His name was El Duce, aka Eldon Hoke. He was the guitarist/singer/drummer in several bands, most notably The Mentors. They invented the so-called Rape Rock genre. They are basically the only band in the genre, though some people have said that the likes of GG Allin and Anal Cunt belong in the genre as well.

He was an alcoholic, an opportunistic pedophile, an attention whore, and he was not very intelligent at all. Furthermore, his music was unoriginal, simplistic, childish, and not profitable by any measure. In other words, the guy was a degenerate loser. He was also known for his wild, unbelievable stories and penchant for jumping into the spotlight any chance he could. His one-time drunken insistence that he was approached by Courtney Love to kill Kurt Cobain should, at best, be taken with a grain of salt.

Now, in all fairness, he was said to be a pretty tough, mean guy. People who knew him said he could be sadistic and dangerous. It can not be wholly disbelieved that Courtney Love would approach him for a contracted murder. If anybody in her circle would be willing to kill for money, supposedly El Duce would be the guy.

But this story of his was just one of many stories he told. He was a known liar and exaggerator. Some people use the fact that he died accidentally two days after that interview as evidence of a coverup of murder. But this documentary was an exposé. Courtney Love would not have known about the interview only two days after it was recorded. The maker of the film did not take the video to Courtney. Furthermore, El Duce was a big guy. It would have taken several men to force him in front of a train. Again, he was a tough sumbitch. It wouldn't have been impossible, but it would have been very difficult.

Occam's Razor (for what that's worth) suggests that the guy was lying, then he coincidentally died under unusual and foolish, but not criminal, circumstances.

I can confirm this - I had TB of the bowels, which is considered one of the most severely painful diseases a person could have. After nine months with it where they couldn't diagnose the problem, I was honestly ready to die. Literally no painkiller can do anything but take the edge off, be theylegally or illegally obtained. It becomes so that you honestly don't feel that life is worth living anymore.

That doesn't mean that Courtney didn't kill him, and she's clearly a grade-A cunt, but there's also no reason to suspect that a chronically depressed heroin-addicted person in great pain wouldn't just shoot himself.
