I recently bought the Blu-Ray release of Interstella 5555 (I know the DVD release is considered superior but hey, I'd rather pick the former) and every time I put the disc in, my Blu-Ray player makes a heavy reading noise a few times before giving up and goes back to the home screen. I've tested this on my PS3 to make sure it wasn't just a faulty disc, and it just gives me a blank screen on Title 13.
There's no notice of region locking on the box AT ALL, but there is a UPC code: 5099967851492
I did research (about six hours worth) and the UPC code on my box resides from the UK. I'm from the US. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with why it's not running.
The disc also runs at 1080i/25, which I'm pretty sure my TV can support.
Any help on why my disc isn't running?

Update: It runs fine on a PS4, but the PS4 belongs to someone else, making relocating impossible.

Have you tried running a different bd of the same region? A bd that's also 1080i/25? Is your player firmware up-to-date? Is everything HDCP certified? Have you looked through all settings on the player? Have you factory reset the player?
