I need a step by step guide about how to install Snes9x on Linux (more precisely Lubuntu).
Or some other good Snes emulator for Linux? I plan on playing with a iBuffalo Snes controller replica too, so compatibility with that would be appreciated.
I am a complete noob about installing stuff on Linux but it's the only OS that runs smoothly on my old ass netbook.

You could use mednafen.
Its code is based off bsnes

Why?
Anyway...

Higan.
Hell, even zsnes is good enough. Not GOOD good, but, hell, it's still in the official ubuntu repos.
Just open your terminal, and type
sudo apt-get install higan
or
sudo apt-get install zsnes
Then input your password, and wait for it to download and install it.

I have a feeling this is why the OP is looking to run Snes9x instead of BSNES.
Anyway OP, what are your specs? BSNES should run fine on a reasonably clocked Core 2 Duo or newer. You'll probably have less luck with AMD though, especially since AMD's laptop CPUs tend to be shit.

ZSNES is a completely different animal than BSNES. BSNES is a cycle accurate emulator, ZSNES used lots of hacks and shortcuts, and therefore has compatibility issues and bugs with certain games.
