Here we go again, boys! Make your own plan for zombie survival, and try to rate others. I'll start with mine. Tried to go with a more stealthy, outdoors type of build.

Going out with some fucking dignity.

In a real apocalypse, would food and water be really as scarce as in tv and movies? When you think about it there is so much food and water in many stores and warehouses. Of course during the early days people will raid them but couldn't take out all of them because most will also die. Even late into it when its a small amount of people, still are going to die without consuming all they gathered.

Within a month a good portion of what you'd see in your local grocers would be spoiled. Of the stuff that wasn't spoiling, you'd be dealing with what you could then prepare, use, get sufficient nutrition from, get before anyone else did.
For instance, there'd be plenty of dried rice. But assuming you even got any, do you have what you need to prepare it? Are you just going to wander around munching on it raw? How much nutrients and calories do you expect it to provide?
So yeah, when the human market and network isn't providing food, especially in dense urban environments, it can start getting a little hairy.
Water, in a lot of places, can be even worse. Even the best looking water can be dangerous, a situation that would only increase in a societal collapse as chemical storage, waste collection and storage, animal control, etc. all went belly up. So most water you found would need to be boiled or iodined, at least.
I could see both being pretty serious issues if that serious a social meltdown occurred. The trick? To choose a place with a lot of resources, but with an old, unhealthy population, like say Miami. A lot of people in Miami will just die because they're slow, old, sickly, unhealthy, etc. As they quickly and naturally thin out, that means more resources for the remaining people!
>>17248301
Assuming zombies wander aimlessly (read: random) until they find a human, they act like gas molecules in a container, they will flow out any opening. Although high population areas will have lots of zombies, that number will eventually lower as zombies would randomly file out. Stay indoors where your supplies are (obviously this plan relys on having lots of supplies before hand, but that's useful for a large number of real word issues too) and wait for the local zombie numbers to lower till its safer outside. Outfit is to systematically make the local area safer and wait it out. The Nuts are meant to be nails and the axe has hammer and crowbar heads as well.
>>17248347
Effective. Plenty of explosives so you don't run out early. This one would survive quite a while.
>>17248330

>no clothing, stay light on your feet and save cash for more important survival items
>carries a filter mask

yolo
Hope to god that the zombies are docile during the night -- relying on stealth alone.
Keeping items light on weight, so to move quietly and smoothly -- suppressors to help with both the USP and MP5.
Survive long enough to find others, but stay true to the 'lone wolf' role -- willing to leave if necessary

Basically I would go around pouring gasoline on other people's settlements and blowing them up with my sweetass bazooka. But I would leave 1 person alive to shit themselves at the sight of dead bodies everywhere, after which I would reveal myself and offer them toilet paper, thus conning them into thinking I'm a good person. >>17258468
Most people in this thread are letting their imaginations run wild, or joking around, and that's fine. Others are being realistic, but making the assumption that they're at home and have some time to prepare. You're assuming you'll have your EDC only, which is not unreasonable.
OP should've started out with ground rules, like
>It's the zombie apocalypse! You have 30 minutes to grab stuff around your home before you have to flee. You can't bug in, you can't take longer, if don't like that then don't post.
>What would you have to survive with? Anything good you'd have to leave? Public transportation is not operating, do you have a vehicle or are you on foot? If you have a vehicle, no weight limit, otherwise it's 40 pounds or 20% of your body weight (whichever is less). Pets and children under five must be carried or left behind to die.
Maybe some added fun:
>Post number means something. If you're driving and you can leave in ten minutes, your head start saves you. After that, you'll hit some traffic: posts ending in 5 or 0 are in a hopeless jam and must abandon their vehicle and fight. Last number in the post after you is how many zombies you have to kill to escape (zero is zero, not ten). Could you reasonably do it? Assume slowish zombies and head trauma to kill.
>If you're on foot, and can leave in ten minutes, you get overtaken if your post ends on a 3, 6, or 9. After that, you're overtaken on a 2, 4, 6, 8, or 0. Same deal as above on how many you have to fight.
>If dubs, you're immune to zombieism and they won't attack you no matter what. If the poster after you has to fight, you can kill up to five of his zombies for him (assuming you want to).
>If trips or higher, you get zombie control powers, they won't attack you (unless you want them to), plus you can add or subtract up to ten zombies on each of the next three posters after you, even if they should've gotten away safe (this does not override dubs, though).
i'd stay in my home, hiding in the basement as long as possible. then, i'd make my way to a bunch of abandoned houses in kent city, MI. i used to live around there and my current home is only like 45 minutes away. this would be risky, but hey why not.
i think its great
Spent waaaaay too much time thinking on this. But hardcore loner innawoods winter survivalist. Obviously I wouldn't carry EVERYTHING on me, but if my shelter was to go bye-bye, hopefully this is everything I had stashed away along with a source of renewable/stored food & water.
Pretend to be one of them and survive
Will head into the Adirondack mountains, plenty of fresh water and game
Honestly nobody should be lying... No one would be able to survive innawoods by themselves
Taser to subdue people who try to fight, take their stuff and leave, hopefully not trying to kill them unless it has to come to that
Going for long-range tactics, never want to be too close to a gunfight or zambies in my opinion
Silenced everything obviously, Would be using knife and pistol for close range encounters.
Full body clothes to protect from bites a bit, but this will make it harder to protect against humans because I don't have any Kevlar
Give myself the "Workers and Peasants red Army" badge just so that hopefully people would know that I'm not shitrat bandit
Will always search for food and shit in hardware stores or whatever, that'll probably be the death of me though...
>TL;DR I probably thought too much about this
Only stuff around the house. I'd probably head north as far as my truck would get me. Backroads only, of course

There of course would be better arrangement of items IRL, but this is a basic guide to what I'd be carrying on me. Luckily for me, I'm married so my wife would be carrying whatever else that I can't carry on me.
The only thing I don't own in the picture is the M1A, but I'm looking to buy a .308 rifle relatively soon so that will fix that. (Just not sure if it will be an M1A)

>>17248301
Posting only what I have reasonably quick access to.
I have a bugout plan that works fairly well when converted to a z-day scenario: If we survive getting out of dodge there's a cabin built into the side of a hill a half-hour drive outside of town; the cabin itself isn't big but it's basement extends a bit into a small cave system where we've got food/supplies and a workshop for misc purposes.
After the initial wave, we'd work on zombie elimination and supply gathering; we'd prioritize nearby towns and try to rally any survivors into hunting raids; the more dead zeds, the better.

A pot is a versatile tool. It's functionally a bucket, to contain and move many kinds of things (water, mud, sand, snow). It also protects crushables within the pack.
If he finds water, he's going to want to boil it to kill microbes and parasites. If he finds food, he's going to need something to cook it in. Considering his knit cap, I'm going to assume it's winter where he is. That means the kinds of food he'd be able to scrounge up would be tough plants and tough meat. An hour of boiling would make those a lot more edible.

Gave myself the handicap of two doctor bags because of my chronic lung problem. Other than the MP5, silencer, and thermal vision, it's all stuff I have. Plus, I know a place where I can get all 3 of those things near my home. I would honestly probably try to survive in the mountains by hunting, farming potatoes, and fishing. Honestly I probably could not kill a person (maybe if they were threatening me with weapons or something). The MP5 is for zombies and intimidation only. could probably have fit a tazer but unrealistic.

I have no way to legally obtain a gun
Same as >>17265149, but more realistic. I have a car so I can store more guns, food, and shit. Plus I can set up shelter far in the woods.
At the moment I have about half a gallon of gas in the car which can take me about 20 cities away from where I am now on a full tank.
>inb4 grenade being realistic
that's my lucky hollowed out grenade
