idea for a vidya game Ive been kicking around called quiet lives
>set in the 1970s
>detective mystery
>3 playable charatcers, the detective, a teenage girl whos little brother was murdered and it torn her family apart, the former criminal that owns a night club and gets embroiled in the plot
>starts with a basic serial killer story that takes a few chapters, but after you solve it you find out the rabbit whole goes much deeper
>there are other serial killers, rapists, pedophiles and kidnappers all working together in a cult/organized crime syndicate with he help of prominent local figures, law enforcement and politicians
>think eyes wide shut meets true detective
>you dont know who to trust, and its a point and click game like heavy rain where you have choices that will effect the outcome of the story and could kill any of the characters
>also open world map that you can explore, an urban metropolis, a countryside, the suburbs
>all with side missions you can do, that will earn you points that act as currency so you can customize your character, their home, their car, their guns

Not exactly the same but reminds me of a story I've been writing for awhile, planning on animating it in a couple years when i feel good enough to flesh out a finished and decent cartoon. Ill summarize. Very over the top but ive been trying to maintain an odd sense of eerieness while writing.

It keeps going from there and gets a bit more focused after this. He starts seeing things every time he closes his eyes like they've been etched, elder gods ensue, but im trying hard to not be too cliche with that part. I like lovecraft too much and find the idea of older than life beings tormenting modern day pieces of shit, instead of older pieces of shit, really fun and there are a lot of ways to do it.

After about 5-10 minutes of praying, it feels as if another kind of energy is appearing in the room. It starts to flow from around me and blends with the dark energy, sort of drying it out and making it disappear from the air. First it happened in the middle of my chest, then it expanded outwards like a wave on a lake. The dark energy was cleansed from me, but not the room. It was still around for a few seconds, but then it was gone as well. Suddenly the room was clean. Empty. As if you'd turned off a tv that had some heavy static. The silence and emptiness were inmense.

Feeling ok, I get up and walk the hall back to my room. The hall feels clean. I open the door and my room feels far from fucking clean. It's still there. It feels as if I breathe it in and my body starts going out of synch again. The waves in my head and around me feel weird and dark, and all I can do is clutch the rosary harder. I hold it up and just stand there for about 5 minutes, fist in the air, until eventually (and suddenly) the dark energy dissipates. The air feels clean. The room now feels truly empty. The dark energy is gone.

Promise I'm not LARPing or looking to troll anyone, I just genuinely wish someone would help me understand what the fuck just happened. It's unlike anything I've ever felt before.
