Ii never here about this guy getting brought up in any true crime/unsolved crime threads

>investigation is lead by Joe Beattie, one of Scotlands best detectives

Which brings another point, the serial killer turning out to be a cop is a pretty big troupe in tv shows, books and movies, but are there any examples of this happening in real life?
