i was have a conversation today with a friend about conspiracy theories that have either been accepted by society or are becoming far more mainstream. one of the big ones we talked about was chemtrails, which is pretty popular with a lot of farmers in america who otherwise have no interest in such things. however, we couldn't really come up with a reason why it's surged in popularity aside from a rise in organic/clean eating. another one we talked about was the increase in belief that hormones are being put into the water supply, probably because of trans/gay visibility increasing in such a short amount of time.
so /x/, which conspiracy theories do you predict will become mainstream in the next few years, and why?

Around last year, me and 2 of buddies who are quite into urban exploring, went into a nearby drain. Today I was looking over some of the pictures that we took and I found something really weird. While we were in the drains we kept hearing weird noises like scratching but we just thought it was rats or something but now I'm not too sure...

I'm looking for some creepypastas as well.
One from a while ago, about a man whose wife falls off a ladder while they were fixing up their cottage. It then laid abandoned until he returned to find it overrun by evil spirits or something.
Also one in which a man has a dream that he is pushing black marbles in a maze. He feels like he has been doing it for an eternity, and believes he was in hell. I remember it was a thread here. I wonder what happened to that guy.

/x/ I need your expertise. Just before midnight I was driving home through the beautiful backwoods of NOVA when I had an urge to slow down before a turn (a turn I've encointered thousands of times before) when a dark, ominous figure crossed my headlights. It was approx. 4-5 feet tall at the shoulder, with a body spanning the length of the lane (not including head or tail) with a large mouth and eyes the same color as the moon (yellow, the moon was also very bright and vivid at the time) the encounter lasted at least 3 seconds and granted a detailed glimpse, which left me physically and mentally shaken and I'm looking for some sort of solace... attached is a quick sketch for reference.
