Dude the animation looks worse, there's a fuckload of interpolation artefacts, and they're only made worse since Jojo jumps between using twos and threes for its animation, making it insanely hard for for SVP to calculate new frames.

Seriously, most of the time SVP just makes shows look worse. Sure it's "smoother", but the fluidity of the animation is inconsistent as movement eases in and out of motions in an unnatural manner. I can guarantee you that there is no animator who would think that SVP improves scenes.

There's more to smooth animation than just higher framerates, and SVP does nothing but fuck up all the other techniques animators use in their works.

Yeah i know, sorry about that. Couldn't really bother to re-recorde it while having MadVR running instead of SVP so yeah.

Because personally i prefer a smother image over the default 14-15 FPS animation anime sadly has since I'm highly used to HFR.
And outside of the artefacts i sadly can't tell what you mean by the slowing down and such since i haven't noticed it so far.

It's to do with the how the animators ease movement from slow to fast during a scene, very rarely does an object (yet alone a person iceskating) simply move at a constant speed and stop on a dime in anime. Interpolation software often fucks this up since it often incorrectly calculates at what point where the movement is supposed to slow down or speed up, leading to the motion seeming off.

I saw it quite a bit with that Yuri on Ice scene, If you haven't seen the scene before you interpolated it I can see why you'd miss it, but he fluidity seemed really unnatural, even if it was smoother. Plus I really hate that shitty aura of the background shimmering around the characters.

But in general i'm not an advocate for these forced 60FPS interpolations, it ruins the artistry of the animation for me. It's a little like going to a fine dining restaurant and ordering their finest steak, only to douse the entire thing in ketchup.

It's a neat novelty don't get me wrong, but it's a little baffling that people choose to watch anime like that all the time.

Oh, and I just want to add that anime that rely on quick, springy animation are absolutely awful with frame interpolation. They're really bad for getting artefacts.

I wil admit that SVP actually works pretty well with live action stuff. But that's because they lack the sorta shit anime has that causes the fuck ups in the first place, and because they have at least twice the FPS which gives the interpolation programs more data to work with.

Valvrave was absolutely fantastic.
It's a true shame nothing has really matched it in its absurdity since it aired. Cross Ange kind of tried, but it was a bit too rooted in fantasy where Valvrave stuck around sci-fi, which helped it a lot.
Hopefully R3 won't disappoint.

I just grab time stamps as a I watch, then input them into ffmpeg. Its simple.
Webm for retards requires other dependencies such as .NET Framework 4.5 in order to run which is bloat. Plain ffmpeg is enough.
