Not really. Most "pretentious anime" isn't inherently pretentious, it's just anime that's frequently watched by pretentious people because they believe it's sufficiently "mature" or "deep" or "cultured" etc that they can pass themselves off as some kind of intellectual for watching it. Truth is there's no such thing as "intellectual" anime really, even the best written anime is still just escapist entertainment at its core, but if pretentious people were smart enough to realize that they wouldn't have to pretend to be smart.

Depends on the board, for boards like /wsr/ and /g/ I use bump order,
For boards like /gif/ and /wsg/ I use reply count.

I think the default should be fine. Since default is what most people are seeing right now and so is trending. For boards I visit mainly for content reply count is it.
