>Gonna start up with some shitposting apparently
why do you have to make little self pitty comments just post
Been getting flak from shitposters in the last thread that my webms weren't good enough without getting explained why, so I'm just doing it without any discretion anymore.
>Been getting flak from shitposters in the last thread that my webms weren't good enough without getting explained why, so I'm just doing it without any discretion anymore.
once again dont care
Like this? Oh wait, I now just figured out you probably wanted a gif
When we start a new thread we don't talk about the old thread.
If you want to talk about the old thread go back there. It's still there.
why did the last one fill out so fast?
There were a lot of posts without images, so people started dumping in order to balance it out. Made the thread go fast. Also, it was Saturday.
>Someone's been recording video playback to make webms
>People are running multi-threaded video encoders with a single thread
>People are using CRF instead of two pass VBR
>Too many webm making help posts for anime thread
>Too many complaints about help making anime webms for any thread
Thanks for posting in prev thread, I always enjoy that episode
Yeah. I'm currently taking a break, because the encoding process just takes too fucking long. Later I suppose I'll come back and start googling around to figure out how to multithread so I can produce more content more quickly. There are still some scenes from Planetes that I want to webmify.
You can just drag the webm onto an open vlc/mpc etc I think. It'll just load the .webm saved in your temp folder.
>Also, it was Saturday.
Funny how these thread move quicker on the weekends whereas most other threads slow to a crawl.
So many anime have these cute characters and good animation but are nothing but a jerk off.
>they want it
>they both want it
>they never get anywhere
>they have potential to develop at least an interesting drama
waste of animation.
Nah. KyoAni just likes to flex it's animation skill sometimes. It's just about some kids solving mysteries. There's a bit of character outside the norm but nothing special.
I got out of the loop, did any of you fags found the sauce?
I saw the subs and was absolutely sure I didn't want to see this.
i fucking googled five different frames of this shit and nothing came up give me the source
you sure are salty about your inability to comprehend chinese picture dramas
The irony was actually just hidden behind a friendly, open sincerity. Like a subtle smirk you don't notice. It's high level stuff, but that's where the board is now. The edgiest thing you can do is just be kind and helpful and honest and direct.
it is pretty objectively true that putting background music on with some slideshows is not a very interesting way to fill an episode, I guess the funeral scene wasn't that bad but in the first or second ep where it was just some random music with the characters fucking around in the city for half the episode it was just like, what the fuck, do they expect people to actually buy this?
I have no idea how to do 2 pass encoding, and the only thing I've found about vbr is https://trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/VP8
And I know for a fact that -b:v is absolute shit, which is why I don't think that's what you guys are talking about when you speak of vbr.
Anything below -qmin 10 is a placebo. Settings of -qmin 16 and -qmax 26 should provide visually indistinguishable differences (generally speaking).
ffmpeg -ss 01:21:46.489 -i input.mkv -t 10 -c:v libvpx -quality good -cpu-used 0 -qmin 16 -qmax 26 -b:v 3200K -lag-in-frames 16 -auto-alt-ref 1 -threads 4 -an -sn -f webm -metadata "title=Spirited Away" -pass 1 /dev/null
ffmpeg -ss 01:21:46.489 -i input.mkv -t 10 -c:v libvpx -quality good -cpu-used 0 -qmin 16 -qmax 26 -b:v 3200K -lag-in-frames 16 -auto-alt-ref 1 -threads 4 -an -sn -f webm -metadata "title=Spirited Away" -pass 2 output.webm
>And I know for a fact that -b:v is absolute shit, which is why I don't think that's what you guys are talking about when you speak of vbr.
-b:v sets a target AVERAGE bitrate, which will be overuled by quality settings from -qmax etc. You can also set a maximum deviation from the target average bitrate -bt, or the max / min with -minrate or -maxrate.
For some reason I couldn't view the metadata on this webm when it was posted in the last thread (my laptop is fucked at the moment). I hate to ask for source, but it's just so gorgeous.
I've been doing mine like this. Is this bad?
ffmpeg -y -ss 00:06:00 -i "input.mp4" -ss 00:00:50.702 -t 00:01:04.918 -c:v libvpx -crf 20 -b:v 680k -c:a libvorbis -pass 1 -threads 3 -f webm NUL &&
ffmpeg -ss 00:06:00 -i "input.mp4" -ss 00:00:50.702 -t 00:01:04.918 -c:v libvpx - crf 20 -b:v 680k -vf scale=-1:360 -c:a libvorbis -b:a 60k -pass 2 -threads 3 -metadata title="title" output.webm
>If I use both b:v specifies the max bitrate for crf
No, -b:v specifies the average bitrate for the whole video. -maxrate would specify the maximum, though crf should already constrain this.
>-crf alone with VP8 uses a shitty low bitrate and I don't want to use a constant bitrate by doing -b:v alone.
Set a lower crf value, and -b:v doesn't set a constant rate.
Here's my attempt. I had to scale down my source to 720 from 1080, and I applied a de-noising filter as well (it looked like I would benefit from it). I could also apply a sharpening, or more bandwidth to the video stream.
>ffmpeg -i input.mkv -vf "dctdnoiz=15:n=3,scale=-1:720:flags=lanczos" -c:v libvpx -quality good -cpu-used 0 -qmin 16 -qmax 26 -b:v 3200K -lag-in-frames 16 -auto-alt-ref 1 -threads 5 -an -sn -f webm -metadata "title=Spirited Away" -pass 2 output.webm
Thank you very much, anon. I've used that method and the quality stayed the same, yet the file size decreased to 2.3 MB. I've removed -b:v and the file size decreased yet again to 1.5 MB, while the quality has remained the same. Is there any point in specifying -b:v? I'm pretty sure if I use imagemagick I could find some differences between the frames, but to the naked eye, -b:v deems to make no difference at all as far as quality goes.
>Yeah when used alone it does that. When used with crf it does what I described.
I don't think so. Can you provide any documentation to that effect?
Not that anon, but I found this:
>In addition to the "default" VBR mode, there's a constant quality mode (like in the x264 encoder) that will ensure that every frame gets the number of bits it deserves to achieve a certain quality level, rather than forcing the stream to have an average bit rate. [...] In this case, the target bitrate becomes the maximum allowed bitrate.
I've posted >10% of the the OT webms in this thread, and helping people make better quality anime webms is very much anime webm related.
The trac page? No, or not in a long time. I don't use CRF for webms anyway.
When I do look for vpx encoding information I usually look to:
You guys can have this part too, though if someone has a better version I'd like it.
>detected possible malicious code in image
fuck you anhiro
This show is (barely) animated shitposting
Am I the only one who is extremely curious how this guy can ride a bicycle for extended periods of time WITH HIS EYES CLOSED without crashing into anything?
i've always been really curious about what the literal translation of the tongue twister in the scene is. There's no way that the literal translation can also be a nightmare tongue twister in BOTH English and Japanese
I don't quite get it, but it's something like "Looking for a long time at a line of 7 loudly crying 750cc motorcycles simply lined up at a 77 degree angle."
naname nanajuunanado no narabi de nakunaku inanaku nanahan nanadai nannaku narabi de naganagame
By the way, if you have a pre-1970 edition of the Nelson's Japanese to English Character Dictionary, there's a very handy table inside the back cover that shows kanji that were significantly changed by the 1946 standardization measure. All you need to understand Nishio's writing is that table and the classical forms of the numbers 0-10.
reading 壹 as dai is pretty obscure either way, and you skipped over 難ナク completely, also 泣ク泣ク is more along the lines of weeping, not crying loudly, using it for motorcycles crying loudly is a bit forced
the numbers are odd but the rest of your translation is pretty willy nilly as well
Are you suggesting that weeping motorcycles makes more sense than crying motorcycles? They're both gibberish.
And no, I didn't skip over 難なく. "...motorcycles simply lined up ..." Maybe "easily" would have been better, but the sentence is still nonsense.
I don't claim my translation is perfect. If you have a better idea, feel free to post it.
Also, I found this chiebukuro post informative:
I'm just saying that while the English word of crying has the connotation of a loud voice and weeping, Japanese doesn't have the same thing, it's either weeping or a loud noise, and it uses the word for weeping
so that's what that was supposed to be, I wouldn't think of "without issue" as "simply" but fair enough I guess
I'm still not sure how you read 漆壹 as nanadai either
well it's not that informative, it's just trying to make sense of the words and comes to the conclusion that it doesn't mean anything just a bunch of words with "na" in them so Hanekawa have to say "nya", which I'm pretty sure everyone figured
I'm just not sure if taking a text, modifying and skipping over parts that don't make sense and try to arrange them in a way that sounds okay is a good way to translate something, so I just said that I'm not sure if it has a meaning at all and the kanji are weird too and you just went "nothing weird about this one this is the most standard japanese text evah ur just a big idiot xD go read mr dickheads table about numbers :P" so I'm just gonna nitpick anyways because fuck you
whoa there, too much salt is bad for your blood pressure
I wasn't really expecting much when I mentioned that I was curious about the literal translation, but you guys are awesome.
I have to say that I'm pretty impressed that the subbers came up with such a good believable english tongue twister to stick in that scene.
>oh shit I have no response better call shitposting!
how about you go fuck yourself, this sort of uninspired hey let's act like a complete retard because it's "funny" is just literally cancer, if he makes a video about monogatari and explains characters and events from a jungian point of view or explains the japanese word plays and puns and their function in the story then I'd say that alright that's a good video but obviously he has no fucking idea about anything instead he's just rehashing internet memes and jokes like HEY ITS JAPANESE CHINGCHONGDINGDONG XDD which is actually just the most cringeworthy autistic shit ever
I can't believe I didn't try making this sooner.
I don't know if this is legitimate butthurt or shitposting at this point.
I mean just see the dub butthut that has been caused before.
>look mom I called him butthurt xD
you kids are actually this autistic huh, tell me that I'm not right with a straight face though, acting like a retard on the internet isn't witty or entertaining in the slightest
What's wrong with it?
yeah why not
nah, Is people that gets its shit flipped for everything m8
have you seen the size of these things?
I'm squeezing the most I can for every single one.
nice ingish pablo, nice arguments you've got though, I explained how this sort of uninspired rehashed garbage is the absolute pit of autistic idiots and your retort has been just "u-u mad bro?" so look I don't really mind what you do with your life but I'd recommend killing yourself for everyone's sake
I'm really curious right now tho, are you legitimately mad or just shitposting?
I really can't tell
I may defend my honor as a respectable autist that optimizes them by posting more
Then show me your skills and post your 4mb wembs
if you were serious you would have an actual argument, instead of spamming really shit memes, which is funnily enough what this youtube guy seems to be doing all day, at least he's making money off of it though unlike you who's just being a retard for nothing
Holy shit, I think this guy is actually mad.
I'm sure there's better optimisations but hey get this, it doesn't get corrupted or sounds like cancer.
I thought to myself, 'man, the thread is really slow tonight. 4chanX hasn't shown me any updates.' Low and behold, it's actually just a group of fucking idiots arguing about posts I hid and thus were hidden by relation.
I usually put length+quality over audio in my priority list.
I don't know if you noticed, but some of there are more than 3 minutes.
>then crop it
I have them cut but I think is better if you get the entire non-stop way experience.
I don't like trips if they are not necessary.
You can just hide it m8. That's the last one I have with audio anyway.
Well it is pretty necessary, if people want to filter your stuff. Are you stupid or something? To hide I have to open it first and see that it is shit, it's way better if it doesn't show up in the first place, that's the whole point.
didnt find the source but i found something chill
<iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bsg9_1JzmBA?list=PLEAAC182966AE4A81" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
but I'm not really contributing anything that requires it and using one because someone disliked the audio quality of some webms seems like a pretty lame excuse to use one.
Like I said, you can just hide it. I'll make sure to have a tag of that in the filename next time.
Just use a name then, or something in the filename that I can filter, stop being such a faggot. You get told that your stuff is bad and your response is "then I'll post more" it's just natural that I want to avoid seeing that. It's not just the audio quality either, the fact that they get corrupted is instantly a no-no, I don't even know how you manage to do that. Also there you go the same scene with sound that I made a while back, but you're hell bent on posting the worst quality of things possible so whatever.
your post makes no sense, either you watched about 30 episodes of the show just to decide that you don't like it or you started watching it at 30th episode and then complain that you don't get it, are you having a stroke or something?
It's not even a wow meme though. I know it's like the korean laugh too but I'm pretty sure it's just a misspelling of lol. It is mainly used by /v/ as well, which is you know pretty much regarded as a reddit sidekick nowadays.
I don't think so, /v/ crossies use them but the rest of people just think that oh boy this shit again. I'm pretty sure it's regarded as cancer in better video games communities as well.
does anyone have this webm i don't remember what it's from but it was a fight it was really well animated in a bamboo forest if i remember right and at the end a bunch of bamboo was cut down or something i'm sorry i can't describe it better but i'd really appreciate if anyone knows what i'm talking about if they can post or even just tell me what it's from if you don't have it
>posting my webbum
I don't believe it.
