's the thing. I believe people can be empaths. But I'm not just going to fawn over someone who says they are. I'm going to want something besides a claim before I accept it.

Just like intelligence. I would determine if someone is smarter than me after evidence of their larger pool of data, or better use of said data (though I would call that wit rather than intelligence, but no matter). I wouldn't just accept someone as smarter than me because they claimed it.

I'm like a reverse empath, people pick up my mannerisms and points of view, some even going so far as to try and emulate me completely to the point where it's very obvious and annoying. I can make others feel my emotions and make them think my thoughts, I even seem to pick up on the emotions of others but I don't really feel them, I think of it as running their emotions in a sandbox.
