Recommendations for an mp3/mp4 player?

tl;dr
Can anyone recommend me any proper mp3 or mp4 player that's good enough to have a menu display for the song lists like all phones do nowadays?

Full story:
I used to have a Creative ZEN mp4 for 8 years, it broke last month. As I've browsed through many mp3/mp4 players on the internet recently, I've found out that most of them won't even give you the display for the songs and you're forced to skip through each and every one of them to get to a particular one (Imagine having 500 songs and you wish to play the 250th one, it's madness).
I don't want to use my current phone for song plays as I have Evolveo and it's a hell just getting the headphones in, let alone listening to the garbage-tier quality.
I just would like to find a simple player for a decent price that allows you to skip completely, just like ZEN allowed me to (If I could avoid going over $100, that would be great).
