directly faces the news anchor’s desk. The other two cameras are both angled 45° away from the center camera. Suppose each camera has a field of 60°. What is the total angle covered by the three cameras? Explain your reasoning.
How would I solve this without drawing it out?

Anyway, I'll just assume the cameras are all at the same point. Now, if there are 45 degrees separating each camera but they all have a 60 degree field of view, then there will be no "blind spots", so the total angle can be found by finding the leftmost and rightmost angles and determining the space between them. Since the leftmost camera points 45 degrees away from the center and sees 30 degrees in either direction (totalling 60), its leftmost visible point would be 75 degrees to the left of the central point. Similarly, the rightmost visible point is 75 degrees to the right of the center. From these angles, it can be deduced that the total field of view is 150 degrees.
