I grew up and live in rural Appalachia.
Nothing spoops me out more than staying in a big city. Constantly hearing people, sirens, and cars.
The woods can be spoopy, but imo people are much more spoopy.
Appalachia is particularly spoopy because it's always foggy and the woods are so dense that you can't see more than 10-20 yards at a time.

Is there any way for anyone on this board to put a "curse" or "hex" on my brother? He acts as if he is a God and has been a literal piece of cat shit for as long as i can remember... I just want him to be put back into his place. I have many valid reasons for doing this, the main one being he smashed 3 of my fingers and rendered them useless for a time... To be specific i'd like for him to have a string of bad luck or depression.

So a few weeks ago i had this dream experience, let me tell you how it was:

I've experienced a few, one of them being extremely loud opera/angelic music playing in my room late at night (''/mu/ worthy''), then I moved house and it happened again - this time near the corner of my room.
In the same house I swapped bedrooms with my Mum, she heard the music too. I then heard a soft voice say "hello" and "Elle" (''my name''), followed by a deep heavy sigh near me as I was about to sleep.

I hear popping sounds, doors closing and shutting, and sometimes voices through the walls. The strangest thing is that it almost always correlates to my thoughts. Whenever I do it's like my fight or flight response has been activated and I just start walking around my house for minutes even hours trying to find out what it was. What are your thoughts on alien abductions? Out of all of the paranormal phenomena, accounts of UFO sightings and alien abductions seem the most consistent (ignoring the obvious new age BS).
I've also read Jacobs' Walking Among Us which is truly frightening if a grain of it is true.

Hey I'm writing a story about a village in rural iread being terrorized by a banshee and a black dog. Does anyone have any info, or maybe that picture of the old lady and the giant dog on that deserted Russian road that the photographer took a pic of before going missing? Looking for inspiration, and I can recall that picture and it's sort of what I want to capture. Thanks in advance, but if anyone has information, culturally, from stories they've heard or even the internet, I'm more than interested.
