There's a lot of great manga, but I don't think there's any good adaptations.

Shonan Junai Gumi (GTO is its sequel)
Rokudenashi Blues (It's got some OVAs, but I haven't watched them, so I can't recommend them)

I would really love to just see a one season anime about two delinquent mobs just fucking a town up with their fighting. It seems like it'd be a great premise.

you might like the anime movie Tekkonkinkreet (or the original manga), not at all like Rival Schools but it fits the premise and it's excellent
