Been on /x/ for a while, and noticed that all your cults are trash.
I've been following the teachings of "Bob" Dobbs since I was 14, and when I finally bought the Book of the Subgenius 5 years ago, it flipped my world upside down; and caused my eyes and genitals to fall off. Any other Subgenii out there, or am I all alone?

Assuming you wouldn't be injured or otherwise assaulted in any way, if you were offered the chance to join a cult would you?
The rules would be that you would have to live in a communal home, 60% of your income would be paid forward to the cult for better housing, food, etc., a wife/husband would be chosen for you, and you'd otherwise have to follow a strict set of laws.
Would you do it? For a sense of belonging? To be part of something more elite than the normal rat race of life? To have something/somebody to follow and live for?

I unironically do, for the simple reason that if enough people (see: /pol/ weaponized autism) direct their mental/spiritual/physical energies a certain way they can affect reality.Plus, if it really was a real ancient cult then there must be some intrinsic power there.
And this is common to all religions, to try and tap into a higher power.
