I use Ant video downloader. I first set the size I want to use, like 1080p or 144p in youtube then download the file in the Ant plugin. You can usually determine which version it is by the file size as it will only list the files sizes of videos you've started watching. So, if youtube defaults to say 340p and you ramp it up to 1080p it will have 2 files listed in the Ant plugin dropdown menu.

After that I use "WebM for Gits" to convert it how ever I like.

When I want to put video to music from two sources I just open them both in MPC-HC start playing and record the video side with Fraps then use WebM for Gits to convert it.

Cool. the "WebM for Gits" is good for that. Sometimes inputting 3.99 will result in 4.00 and 4chan won't accept it so you have to use 3.9 instead. There's also one where it tells you in the converter "ERROR audio bit rate is too high, no video will fit with that file size" or similar wording. I tried Handbreak and that didn't help so I had to re-record it using Fraps for almost 5 mins to get it right.

Took me FOREVER to get this one in this quality for "WebM for Gits" and 4chan to both accept it.

first up: learn the difference between MB an MiB. a Megabyte is 1.000.000 byte, since Mega is an SI prefix, which are all base of 1.000. a Mebibyte is 1.048.576 bytes, since Mebi is a binary prefix with a base of 1.024.

now, the difficulty is, nobody cares much about correct prefixes. 4chan and windows explorer *say* "MB", but *mean* "MiB". Linux says "MB" and means "MB". HDD manufacturers do as well, which is why your shiny 1 TB disk registers as a 931 "GB" disk in Windows (actually: 931 GiB). FFmpeg also correctly distinguishes between SI and binary prefixes.

4chan's limit for /wsg/ is 4 MiB, which, to be honest i've never tested to the byte (and i wouldn't know how to exactly reach it anyway - with encoding and overhead there's always a bit more that goes on top - so i usually encode for 4.090 KiB). i've uploaded 4.095 KiB though and it worked.

The problem here is 4chan won't allow uploads of some files which are below the limit. I've even had it not upload files that are 3.99MB. I used movie maker to make the loop then converted it to a webm using XMedia Recode. I literally had no idea what I was doing, just followed a buncha Youtube tutorials on how to make a basic WebM. I'm just glad that I was able to shrink it down to something just under 4 MB. Also, how did you manage to keep the vid at such high quality when it's in fullscreen?

"WebM for Gits". In that program I checked the box for audio and set the filesize to 3.98 or 3.89 and started the conversion. That was it.

Because the video is only 31 seconds long, the file size can be as large as it needs for higher quality. The longer the video it the worse the "WebM for Gits" program will make the quality until it runs out of file space within the 3.98MB limit at which point it cuts off the rest of the video.

Sometimes, when you are making a video that has only 1FPS because it is a single still image the 3.98MB filesize limit will allow the movie to be over /wsg/'s 5 minute limit. If that happens, you need to use the "Trim" tab to cut it down to like 4:59 and try again.
