On PSP, try Ys Seven. Action RPG with really fluid combat. Don't let the seven in the title concern you, the story is standalone.

I'd have to vote against this. Tactics advance was one of my favorite games years ago, but it's hardly badass, in fact it's not even very good compared to other strategy RPGs.
I'd recommend crisis core ff7. It's better if you've played ff7 of course.

Have you ever played it? The only way they're similar is you have turns and the battles have sprites fighting.
