Starting off with a special Gondola freshly made by my nine year old nephew.
>directed here from /balt+ausnz/ on /int/
>coincidentally see my gondola posted
Lad, the one with the dramatic music is ebin as fugg. What I'm trying to say is, I have a gigantic boner right now.
Here's another one I made, but I can't into webm, so: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohK_fi5JwuQ
Ok, so, I didn't apply myself 100% to this because it's just a test of the waters so to speak, do you think it's worth me putting more effort into something like this for the whole song?
I made this gondola, I hope you guys like it.
Here, have some quick OC I made.
Decided not to convert it to a webm, since I wanted the full length of the song and didn't want to bother with scaling it down.
i was goldla for two years i had illness to being asleep but awake sometime. peolpe not seen me standing in quiet air. quiet music. train move by reflect dots in eyes, and fog too fast for search of fellow gondola. hundredd of night and day when only quiet and see. inside is little warm even space dark does not cold. mayn suns i find in ground with no life, suns inside.
new home is find in two years. warm gondolas also have reflect dots. dark is bright now but still inside are suns.
how do i squish down audio quality enough to fit the whole thing in the webm?
lower the video bitrate. I used my "music on youtube" preset for Windows Movie Maker which has an extremely low image bitrate but a high sound bitrate. As there only is a still image, you can also lower the refresh rate from 30 to whatever... 1 fps.
someone explain to me how to make this not look like shit and still fit in 4 MB; lowering bitrates makes it more and more blurry even if i use a still image
Guys, you referred me to xmedia recode for webms, and it's pretty good and I'm very pleased with its user friendliness.
There are some things however that it can't do, like edit and combine and cut videos.
What are some easy user friendly video editing software?
Sony Vegas Sucks (wayyy too picky with video formats, even .avi wtf?)
Adobe Premiere sucks ass too because it suffers from the same problem (will only work with certain file types).
I just want to use a user friendly video editing software....
Gotta any recommendations?
/g/ won't help me...
sorry deleted for better size
song is "Glömd konst kommer stundom ånyo till heders" by Dungen
I was gonna color this, but I got carried away with my lines
nah, it does it when I open it from my files.
I think it's the bit rate
Someone should do a gondola with this marvelous piece of art:
Imagine gondola wearing a fez, leaning towards some old building while sitting on a decorated pavement, looking somewhat blank to the nay he's holding, with an imperishable smile on his face.
I wish I could draw the gondola ;_;
anyone else getting a bug where some audio doesn't play unless you re-open the webm? It mainly gets stopped by clicking on the seek somewhere...
already did that and it was still 1.6mb a min even with the worst sound bitrate
Drew this with my mouse and ms paint
sry shit quality, pls no hurt
Thats part of gondola, everyone can draw it (him, her?). However I think it would have been better to place gondola under the tree, gazing into the sunset, with only the silhouette visible.
Looking for a sheriff or police gondola, just a close-up still would be great. Please and thank you
the process I use is not the most efficient but it works with minimum fuss.
>Make picture as gif with at least 2 frames (I use gifApp to make animated gif)
>upload to gifycat which automagically converts to webm
>save said webm to computer
>use webmforretards to dub the webm with an mp3 of my choice
I'm sure there are many more simple ways to do this and I would welcome knowing them myself.
I use Windows Movie Maker. Drag&drop image, drag&drop music, make sure the lengths align, maybe add audio fadeout.
For drawing MS paint is enough, though Paint.net or Gimp can be more comfortable at times.
And I forgot: Make a custom export scheme. Low video bitrate (800 kbit/s), low framerate (5 fps), high audio quality (192 kbit/s). Export as mp4 and convert with MasterOfWebm 1.1
I don't want to sound rude, but it's a little disappointing to see this go from crudely drawn but endearing 2-3 frame animations to "look at this cool picture I found plus here's a gondola I drew over it btw" over the course of a few threads.
theres a better way
>go here https://github.com/WebMBro/WebMConverter/releases
>download the zip
>use peazip and extract contents to desktop
>make a series of images using your favorite image editor (I use GIMP)
>open Windows movie maker
>drag and drop images (make sure they are in the correct order)
>add music trim if necessary
>save for computer
>use webm converter to convert the file make sure file size limit is 4mb and audio is enabled
There should be a short guide posted everytime a thread pops up if you want to keep the quality high. Otherwise newfags such as I will unknowingly contribute with shit without knowing why it's shit.
if someone can explain to me how to make an animated gondola fit into 4 MB I will gladly make some
I've been using movie maker and then converting to webm with XMedia Recode and even my still image gondolas with short songs get huge and lose image quality
I tried that and yes, they did get smaller, but it also turns all of them into super blurry/pixelated messes. Reducing frames as low as they can go for the still images didn't help either
maybe I need to try something other than XMedia Recode to convert? or save the original video as something other than .wmv? I have like 5 copies of my first gondola from trying to make it sized correctly and honestly kind of gave up trying to get the image quality to stay as nice as the original stills
But that's what it originally started as. Gondola is a watcher and should never be the center of attention. While the animated ones are nice they focus too much on gondola, he's supposed to be the melancholy watcher of human life, and in the images where he's sublimely in the background is the spirit of the meme.
Who gave you the authority to dictate what the "spirit" of this is? Everyone has their own vision.
Focusing on gondola isn't inherently bad, nor does it make it any less melancholic, if that's what you want it to be. I think >>928908 is a great example of that. Some of the OC posted in this thread also does a great job of evoking that same feeling, in particular:
>>925539 >>925526 >>925491 >>927266 >>928156 all have fairly prominent gondolas and are my favorites in the thread. And plenty of other mystical feelings can be had when gondola is prominent as well, namely >>926339 is amazing, and pic related is too.
Making him a tiny speck in the background seems almost pointless. I may as well just look up landscape photographs on google while listening to music, and tell myself that there's a little brown face with long legs that I can't see in each photo. Rather than making him the "melancholy watcher of human life," it's more interesting to focus on gondola's own life, whatever you might imagine it to be like, either melancholic, happy, or anything else.
this guy kinda gets it, for me it's all about being able to relate to the character, if you draw him in an existing picture he sticks out so it's harder to get the feeling of him being there which makes it harder to 'feel the moment' if that makes any sense
anyway, this is the first meme I actually enjoy and I've been here for quite a few years so I'm really happy to see all of you creating OC
Literally the Norwegian /int/ poster on the other Chan that made the fucking OG gondola said how its suppose to be, we're just adhering to the original source. Gondola is not suppose to be the main focus of the picture, if you don't like it fine but it didnt start out that way.
If the description you're referring to is the one that can be found on KYM, it doesn't say anything about what should be the focus of the image. I don't know of any other descriptions of what gondola is supposed to be, so perhaps I'm missing something.
Besides that, it apparently came from ylilauta, and I don't see what you're saying reflected in their posts here.
Unfortunately I don't know Finnish.
This 2bh family, I put in a lot of effort to animate my gonds and draw them from scratch while other people just paste a brown figure on someone else's art. It's kind of lazy tbqh and lowers the overall quality. I mean it's ok to start off like that but at some point start drawing originals because gondola's are supposed to be like that.
t. person that was there when it first started on /int/
I guess I can answer some questions on how to start animating these things. webm related is from scratch
that's kind of autistic, mate. Just look at what is being downloaded. Discard if it has wrappershit like your article is talking about.
your computer isn't going to get leet hacked or some shit as long as you pay attention to what you are doing.
Please please please someone give me the song name in this
I came across this linked from kraut a couple of months ago and I've been trying to ask people about it since. Please. Would be fantastic if I could find an hour-long album of this kind of music to relax to.
You posted this in the previous thread.
Like I said then, I like the musical choice but I feel the image doesn't quite fit. Maybe gondola is too big. Maybe its not enough magical shit going on.
I can see the vision of what you tried for, and I can appreciate it for that. But something is off and it doesn't quite work.
look at the shading on the back of the tree, it isn't as bright and vibrant as your gondola, rather it is silhouetted.
A gondola needs to have a place and be a part of his environment.
(also try and wait at least one thread before reposting your own oc. The more oc the better.)
Rate my first attempt at gondola
I thought it would play along nicely with the general theme and the vibe of gondola
It was actually killed in November, and the creator of /r/gondola on reddit actually admitted that he came to /int/ solely to collect them. I know that you think reddit is some sort of boogeyman, but they are actually ruining this site by exploiting it and exposing it to mainstream media. Now fuck off back to your shitty website and leave us alone.
hmm I wonder how we could help someone use ffmpeg who doesn't know how to use it
wouldn't it be crazy of someone made some sort of user interface making use of easy to understand graphics?
Everybody has their own way 2bh. For me I make an animated gif on gimp then convert it to avi using online cloud converters so It can be used in windows movie maker. Then I edit the sound using audacity and add effects to get right feel. After that I combine everything in movie maker and save it as an mp4. Last, I convert from mp4 to webm using another cloud converter and post it here.
I wasn't really gonna make one because my editing skills are shit, but since I've saved almost all of the WEBMs here, I thought it'd be good to give it a try and pay you guys back for some amazing OCs. Hope you enjoy.
Alright, this is 100% OC. Including music and ambient sounds (self recorded). I hope you like it.
just made this with an hour in paint and after effects.
Holy shit how do you guys do these? anyways, here is my pro shit
