But you are hitting a nail with the wrong hammer. China can hardly be called a communist country. Since the end of the korean war, the relations between china and the USSR became more and more difficult, since China began to follow it's own agenda. There are multiple examples of this, for example Mao recognizing and opening diplomatic and economic relations with Pinochet, or meeting with Nixon. If you compare China with other countries of the region like Indonesia, Malasia and Singapur, all of them follow similar systems: undemocratic or barely democratic goverments where the state directs the market by allowing free enterprise under direct supervision of the ruling elite. China just happened to be the first one to mix this with the ruthless tactics of the soviet regime. Not even modern leftist thinkers, like Zizek or Chomsky, recognize china as communist, since it allows private property, profiting and speculation, and all of those are in direct opposition to the classic socialist dogma, even from before Marx.
Noboy denies the ties between the american elite and China, but whatever Clinton wants for America is far from communism, and more in line with the state capitalism that, ironically, is more similar to fascism than classic liberalism.
