First was good and had a realistic touch to it. First tape was really spooky until she started fucking flying.

Second movie was not as well made. It just felt sloppy. Make up wasn't as good either

Haven't had a chance to watch V/H/S Viral but I hope they learned their lesson from V/H/S 2

The first two were good, but this one was made without anyone who actually worked on the others and, from the looks of it, with a fraction of the already small budget.

There were crap installments on each, but I think there was more on the first. The second was a little more consistent. There are better anthologies, but plenty worse as well.

Creepshow - classic 80s horror anthology
Trick r Treat - one of the best modern anthologies
Tale of Halloween - really uneven, but it has a few good segments

Whatever you do, don't watch ABCs of Death 2. If you get that far into horror anthology hell, you should turn back. It isn't worth it.

Only Hollywood creates these shitfest horror movies to which you refer. Try broadening your horizons. Asia has a great horror scene. Most Hollywood horrors these days are remakes of more successful "foreign" movies. There's also Cat 3 horrors, which are more like snuffgore porn. Lots of guts, not much plot. Not my cuppa tea, might be yours though.
