The discovery of a ninth planet reminded me of this classic anime: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Millennia
Leiji Matsumoto's ninth planet from Queen Millennia has just been found. Planet LaMetal was nine times the size of Earth and this one is ten times.
I've always seen the influence of Velikovsky and Sitchin's thought in Matsumoto, and Queen Millennia also had the whole 70's "ancient astronaut" thing going on too.

Is this good?

It's a classic anime currently being fansubbed (series) and has a cool theatrical film.
Good in the sense of events depicted? Well, the citizens of La Metal certainly had plans of their own for Earth....

It really is a haunting show, like all of Matsumoto's stuff (Galaxy Express 999, Harlock) and there's nothing quite like it's aesthetic these days.

Good as in quality and worth viewing.

yes, see >>17250630
Of course, I like old anime so maybe I'm biased but anything that has ancient aliens and planets on thousand year orbits invading Earth is good. The old art style is pretty and a nice change from all the cute shit now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dtnupftMIs

It doesn't look like the manga has been translated yet, just the movie and (in progress) series fansub. Another Matsumoto manga, Queen Emeraldas, is coming out soon on hardcover in English so hopefully this one gets translated at some point.
I have this hardcover set in Japanese, but cannot decode the strange Japanese runes as of yet.
