It seems like the majority of media featuring an immortal character(s) shoehorn in a theme/moral about how immortality is a curse or is not desirable.
Even the typically light-hearted Marvel film, the Avengers, features a character openly admitting to craving death and an unfortunately botched attempt at suicide.
What do you think? Is it just a coincidence or something more?

Alright, so I figured this would be the best place to post this.
Lately I have been hearing weird noises outside my house. Last night, dogs barking, but it wasn't normal, they sounded really messed up. It sounded like it came from my backyard, too far to be a neighbors dog and all mine were inside at the time. Tonight? At around 10:40 I heard another noise on my back porch. The best way I could describe it would have to be the sound made when your drag a lolipop across your teeth, but way lower in pitch. At about 11:40 I heard another noise, this time, tapping on the window to my back right, less than 10 feet behind me. The blinds are closed pretty much all the time so I didn't see anything when I spun around. I am thinking it could be a skinwalker, but if it was close enough to tap on the window so close to me wouldn't I have smelled rotting flesh, copper or something of the sort? Or could it be my imagination? Whatever it is seems to be getting progessively bolder, getting closer to the house. Tomorrow night, if it doesn't murder me tonight, I expect an escalation, banging on windows or doors, something of that sort. What could I be dealing with, and what should I do? All I have is an extendable baton for self defense and if it is a skinwalker, I doubt smacking with with a short, hollow metal rod is gonna do anything. Pic related, it's the weapon I wish I had right about now.

Get a cheap trail cam and install on your property. You can find one for ~$80 usually. Also get a big knife from your kitchen desu. Batons are generally for intimidation/crowd control.

On the cameras, we already have cams on the barn, really high quality system actually, but none on the house and the ones on the barn can't cover it. We are planning on installing another system on the house to cover it but that will probably take a while, that and we are kinda strapped for cash the rest of the week. That would probably be the most effective attack method. As a super cheap alternative you could get a baby monitor from Goodwill or something for like $5 tops as a substitute for a camera.

What are some odd things you get spooked by? I'm not talking about heights or spiders or any of the normal things. I mean something very specific that has stuck with you and makes you feel anxious anytime you see it.
For me it's people fitting through vents. Not crawling through them but breaking down into something that can fit through the vent cover. That one X-Files episode always stuck with me and freaked me out.

I can't remember if I'm spooked by something unusual my memory sucks but I recall feeling intense fear in times of mass histeria where something is happening but you know you cannot do anything like the time I had a dream where a person got himself electrocuted by accident. It was during a parade and people couldn't do a thing to help they just screamed and watched.
I'm afraid I won't know what to do in case of a mass catastrophe or war.

Did you ever know or were around fucked up or strange kids during your childhood? Or maybe even now?
I used to know this kid that would torture mice. I was his friend for awhile and he took me to this clearing in the woods where he would torture mice. It was a bit out of the way from his house but not too deep into the woods. I was pretty stupid for going there with him anyway. I'm not sure if he was catching the mice or if he was buying the mice from pet stores. I guess his parents didn't give a shit what he did. One of the things he would like to do is take one of those plastic bottles, shove mice in there, fill it with water, screw the cap on, and watch the mice drown inside. He would also do this with two or three mice in the same bottle, or leave a little bit of space so they could swim up to the top and watch them struggle until they were exhausted and drowned. The place he took me had I think about 10 bottles with drowned mice in it. Needless to say it creeped me out and I suggested we go back to my place which he agreed to. We spent the rest of the day playing videogames until he went home.
I didn't invite him to my place after that even though he would ask me sometimes and I would always say I was busy or grounded. I moved away to another state eventually.
People like that obviously have to have something wrong with them to be able to do that to an animal. Maybe he was being abused, I'll never know. I hope not, but he's probably moved on to doing worse things. And probably to bigger animals. Or people. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he's the creator of that gif where someone has a mouse tied up and snipped it's dick off with scissors.

My friends and I found a website called iwanttodie.com a few months ago. We accessed it and it displayed something saying South 22 South 23 in red font, as well as the word "ouch.". It also had a low quality video of some people standing in a room, in black and white. Another person said there was another video, but we are not sure if this is true. Trying to access the site now displays CONTACT 674158 and then redirects to http://wwwwwwwwwwwwvwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwvwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.com/ and says "b46.b86.myftpupload.com uses an unsupported protocol." Any ideas into what this site means?
