This. It's obvious that when the number of humans increase, the number of animals decrease.

Also reincarnation doesn't work like that. The whole universe goes into a cycle of rebirth. It always existed and will always exist, there's no start or end.

When you die you become the larvae that will be made from your brain cells. From the larvae to another animal that's made from the larvae cells and so on.

The energy, spirit, moves on. It doesn't float in space, just like the energy in your computer doesn't float around.

When earth dies, you and everyone else will be just motionless energy, until it gets used again by a new star or planet or on the next cycle of rebirth.

Of course it gets complicated if you believe in other planes of existence.

Like for example. An ant is not aware of the human world, because of it's "resolution" of the world. The ant lives in a plane below us. Just like the cell in your body, that is not aware of the body lives in an even below plane.

I see it from a mathematical perspective. If humans reproduce at an exponential level, then all these new souls, even if they're not ready to incarnate into a human life, will most probably do it, because hey, it's a human body, just look at how much you're capable of doing and experimenting in order to increase the quality of your consciousness.
