Perfection

I went into it expecting to be trash, like everything from Sci-Fi network after they changed their name. But I've watched all 4 episodes so far and just want the next one to fucking air already.
Never read the books, but now I've got them on my list.

The space scenes are good but the whole plot seems ham-fisted. And the detective with the fedora is too much.
More zero-G sex would be nice.
>>885981
The plot is ham fisted because of the way that it is being introduced in the show, they are introducing characters way to early and giving no explanation of them being there. As for the fedora, it was supposed to be a porkpie, but i guess they thought that would look worse. In the books, some shit is introduced way later, and it makes it flow a lot better. They should have focused more on holden, and less on the earth government. As it stands right now, miller is the main character in the TV series, while holden is the main character in the books.
>>886004
I figured the books would be better, that's usually how this goes. I'm just here for the space porn and regular porn, anyway.
>>886324
>on my mark
Did he forget to say "mark"? That's literally what is supposed to happen in reality. When were they supposed to do it? The guy in the background is toggling shit in the middle of him saying "blow".

I listened to the audio books on my way to work and the series is being pretty true to them so far, except for Millers partner getting pinned to the wall, I don't remember that happening in the book.

>>890731
What a fantastic fucking series.
I get really choked up thinking about em.
>>891815
Only the older version from dvd era were the ones with the stupid black bars at the top and bottom of the screen that cut off half the picture. The newer version fixed that.

Wondering if there are any edits from Foxcatcher where Steve Carrell says "Do you have a problem with me?"
But instead edited to say

Longshot, but who knows.

I made the very first one of these threads when they'd just added audio webm support here almost a full year ago, and I have to say this:
Can you please _not_ start every Movies & TV thread with yet another webm from the same fucking TV show? Every month, it's another new TV & movies thread starting with yet another lame Person of Interest webm - and always with a shitty blank or bland thumbnail.
The OP webm is supposed to be attention grabbing or worthy of at least some discussion, and yet you'll notice that *nobody* ever quotes your OPs because nobody seems to give two shits about Person of Interest.
We get it. It's your favorite show. But no single series/movie deserves to be the poster child for every goddamn TV & Movies w/ Audio thread.
Next time let someone else make the OP for a change, or at least contain this shit to some "crime drama webm general" thread if you feel there absolutely must be a Person of Interest webm in the catalog at all times. Fuck.
>>892230
>*nobody* ever quotes your OPs
Well, comparatively. Those few that do rarely actually have anything interesting to say about them
>>892240
This viral video was better than the whole Prometheus movie. First time I saw it I got so hyped.
I love androids in the Alien universe because they're actually realistic. They will never "evolve" free will or negative human characteristics simply because such behaviors were never programmed into them. They will never unite together into a machine nation and start a machine rebellion because they would never have the desire to. They cannot actually feel emotions, but they can pretend to (if only to make the humans around them feel more comfortable.)
David is like a Chat-bot AI (but a million-times more advanced) with its own synthetic body. He merely mimics human behavior to fit-in; deep down "he" is just a construct, like any other program.
>>892170
It will be a very long time before any show comes along with better cinematography than Hannibal.

Ironclad(2011) Most of the inner castle shots were filmed a few miles away, im surprised as to how well they could blend other places into one film
I still don't agree with us being split between here and /tv/.
But, I have a drive full of stuff to be weebed - so getting back into the swing of things with 1 tonight, an I'll Leftovers the shit out of /tv/ at the weekend.

that looked like it wasn't even 10KT, should've gone with something bigger like a 25MT bomb
>>894968
That's the whole point of tactical nukes though, to limit the damage. Plus 25MT bombs don't even exist anymore and could never be fired in such a way.
>>894971
they formally don't exist anymore
>>894972
True, they at least don't exist in any current nuclear arsenal.
>>891846
how is a nuke supposed to detonate AFTER its hit the side of the ship and blown into a million pieces?

Did you find one of the lowest framerate copies of The Rock to webm one of the best scenes in moviedom? Seriously did you go out looking for it and go 'you know what, I'll make a 2.36mb 632x356 low frame rate out of sync webm of it because LOL TROLLLLLLZ' ?
If thats what you did well played because I'm God damn triggered.
>>891823
see
>>895328
>>895350
The fuck are you talking about anon? The Rock webm is fine. The framerate is film standard 23.97.
>>895448
The webms are yes, I doubt very much from looking at them whether the source was.
>>886270
She's so pretty in that movie.
I didn't really know what to make of No Escape. Anyway there looks to be issues with webm threads on /tv/, which is curious
>>895819
what issues?
>>895350
Yes, God forbid an improper framerate impede your absorption of that great cinematic masterpiece thirty seconds at a time.
>>895838
Theres 4 of them and they're all 404ed while being on the index.
Which is a little odd.
>>895845
This was an issue that was mentioned at the time of the spilt to /wsg/.
If you're going to do a shitty job at something that can be done better (there are situations where you can only lay hands on a bad quality source), just don't bother.
It's like people who leave rogue frames in.
Fuck those people.

No.
tl;dr: too long, 30 seconds or less is the best.
I can make MULTIPLE audio webms of the opening sequence, but it's way too long to make one good webm of it (with or without the audio).
One single decent quality webm with audio at 4MB needs to be less than 30 seconds long. Even when the video encoder is set to two pass, 800K.
You may be a failure a life, but I doubt anyone here fails as hard as being a shitty gangster who fumbles his gun while goons take shots at his dad.

If I remember correctly they were testing new possible robocops, the one before this one shot the scientist (which is why he has the cast) and then shot himself in the head.

your a factual retard then, holden is the captain from the get go, they dont fly through the debris field of the cant because the fucking torch engine they have is incredibly fast but not epstien fast, holden doesnt retardedly suggest they follow a fucking stealth cruiser with fucking thermonuclear warheads and a targeting laser powerful enough it would be considered a laser weapon in the 21st century, miller is much much more of a loser, nothing at all happens to the earther, he fucking leave before shit gets hot because hes not a moron.
when scifi said "we sat down with the book writers" they meant "we sat down and told the book writers exactly how were going to buttfuck their books for money and they cant say no because we have way more cash".
The show has fucked up all the details, its a facsimile that looks like the books if you don't look to hard but if you so much as scratch the surface it all falls apart, and as someone whose read all the books multiple times i see no way they can reconcile this start into the events that unfold later without hamfisting the shit out of it.
>>885981
the show is garbage, the books are excellent and engaging. with enough description of the tech but not to much and good writing all round.
>>885981
>zero-g sex
more attractive then it factually is, its pretty hard to fuck another human in zero g, mostly because every action you take to thrust would move you farther apart from eachother, and the expanse is a semi-hard scifi series.
>>895328
>its great
the books are great, the show is a fucking mess of plot elements from books one and 2 showing up in the same episodes.
fucking avasarala doesnt show up in the first book ever, and the first book takes up like 2 years of time.
not to mention the "stealth ship technology" shit isnt even a thing in the book, no fucking OPA shit eater has stolen mars stealth tech.
since you a fuckhead im just going to spell it out, the stealth ship is shadow earth shit run by nyugen and company
>>885814
>actually decent
the first episode was great, spot on, episode 2 and onward was fucking total trash and had elements from characters who arnt even in the game yet showing up.

>>903644
I agree, everyone I introduced it to hated it, but after a second or third try OR if they'd actually read the comics they really started getting into it
