I'm looking for a fiction book that I saw recommended here. It was called "the incarnation of /x/" (with /k/ elements). It opened with a line about [guy's name] effect, being what you would get if you fired repeatedly at a spinning globe. The basic premise of the series is that things have crash-landed on earth, and they're affecting the world in weird ways.
Can anyone help point me towards what this book is?

I do have days when I actually feel.....retarded.

You make the same mistake most people not knowing shit about the whole thing make. It's not fantasy, majority of spells have no innate power. They're merely crutches, tools for practitioner to twist their mind and steer their thoughts into particular directions that affect their soul and through soul - change the reality. You can be given crapload of very seriously sounding spells and likely at the very least grand majority of them won't do nothing but waste your time, while someone with actual spiritual authority, disciplined mind and practice will cast a spell by sitting comfortably somewhere for a few minutes and doing it all in their head.
So, why there are spells at all? Because practitioners of certain traditions tend to operate on similar symbols, ideas and approach so spell that was taught to them all together with meanings and ideas behind different steps of the spell itself may give them advantage over one where everything would have to be interpreted and guessed.

Alright, this will be a hard question to ask but I will try my best. Is it possible for someone to be possessed by a demonic entity and not be completely aware of it, but always have this extremely strong suspicion about it?
Ok, here's a tiny bit of background to help you anons understand my struggle but also to serve as a cry of fellowship to others who might be in the same predicament.
I've always been the type of person whose heart bleeds for others, always helpful, always compassionate and always striving for the greater good.
However, while I wasn't religious or anything, I had a couple of encounters with a dark entity. My first thoughts instictively though, were of God, and that somehow made me able to push it back. Since then however, which was many years ago, I've experienced a complete 180 in my psyche. I've turned to misanthropy, cynicism, hate, selfishness, cold heartedness, and sometimes outright evil.
I don't feel that all these come truly from me though, and sometimes I feel like my words, or thoughts or actions are not even mine. Sometimes I just feel like a wicker man, dancing on the whims of another unknown force. Sometimes the reflection in the mirror stares back.
Could it be the unthinkable? Could a sinister force be responsible for all the darkness unleashed unto me? Give me your wisdom /x/ and share with me your similar troubles.
