>Temple of Solomon the King:
MEGA library update in last thread put it at 33.8 gb, 476 folders, and 5047 individual texts or files.
Drive library includes Levenda's "Sinister Forces" and "The Hitler Legacy" now, in the ParaHypnosis folder.
Hara Hara Mahadev!
Jai Jai Maa!
Evening, Aghori! Glad to see you're still floating about.
See you, ill be sure to suck some demon cock while in there. Its been my dream for ages!
Also, i gor a price on the translation of briham nila tantra, 270 pages. 10,000€
It not like i even wanted it transelated, hahaha... Ha...
I thought you wanted to be a householder?
>implying any "loving" or "just" God would condemn anyone to infinite retribution in the Lake of Fire for the finite "crime" of not thinking Yeshua ben Yosef is the sole redeemer of Man.
That God sounds like a complete twat and deserves no worship.
How does come close to the usual going rate of ~20 cents a word? I mean you need a specialist but between the price of Indian labor and how cheap translation is anyway, that's some bullshit.
I didnt find any other service that sees to offer sanskrit trnaslation. Ill search more, but im most likely to set up some sort of site where anyone who knows or is studying sanskrit can contribute. Like a non orofit organization dedicated to translating these things, so many are left untranselated.
Cause most of this could be slowly transelated by anyone studying indology.
I just dont know how id soread word about it, but we'll see, with maa's help ill do it.
Life choices are hard senpai ;-; i didnt even apply to college yet, and am pressured by both family and iverall culture to have a waifu and children. But then, i want to reach the source, and stay with maa for eternities, and escape rebirth.
Just fuck me up senpai desu.
I'm only familiar with the foibles of translation in general, specifically academic and philosophical texts. The problem is that you need not only a translator but a practicing student of the subject at hand with dhyana on the matter. It also helps to have a universal vocabulary which is lacking from both buddhism and indology in the Western canon. The subjects are often dense but colloquial, and the difference in quality is akin to reading crowley versus reading a shitty translation of anything that came from german.
Experts in sanskrit and pali aren't rare by any means, but in the west, where the translation needs to come from, they all tend to have drank the kool aid and don't want to share or are just money hungry charlatans. Geisthaunted motherfuckers.
You don't want shit translations. You don't want group translations. The flaws of one man are manageable for the singular vision provided.
Come to think of it, 10 grand for a work of this magnitude isn't entirely unreasonable. It's a philosophical treatise and not twilight fanfiction, which means it requires an academic translation with copious footnotes. One could dash off a rough translation in a matter of months, but technical manuals aren't so simple.
The nonprofit route sounds the most fruitful.
Given advancements in educational psychology and computer aided learning techniques, not to mention the fact that we're all fucking wizards here, you could actually learn the gist of sanskrit in about six months with a minimum of daily practice. Maybe another year after that to get the technical vocabulary used. I picked up a language in 3 months on duolingo.
Yeah, what im thinking is to divide the whole document in oages of two, and do the same with other tantras i have. Then make a nice site for it, with a forum or some sort of chat, and a system where users can compete in how much they transelated.
Id prob figure out qhere to advertise first thiugh, school where theres a string indology study would be a good choice i guess, maybe forums where sanskrit is the subject? Ill think about it. But if i go that route ill try to not limit it to tantras but also other untranselated texts. There so fucking many, i have a stash of fifty documents each over 200 pages long, from different school of tantra including the vaishnavites.
I'm always back and forth between Hebrew and Greek. Been idling on some Avestan. My copy of Kaulajnananirynaya's not bad for learning bits and pieces with the side-by-side, romanization, and specialized glossary.
Mah nigga. If you want help with that, I'll be in these threads from now on. I would love to help a fellow 4channer with this kind of thing. Also, you'll like a lot of the ideas one can build with Arabic. It influenced Persian, which influenced much of the Hindustani language.
Nah im fine. Ots my 3rd years studying and all that lacks is talking and listening practice. I know a shit ton of vocabulary, i just need to have more than two hours of convo every week.
Funny you mention Farsi, since I have a Dari dictionary. It's amazing how this shit works out, but I got a lot of books on languages. Every one has a reason for being in my collection. What sucks is when I try to stick to one to learn to fluency, but then something drags me back to another couple of languages. I was pissed when Iran and Saudi Arabia started to go at it, mostly because I was trying to master Japanese. I'm sure that is very selfish, but it's a "being a linguistophile" problem.
Cool shit dude. I had a whole system of occultism built with a Arabic base, with everything from grade names to ritual signs. I lost all the work because of a computer issue that wasn't even a real issue. It sucks.
One of the concepts I came up with is the magic circle as a graveyard or "madfan" for the Qlipphot.
Linguistics is one of my minors so I'm competent to the point of being able to puzzle bits of a LOT of languages but never got genuinely conversational in any I study so I know those feels, m8y.
Yeah, immersion's the only thing that makes the shit really stick, which is probably a large chunk of why I'm not conversational in anything.
I was watching movies that caught my fancy tonight- I'd highly recommend "Frequencies" (2013).
I keep seeing what I try to say said better by someone else before me every time I say it.
Perhaps I've accidentally intercepted Edgar Allen Poe's ka or something.
The jewel just keeps unfolding the more I look at it, but sort of in reverse. Hugely entertaining, but I'm not sure how much longer it'll be before I forget to tie my shoelaces.
Thank god I wear boots!
Yup. O learnt english and spanish only because my parents invested in me when i was a child and i had aupairs from both spain amd english talk with me non stop. Just grew into those two languages. And polish was spoken at home. Pretty dank cause it makes learning languages for me much easier, guess my brain was shaped for it by the early introduction to learning languages.
My list after atabic is probably sanskrit, and then maybe tibetan. After that no clue.
If Ojas flows downwards (and out of you?) when you're aroused, does that mean that you can't watch porn/edge?
Also, I'm pretty sure Ojas only actually leaves the body when you stroke the cock, not when you're aroused.
It does , but it flows down and leaves the head, and it has to go up. Also, edgying and kama agni still are bad for spiritual growth cause they cause reversal of prana flow back down, and also kama agni kills both jathar and bhuta agni.
Any opinion on poke runyon?
Personally do not have one but have found his pod cast on kabbalah to be interesting and informative.
I'd recommend a person give it a listen if they are in curious. Don't know how the rest of his material pans out.
Ez. In the mega of ape theres a file under shiva in the eatern folder titler "tantra tantrik puja.pdf" or smthn. I has pujas ofganesha.
Also research shivashakti.com, they might have some info. Idk anything specific abt ganesha as i was never interested in him. Ill try to gather i fo on his tantra and if i find it ill add it to the mega.
There are numerous ways. First is seeing every woman as your mother, or as a skeleton. Just imagine the corporeality of them. They are all just skin and bones. Or try to imagine everyone how they will look like in 300 years. Slowly, once it become second nature to you, you wont get as aroused allthe time. For me, seeing every woman as my mother works and also develops a sort of love for everything, as i see everything as maa. I really love this oractice.
Vamamarga is my way senpai. And for me it is shiva and shakti that is truly real. Ganesha is just another manifestation of shiva. Vamamatga isnt that bad if you realize that your deity is the source of creation and that everything is the deity, and thus even shit and piss is the deity. Everything is holy.
The external puja is the internal one. You worship ganesh, but truly you worship yourself. You are ganesh because as your tantric deity he is the brahman. He is the everything. Thus external puja is internal because the macrocosm (external) is the microcosm (interneal) and vice versa. Internal puja is usually done when you realize yourself as the deity, when you become one wth it. Then there is no need for external puja because you can worship yourself simply by enjoying pleasures or through simple acts like japa.
Vajrayana has a lot of inner puja though, try to read some of their stuff and look for the pattern in the sadhanas. Then just apply the pattern to the mantras of ganesha and there you have a purely internal puja, and itll be completly sattvik too.
That is the greatest attitude you can have. Keep it that way. You will get ganesha if you just keep loving and longing for him that way.
Untill you find what you look for,, chant ganeshas mantra, and do everything with bhakti - be completly devoted to him. Everything you do, offer it to ganesha. When you eat- imagine ganesha eating. When you enjoy something - imagine ganesha enjoying it. This is one of the greatest ways to increase the longing you feel. You will achieve the greatest yoga if you do this, and also practice sadhana.
I love to see somone who has the right attitude.
Also, the best way i know to worship, is to join external and internal puja. Do a simple external right, call the deity, offer a candle and some incense. Possibly make a small altar somehwere, nothing has to be shiny, symbollic is good.
Offer some sweets maybe or whatever ganesha likes, and then sit in a good pose that is stable and start chanting the ganesha mantra. Whilst you chant it, feel the intense love you have ganesha. Call him through the words of the mantra. Imagine how he looks, what he wears, how big he is.
This is the easiest sadhana for almost all deities. It works wonders and can be done by anyone with no initiation.
You would make a great disciple for somone, think about visiting india one day and searching for a guru.
Svoboda has some in his 1st book on aghora, and also the file titled "aghora ebook draft" in the mega also has some info on it in the first chapters.
Apart from that idk, most of what i learnt was by my guru. Always remember there are fires though, you cant have too much of all cause youll burn, or too little of all cause youll freeze.
Its a part of it but the powers arent the goal. Controlling minor deities and soirits is not a part really, you evoke them and please them, sometimes have exchanges for information. The goal is to unify with your deity, be it vishnu shiva or ganesha. Unless youre a filthy dualist vaishnava tantrik, then idk, youre just weird then.
I cant have disciples as i am myself not fully initiated. I simply know some things. I can help you out on the path as a guide, but im not a master nor have i achieved anything. I simply long for my Maa and love my guru.
Its all shakti anyways, but for mere orecision i worship tara, the same tara that is in tibetan buddhism, except in her wrathfull form. As smashan or ugra tara.
read everything you can, starting with wikipedia, then anything ese you can find, ending with root texts such as bhagavad gita, vjnana bhairava tantra, agamas, nigamas etc,
anything that doesnt have the slightest connection with isckon is generally good. isckon a shit.
nah, its just that it has barley anything to do with hinduism. Its seriously just christianity with the face of india as lube.
they twisted the bhagavad gita so much, absicly every teaching they have is twisted and has nothing to do with vaishnavism or hinduism. Nothing wrong with Krishna himself though, just Isckon and prabhupada. fuck prabhupada
Anyone in the mood to hit up Gaap and get to know what the fucks going on?
apparently hes involved in this gril suicide, and since she wrote in perfect latin whilst never learning latin in her life, seems legit enough to me.
I've been working on notes for the Dragon Book of Essex still. Almost ready to comment on the Rite on Apr. 30th.
As of now I've completed exegesis on a little more than half the 800+pg text.
Stupid goy, of course it's not real. Anyone who reads the right books of Qabalah knows it's not real. The deluded masses of course think they can perform miracles, but this is pure hogwash. Thanks for the bump though.
Why? We wanna talk about the phenomenology of religion and ritual, as well as esoteric aspects of various religious systems.
I don't care if people buy magic as a force of nature or as the psychological model, of which huge amounts of material, including about 1k academic texts in the library, has been published.
Kabbalah tended to denounce sorcery, for the most part, through about 13-1400. You're right though that most of Kabbalah is atheistic in nature, as Ain, the highest emanation of God, is simply nothing. Void. An empty throne.
Well anon, when a mommy and daddy love each other VERY VERY much, they give each other a special hug, and then nine months later a baby's born.
I'll tell you more when you're old enough to read some of my medical books :3
you read comic books? I think that Alan Moore's lates may have been influenced by the DBOE, although all i know about it is what you've said in some of these threads i've skimmed. IT's a reworking of some lovecraft stories, the plot revolves around a small cult of seemingly sinister star worshippers and a book, the Kitab Al-Hikmah Al-Najmiyya. First issue featured an occult scholar giving a discourse on melek taus for reasons that remain obscure.
Meanwhile Grant Morrison's latest, Nameless is heavily influenced by Kenneth Grant. see pic
>Ain, the highest emanation of God, is simply nothing. Void. An empty throne.
yes, but God as in the Character was also real, so i wouldn't call it atheistic
"With the Beginning the unknown concealed one created the palace.
This palace is called God.
The secret is: "With Beginning __________ created Elohim"
Yeah, I read comics, but not much any of Moore or Grant. Used to read Moore, but dude's kind of a twat and I don't wanna give any more cash to the guy. And I keep trying to get into Grant, but just can't.
I think Grant has ties to Typhonians so it's not unfeasible to think he knows a couple of CS practitioners.
RE: Tesseracts and Xibola in the mind, one part Malkut and three Iesod, dude MAY be hinting at the form of the A.'.A.'. Temple, but that's kinda conjecture and I need to tinker with AC's illustrations in the Warburg microfilms for any hard answers on that end.
>I think Grant has ties to Typhonians
you don't say...
Just because you think Lam was a grey doesn't, necessarily, make you a Typhonian...look at our resident Christfriends like Pet3r.
My point is rather that he actually physically runs with those circles and advocates AC's practices along with the implication that Lam was a grey.
>Lam was a grey
>Just accept it.
Is there any benefit to joining a secret society besides circlejerking with other nutjobs? The closest thing in the area that isn't straight masonry are the local heathens and I just don't like building shit in the woods and doing mushrooms all that much.
>he thinks I think AC was the messiah!
Highly depends on what's local to you; are you in or near a major metro area? If yes, it may be worth your while.
If not, you'll quickly find that if you actually dedicate a couple years to this shit, you'll rapidly be head and shoulders above the granola munching vegans at the pagan meet & greet in your friendly local fair trade coffeehouse :^)
The local heathens are no joke and take shit very seriously. The galdramaðr that runs the whole thing is on a whole different level. I'm just not hot on all the needlessly masculine calisthenics and physical labor or the tranny gangbangs around the fire.
That demon really wanted to play by the rules. Why are people so scared of it? It's only harmful when you buy into it being so.
People should stop summoning demons for the answers to life and start summoning them to go to Starbucks with.
I dunno where you are m8 so pardon my jocular tone.
If you think it won't be fruitful, don't bother. Keep your head down, and Work.
Self initiation's totally a thing, you just gotta work a bit harder than your peers.
Well, we don't have direct observation in it yet, but if/when we do, I imagine it'd largely have to do with the name it's designated, ESPECIALLY if the orbit of the thing doesn't really pass close to us as implied by the illustration in the article.
IMHO, it'll really hinge on the size and how close it comes to the rest of the solar system. If it's as big as projected, it could have some significant occult impact provided it gets as close to us as, like, Eris or Sedna or Orcus. Eris could be worked, it just ain't. Pluto ain't either for the most part.
Feel like Haumea's probably remnant of something larger so likely wouldn't have as large an effect as other similar sized TNOs.
Yeah, Senda's too far out, we're getting so many TNOs it's hard to keep track of.
If Planet 9's big but as far out as Sedna, it'll largely be irrelevant, I think, other than possibly perturbing some ice chunks in the Oort Cloud.
No. First, there is no "good karma" or "bad karma". Only karma.
Second, you can't remove what karma is there until you've ceased accumulating it, at least according to the Jains, which I'm inclined to agree with.
Do you have like an actual critique or you just here to spam your little alt-right maymay?
Fascism was once an alt-right maymay in the mind of a manlet Italian teacher who was cucked out of a medal. Don't be so fucking arrogant because the future looks very uncertain.
Karma is not "what goes around comes around" or "threefold rule". It's much more passive than that.
It's like dust that obscures the diamond of Atman. It doesn't make bad thing happen to you if you're a meaniehead or reward you if you're Nice Guy™.
This isn't Christism we're dealing with.
>the guy who dismisses all of Jainism as being "cucks" with zero explication is lecturing someone else about arrogance
I mean, it appears that way in some Vedic material but they're not the only or final commentators on the subject.
I prefer Jainism for it's lack of retribution or reward.
I'm not sure how all this works in Buddhism because it's the Hindu mode I'm least familiar with.
Well, again, thanks for the perspective.
I think I'll keep my Jain outlook of "it's not bad, any more than rain on a cold day or a toxic animal, it's simply best avoided."
Karma is the universal law of cause and effect. It's the statement that every event, every moment is an event preceded by and antecedent to myriad other moments. One wants to limit their karmic impact in a way that prepares them to divide by zero or do other mental mathematics.
Now that's actually interesting, pardon, we get some folks around here that claim Vaishnavism but are really just Christians trying to moralize and proselytize.
In Jainism, really the only causality it implies is over transmigration of the soul, rather than causality in and of itself.
I have extreme distaste for other perspectives on karma as it seems like an excuse for Westerner's to cling to their concepts of sin and cosmic spankings for having badwrongthoughts.
Rather than a retributive force, it's more thought of as...say snow that weighs down the branches of a tree, or dust obscuring the luster of a gemstone.
You don't think their translations are a bit...fucky?
Not at all. Prabhupada's translations were the most accurate. Most if not all previous translations of the Bhagavad-Gita were pure Mayavadi philosophy. Of course, he also contributed the monumental works of Srimad-Bhagavatam (bhagavata purana) and Chaitanya Charitamrta.
You can of you stop identifying with your karma. Once you isentify with the absolute and reach shivata, there is no more karma.
And side note >>17248866 this
Why jains senpai? Why is ahimsa so important ;-; its just like the religion of cucks, but i might be wrong. I never delved into the sytem. Are jains dualists? Why the no meat eating etc? Sin? Whyyy ;-;
Its not dust on the atman because it comes from the atman. Everything is atman meaning shiva&shakti. Its simply that you identify it (be ause the main force of you is shakti)
Thats vedas. Theyre dualist as fuck. FUCK DUALISM YOU LAZY PIECE OF SHIT YOU JUST CANT COMPREHEND ADVAITA FUCK YOU ALL
Just fuck off
Ok im done advaita memeing. Love ya all.
Jai Jai Maa!
Reading up a bit on this. It's estimated to be at least 600 au out. An au is the distance from the earth to the sun. For comparison pluto is only 40 au out from the sun. Seeing how it is 20x the distance that Neptune is, I don't think it will impact anything. And seeing how it has a 15,000 year orbit there wouldn't be much to adjust for within the span on human history.
Fellas i coouldn't make it before the last thread closed, so i'll have to ask it again. Sorry if you'll have to read it, but i can't find it in the 4plebs.
I don't understand the Alphabet of Desire. I get that it's supposed to be a kybalionish representation of transmuting one emotion into the other, but the pactical process is seriously lost on me.
Can someone who's more in depth with Spare or Carrol lay down some ABC for me?
How do you tell if someone is initiated? I have suspicions from time to time but they never speak the language. For the sake of discussion, initiated means practicing and benefiting from the fruits of an occult or esoteric system. I'm excluding general knowledge of esoterica or accepted exoteric practices because that does not an initiate make.
There is no magical way to tell if someone practices. If they've got some jewelry or tattoos that heavily imply that they do you can ask about those. You can broach the subject by talking about something safe like mindfulness. But what ever it is that makes you think they practice, ask about that.
Is there a set of skills or things that every great magician should know? Like
>Two or more systems of divination
>Astral projection and/or shamanic journeys
>At least one system of invocation and evocation
>Energy work and psychic self defense
>History and Lore of their system(s)
>Basic herbalism and/or energy healing
>A system of simple magic, like sigil magic or candle magic, for general tasks
Anything to add, /omg/? I was thinking also
>One system of astrology and basic knowledge of astronomy
>General gem/crystal/metal/mineral knowledge
>General knowledge of symbols, writing systems, etc.
sigil work is meh. as above so below, reach far enough into the depths of your own mind and you'll find the whole of creation.
The various orders and organizations all have their own grade system by which to measure attainment. Pretty much everything listed there is covered under HOGD course work. I'm fairly certain oto and AA have their own grades as well.
The biggest problem I can see with the premise, though there are several, is attempting to find a plateau. A place in your studies where you can stop and say "ah ha I've really got it now."
But it doesn't work like that all. The rabbit hole goes down forever, as long as you'd like to keep learning, to keep experiencing new things, there will always be something else to play with.
As far as personal discretion in such matters go, set that bar wherever you want. Associate with whomever you please. There will never be an industry standard for magic, and even if there was it would be widely ignored.
since im on a path of learning here, would it be theoretically possible to summon and enslave an angel, rather than a succubus?
Do goody servant seems more attractive in my mind than something that would be a slut anyways
Well, now, it depends if you want to play that game.
The "powers that be" play the game by the rules, and you can fuck yourself up pretty good doing that. If you're ok with the risk, then by all means, leap in, but there are much gentler games you could play that are just as fun.
Regarding the summoning and binding of angels:
Open one pint of ether, then seal it tightly, and place it below a figurine of the Virgin.
Bestow upon the place whatever trappings you see fit, but keep flame from the room.
Let the course guide you to the Virgin herself, and recognize her as such.
Once this is done, pour the ether into an earthen vessel. Until such time as the ether has evaporated, you will have for all intents and purposes bound the essence you desire.
So what game are we playing senpai?
Also, enslaving an angel is simply put it - dumb. Its better to evoke and ask, and maybe do a bit of worship. Itll take you less time and youll have a relationship instead of an enemy. Why be an asshole? Also, why would you enslave any spirit? Just fucking ask nicely and trade. Unless you really like to get fucked in the ass.
I got it but the room doesnt exist anymore. I reloaded and
Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Sanskrit already and 700 pages left to go.
Anyway what is your practice called?
Well wikipedia brings up some wicked shit about that, but somehow you don't strike me as cannibal. Tell me a bit about, quick history, major beliefs and practices, and most important teacher/books?
There are no books, but anything on tantra will explain some things.
Tje cannibalism isnt for the sake of cannibalism. Its a way to realise that the essence of the dead body is the same as any vegetable or anything else. Absolutely nothing wrong with it aside from your prior belief that its wrong. Ive done that whilst with my guru in india.
Anyhow, for me all is shiva. Nothing in the wrold and all of creation isnt shiva. And thus nothing is unholy. I love shiva fully, and thus i love the world. But the created world we experience is shakti - the feminine aspect of shiva. And i love everything as her as my mother
Well that's pretty hardcore.
Are there aspects of shiva you work with, or is it just going straight for the all and all?
Destruction aspects. Anything in particular you want to burn down?
Not at all destruction. Death is the beginning of life, isnt it? Without death no life could be, without the nothing, something would have nowhere to exist.
I worship the root of all creation - shakti in form of tara, and mahakala - the great void, lord of death himself. I seek to end my samsara.
my pantheon gets really complex at some points but boils down to this: Shiva is the unmanifest, the nondual. from shiva split shakti - and this was the big bang. She then manifested in all forms. she is the giver and taker of life, she is basicly change - time. her attribute is change, because as she created things they had to change. shiva is the sta le, he is the void.
if that makes sense to you.
Been studying up on the Golden dawn material lately. Pantheons within pantheons, Spirits with the same name appearing in different pantheons supposedly as different powers.
But yeah, makes sense to me.
Help me understand something here:
So the way I understand it, the way a ritual/sigil/charm works is by focusing on a symbol representing an intent (without the intent itself, IE you pray to Mars to win a competition) during a period where your conscious mind shuts off, which is achieved by meditation, or intense sensations such as pain or pleasure.
So a basic money ritual could be:
1. I build a altar, or sigil, representing wealth (to me).
2. I forget the original intent behind whatever I built.
3. I induce pain and focus on the sigil or whatever I made to represent my intent.
4. I destroy everything related to the ritual and forget.
Is this correct?
If so, what is the point of unwilling sacrifices and such? Is it just to further convince yourself of the ritual's power?
There are many, many different theories on what magic is and why it works, when it works.
The "fire and forget" method is a relatively recent creation specific to chaos magic. And building an altar to something, then forgetting why you built an entire altar seems a bit on the impossible side.
And while people trying to get money from magic is nothing new. joseph smith was trying to ask the enochian angels for the location of treasure when he supposedly had his vision of Mormonism.
fuck out of here with that indiana jones shit
No, fuck that. Focus on wealth directly without some gay little sigil. Use affirmations to program the energy and visualize your intent.
If you want wealth, I don't see how pain and blood would help you. You can try to invoke Jovial or Venetian energy if you want money.
Same name/different power is USUALLY a function of the four Kabbalistic worlds: the correspondences change as you hop Trees.
Honestly the "idea" of magic is more powerful than magic itself.
It's a perfect benchmark for mind-control and persuasion. If you can convince someone of the existence of literal magic, then you can convince them of anything. That's power in and of itself.
A lot of folks make that analog but I try not to.
Think of it more like the Saivist perspective on Tattvas. Pic related.
Yeah, and the shades, tones, and qualities thereof. Also, a tool to help standardize astral experiences, in the later Hermetic Kabbalah, though an argument could be made that the Hekhalot literature was doing this as well.
While doing shamanic journeying, are you actually doing astral projection? Or are the two separate?
When I do journeys I can speak to otherworldly entities, but I don't feel a disconnect from my body, don't see a silver cord, can't fly, etc.
What is, metaphysically, the difference between the two?
I was referring to animals and shit, I never even seen Indiana Jones
I just used wealth as an example, and I also used pain as an example of something to shut your conscious mind off.
>knowledge (of) God
Yeah, if you read up on Aryeh Kaplan's comments on Hebrew contemplative practices it becomes pretty clear that Kabbalah's essentially a Jewish form of yoga.
Eh, in later comment, yes, but the early material seems to be that sort of foundational taxonomy of mystical experience, for example Hekhalot Rabbati's just explaining the palaces of God on the way to the On High. Then Zohar, while really large, can kinda be reduced to an anatomy of the body of God, a term borrowed by Frater Achad, iirc.
Depends on what exactly you're doing. My easy and non-in depth answer would be they're the same.
I dunno how much I buy into the cord of silver. I stopped seeing it very shortly after I got srs about praxis.
But the detail answer definitely depends on what exactly you're doing in terms of shamanism (as in what tradition), and the qualities of the visions.
nonsense, has nothing to do with anything
super powers are more a lucid dreaming thing
>disconnect from my body
relaxation, sometimes heaviness, disconnect isn't strictly necessary, it's more that you just stop paying attention to your body, ignoring it. not entirely disconnected from it.
>difference between the two
method used to enter the state, what you're working with generally, and location
If i get disturbed whem meditating, isnt that missingthe loint if the oractice? If i want to be alone ill just be obscene. Its easier. And fun.
Also, getting drunk in general, could not count the benefits with my body oarts. Sucks the liver cant take it though.
Jai jai maa!
I thought that usage was outdated as fuck...like nowl or stang for nail or pole.
Really it's whatever. If I wanted to have a semantics/pragmatics/semiotics discussion I'd have made gone to /his/ and made a thread.
Does it hinder spiritual growth to have hatred towards certain people? I try to meditate and exercise to get rid of anger and tension, but there's a lot of shit I read every day that pisses me off.
it does just show lack of spiritual growth, but at the same time its pointless to fight the signs of disease. if you try to treat anger and hate - youll get rid of the headache. but the sickness is still there and these will arise in different places. quit playing whack a mole and focus on meditation for the sake of spiritual growth, not making life easier and less stressfull. otherwise youre better off buying a massage
Hara Hara Mahadev!
Does anybody here masturbate to porn? I love it but after I jerk off I feel weak and my mind feels cloudy. I gave it up because i feel like it's unnatural and a tool to make people weak and it's partially why our society is so obsessed with sex in my opinion.
I have zero fucking clue what your post has to do with occultism and/or magick especially when we've got, and have had, multiple regulars who practice sexual magick as well.
I was more referring to the implication of masturbation making people weak and degrading society.
Because A.O. Spare seemed like such a weak person, right?
Hey, Senator. How's things?
>not amplifying them and immediately consuming them for integration back into your system after emission, combined with menstrual or otherwise vaginal fluids
Bro, do you even ouroboros?
>Just because you think Lam was a grey doesn't, necessarily, make you a Typhonian
Oh, I know, I only meant to express that i wasn't surprised that he was, not that it was obvious that he was.
Incidentally, I don't think that panel is Grant claiming lam was a grey. In the invisibles at least the pattern seems to be an initiation of ritual death and rebirth with new powers, the specifics of which vary from culture to culture. When it's a godless working class british kid doing drugs in an abandoned subway terminal it's aliens, when it's a transgender shaman it's a confrontation with the mayan death god etc. A bit like what eliade said, although i suspect anthropologists now are down on that sort of thing. Actually, does anyone know what the modern antrhopology suggests about the plurality or universaility of these sorts of initiation visions? It does fit an experience I had when fucking around with an improvisational initiation ritual. Except I didn't get any fucking magic powers!
Stfu you autist. He was talking about masturbating to pornography, not sex magic in general. Learn to fucking read.
Ya, porn is a cancer on society that should be not-so-surgically removed. And this is coming from a guy who used to be addicted to that filth.
I mean, you can find salvation in a salt-shaker, why not in pornography?
It's all about the angle at which you contemplate the gem. Some are better than others, but not for every ego.
>enlightened totalitarianism to show us all the error of our ways.
That's right. It's inevitable, so you better get on the right side of history if you don't want to get left behind.
>not the Kaula rite
You absolutely cannot put order into the world unless you put order into yourself. That was Hitler's big fucking problem, at least one of them.
I don't think reading about a Godform in a source text is going to tell you if they're efficacious or not. That's really only discerned through practice. Even then, some gods like certain people, and certain people are more inclined to get responses from certain gods.
At least as far as Kabbalah's concerned, the Godnames come out of Old Testament plus Pseudoepigrapha alongside the Merkava, Hekhalot, and similar literatures.
For calling upon an angel, does one need to do much of any ritual? Would a simple "Hey, Michael, I'm scared as shit and I think that there's some majorly bad juju going on here; could you halp plox?" suffice to get help?
It would take about the same amount of time to belt out LBRP if you're competent in it, so work on that before you just pray.
Orthodox too. Maybe some obscure groups like Beguines or some Gnostic sects like Mandeans.
A E S T H E T I C S
What works is a question of the aesthetic relative to the operator and setting. Or rather the relationship between the three. Dee has elizabethan & alchemical elements working in his favor. Even then it is difficult to outdo the catholic spectacle which is some powerful stuff on all levels. Really goes deep.
Still up but not really filled out. I've got like 40ish pages of letters and personal notes that haven't really gone up yet.
I just finished going through and identifying the Mothers and Fathers of the Witchblood.
>That was Hitler's big fucking problem, at least one of them.
Despite your hippy-dippy libshit brainwashing, Hitler was a great individual and probably had more mental order than your scat wizard AC.
He was always consistent and never wavered in his ideals.
>Even then, some gods like certain people, and certain people are more inclined to get responses from certain gods.
So if I share the element/planet of a god, we're more likely to get along? Or is it more of an opposites attract kind of thing?
>hippy dippy libshit
Ok, I mean, we'll ignore my copy of Codex Fascismo is absolutely jam-packed with my approving marginal notes, but sure, I'm an SJW, whatever helps your narrative, friend-o.
^I like you. Seem like you know what's what. New here?
Dee/Kelley standardized using Agrippa which really isn't prayer when you start getting into the planetary and stellar magick.
I know that it's not prayer, I'm asking if there's any particular advantage to not using Dee's method for dealing with angels. Like, why use magic and shit, why not just ask? Especially with angels.
Been here on and off for too long. Finally had some things finish simmering and precipitate. One has to find his own aesthetic. Outside of it there is only yearning and discomfort. Fraternal brotherhood forthcoming.
Why would the Angels of the Quarters, let alone YHVH, intervene into the life of someone they're not aware of.
God has to be aware you're exist to save you. I imagine much the same is true for the Angels. You're not going to get your girlfriend on the phone by dialing your insurance agent.
I've got a lot of like personal doctrinal feelpinions about the matter, having to do with the nature of these things in relation to entities like the Archons of Neoplatonism, but really it's going to come down to a matter of preference and perspective.
I have been keeping Resh for a while and I have been very pleased with the results it has given me so far. However I am beginning to feel that my practice is unbalanced. I am considering beginning a similar practice directed towards the moon. Does anyone know if there is a frequent, regular practice similar to Resh but for the Moon? I could just find a lunar prayer and read it when the moon is conjunct the ascendant, midheaven, 7th house cup and 4th house cup but the times that the moon is at those angles vary considerably from day to day, unlike the sun so I do not know how suitable they would be..
Which one is supposed to be purple? Be aware the correlation between the /pol/ meme and actual practice is slight.
Pick the one you like best, no specific order.
Jew god is far more workable.
Crowley once mentioned lunar adorations:
>But every student should make a point of saluting the Sun (in the manner recommended in Liber Resh) four times daily, and he shall salute the Moon on her appearance with the Mantra Gayatri. The best way is to say the Mantra instantly one sees the Moon, to note whether the attention wavers, and to repeat the Mantra until it does not waver at all.
>God has to be aware you're exist to save you
And how do you know he isnt aware of us? Because this affirmation disassemble what theology tell us since centuries ago about the omniscence of God.
Just back in the country so will reply to your messages soon K, cheers for all the info.
Illness has passed off, thankfully, just a cough left for now. Unfortunately a weeklong business trip and weeklong illness have left me a bit behind on the practice, but I'll get cracking again today and see where I am with it
The what now?
>Do you give any credence to only breathing through certain nostrils at certain times of the month?
Pranayama has never been an area I've known much about, but no, not really. GD has something like this called Moon Breath, where you breath through the left (iirc) nostril. I couldn't extract more than "I dunno lol" when I queried what this actually did (and why there wasn't a corresponding Sun Breath in the material), so who knows
actually, about breathing through one nostril - its completly true. and it changes naturally throughout the day. pay close attention once desu. youll always feel that one nostril breathes more during the day and one during the night. its jst how our energy system works.
It's to do with the ida and pingala kunalini channels. One inflame one pathway, the other the next.
Glad to hear you're OK, though you'd run screaming. Something that's been making me worry is that the ground may not be thawed enough for me to do Crimson Interstice with any reliability, but I could also maybe just pick up some potting soil and haul it to the Blood Acre.
The complete golden dawn system of magic. Got sent the knowledge lectures by EoGD years back, but the instruction and help that came along with that was negligible or counter productive.
Complete golden dawn system of magic does go on about the tattwas rather a lot in its run up to astronomy, and does talk a bit about moon breath-ida and sun breath pingala, but thus far not in a manner that is coherent or instructive.
>Glad to hear you're OK, though you'd run screaming.
Did get a bit freaked out by Black Moon, but I suspect it was in a large part because I wasn't feeling well, the flu knocked me flat on my ass. I was away all this week too, so this Mr Chumbley's Wild Ride had to take a backseat unfortunately.
We're 3 months in by this point, so I'd reckon we're past the point of no return anyway- lets keep going and see what happens.
Reading through your father/mother notes now, really fascinating. Looks like we were right to assume there would be more influences in there, the Mandaean stuff was something I didn't expect.
As for Zhamael, it'll be interesting to see if that actually IS the angel from Sepher Raziel - he seems a little out of place in that company, so I wonder.
>but I could also maybe just pick up some potting soil and haul it to the Blood Acre.
Yeah I really don't get how Andy thought outside rites were a good idea during winter, but there you have it. Fairly confident I can do HU indoors if needs be (though I'll have to fuck around with the circle structure a bit due to the shape of my room), but I'll scope out an outdoor location too.
Yeah it was never something I explored in any real depth while in GD, but my overall impression of some of that material was that Mathers & Co. were still kind of feeling their way through a lot of the material from India without much coherency, it's one reason the system is badly out of date by this point.
Looks like there'll be some warm days this week so I may just make a quick trip out there during a sunshine day and arrange everything I need to, dig up a few handfuls of dirt beforehand so they'll be ready to pile up on the 2nd.
I could just as easily do it indoors as well, but I'd like to try to get as core as humanly possible with all this shit.
Check the links I attached to my notes as well; the Zohar notes on Lilith are supremely important:
>fourteen infernal names
>associations with a "blind dragon"
potting soil is bad for the spirit, warm the ground with a bonfire before hand.
>badly out of date by this point
I don't disagree. Half my thoughts on the book so far are about how badly it needs to be edited. At very least converted to e-book format with a bit of hover over text to help explain some of the words used, with the tables formatted, and annotations for where the same word is used in the same context but spelled differently.
The ritual already calls for two bonfires, m8. I don't wanna attract TOO much attention to my location and intent.
I'll just be happier when the foliage fills out with springtime and I have to worry less about being seen.
I mean like stick it on the porch or something. My point is you want your seven offerings consumed by the fire...there's little work around I can think of for that. Doing the soil/plate thing is super clever but doesn't assuage what needs to be done for the Forge.
ACTUALLY holy shit, all the offerings on that point are/can be organic...you could just bake some Cakes of Light with a couple extra ingredients tossed in to sub out.
Interesting as I'd integrated Cakes of Light into my Black Moon rite.
Posted this in my own thread but I'll ask here as well.
I am a pretty open minded person and I am slightly curious about the occult and some of its rituals. I, personally, am a Christian and believe in the Christian God. To be fair I also believe in the possibility of other gods too. I am getting off track though, I think.
Where can I learn more about the occult? Is there anything like the occult for Christianity? I don't really want to summon a daemon or anything of the sort, you know.
Was told in my thread that occult doesn't mean what I think it means and I must be more specific, but I am not sure what to be specific about entirely.
The occult, in the most clear and simple terms I can manage, is a collection of practices for self transformation and the inner and outer manipulation of elements. It's a way for people with too much intellect to do what comes naturally to, but is squandered and left unfollowed in, others. It's about coming to know simple things on a fundamental level. What you do from there is up to you.
I'm not entirely sure either, really. I guess I'm just looking for something "different" but at the same time I want something safe that won't get me possessed by a daemon or some stuff like that.
Maybe I have a completely messed up view of whatever it is I'm talking about. My only real "information" comes from anecdotes from Christians that I grew up around who told me to stay away from such stuff.
>quoting the torah
>can't read it in Hebrew so he has no idea what it actually says
>quoting the torah and not the talmud
Don't be this guy
Gnostic folder in the mega
Or google around for some material on Waite's "Fellowship of the Rosy Cross"
Ok 2 questions for you namefags, and anons even
Is it possible to read death on someone's conscience? like that they killed another person or were involved in something similar?
how can you detect a person who is possessed or being followed by a spirit or demon?
also #3 how many dark priests are posing as catholic/christians?
1. Not with much certainty depending on the person, this is more the realm of psychology, though it's all one and the same for the most part.
2. A trained intuition
3. The word you're looking for is con artists and the answer is a lot but not as many as it would seem.
even if the person has forgotten, or whatever somehow. its distant in their past. can any palm readers, or whatnot simply look at a person and tell if they've killed or seriously harmed?
3rd question I mean how many luciferian/etc priests, are working in catholic/christian churches, presenting themselves as christian/catholic?
for question #2, what do you mean intuition? I've heard reports of seeing black "sprites" (if thats the word.. just some kind of shadow formation, maybe an orb, or something with a larger form. ) out of the corners of their eyes, trailing certain people. i actually believe this for some reason. also how is #1 psychology? are you thinking of being able to read guilt on someones mind, since I said "conscience"? I was more of referring to like a fortune-teller type "reading" of the person, not their psychology exhibiting symptoms of ill deeds.
All your questions revolve around the most mundane side of things. You train your unconscious mind and how to commune with it in whatever way necessary and listen to it. A skilled reader interprets signs as their mind sees fit. Anyone who has ever had a crazy ex girlfriend knows the chill you feel when you realize one is so possessed.
Tons. The Golden Dawn is probably a good starting point. Then you can go explore Dion Fortune, Israel Regardie, etc... Most of all of the non-chaos, non-thelemic, ceremonial magic stuff is Judeo-Christian with some hermeticism thrown in for show.
And Gnosticism in general is pretty much 90 percent or more Christian.
Everything the other anons said plus Mirror of Simple Souls and Molinos' Spiritual Guide.
Also maybe some Gnosticism like the Mandeans.
My ST practice has been sorta hit or miss; I'll be doing the tail tomorrow, don't know if that's just our normative time differential or if one of us is off a day. My calendar indicates that tomorrow's the middle day of the full moon.
I imagine the ST will standardize out more with the preliminary HU practices plus HU and particularly SA...that said, it's been producing some interesting dreaming, so there's that. So far the ones ringing clearest are the tongue, the right eye, the head, the spine, the left claw, the right wing, and both legs had some decent feels to them. The others were a bit meh, but I'm also learning the orations. Reminds me of starting up Resh, I didn't get major feels until maybe a couple weeks into the practice.
I should whip one up, there's tons of great occulty music.
It ain't, there's a whole library of it.
Do you think that it's possible for someone to read another person, one who is showing no emotional recourse from killing/violence, and for a person to still be able to see either of these deeds on somebody's "character"? I'm not talking about psychology AFAIK
oh my bad it's late i thought i never made this post
my bad for asking the same thing twice.
Never had a gf but I'm talking about real possession, not people with conduct issues.
i do occasionally, but i've been beating it sans porn lately, and i feel more in touch with my sexuality and what i want. i have certain fetishes, but without porn, i end up figuring out what i really want, as opposed to finding porn that'll turn me on via novelty.
also. all over fring and eight, people trying to proselytize for discordianism. There are very few ways to do discordianism wrong, but they've managed it.
>>move into circa early 1900's house
> >cleaning up before moving furniture in
> >find pennies in every corner of every room in house
> Can someone explain this?
Do you live in the south, or by the Appalachian mountains anon? That really sounds like some old southern style conjure/Hoodoo/Appalachian folk magic stuff. If I were you, I'd keep em where they lay, because that work protects your house.
