Drugs at most peel layers of the mechanism trough which consciousness works.
Everything you experience on drugs have to do with the mechanic of brain - it's biochemistry and you know that.
Most cases you get deluded from the experience.. but sometimes they might lead to a progressive series of introspections trough which you get more aware.. or you let go of social conditioning.
