I find it hard to believe. Things do not come out of sinkholes. Even in the videos online of sinkholes forming under lakes there is NO bubbling or air escaping.

It is my understanding that sinkholes form due the gradual erosion by underground rivers and the resulting collapse of the earth above. No escaping air and debris because it gets pushed into the space the river occupies.

For what you have said to occur, there needs to be a hollow space underground with no place for the air to go but up with enough force to throw tons of shit up. Like a round christmas ornament.

I understand that I may be wrong, I am no scientist or expert on geology, but I do not think that is how these things work.
