I have a hard time finding manga that suit my tastes because the things I like seem to go hand in hand with things I don't like.
I like historical settings but I don't particularly enjoy action scenes.
I like slice of life but romance and cute girls doing cute things do nothing for me.
I like sports but I quickly get tired of shounen tropes.
Some I've read and really liked are YKK, Mushishi, and Kaijuu no Kodomo.
I think I'd like an off-beat adventure story, or a chilled out workplace SoL, or something slow-paced with a mysterious atmosphere. Anything come to mind?
Aria and YKK are often billed hand-in-hand so that's definitely one to try. If you like sports but not shonen tropes maybe try Ping Pong? I haven't read it myself but you might like it if the anime was anything to go on. Wish I read more manga so I could help you out a bit better.

Thanks. I've been holding off on Aria because every time I see a thread on /a/ it's literally nothing but Best Girl discussions. Made me worry that the cute girls are a huge part of its appeal but it's probably just /a/ autism.
I've seen the Ping Pong anime but I coukd give the manga a go.
Try this:
Natsume Yuujinchou
Sangatsu no Lion
Gakuen Babysitters
Otoyomegatari
Hoshi no Samidare
Emma
Nickelodeon (Actually anything by Douman Seiman)
Adekan
Kuro (Somato)
