Holy. Living. Shit.
What is this?
A DESKTOP THREAD!
YOU GET TO POST YOUR STUFF, ASK FOR SAUCE, AND CALL OTHERS CLONES!
Besides general autism.
~LE BOTNET MAYMAY XD http://nanami-tan.info
~LE MUH SAFETY AND FREEDOM, LEARN HOW2CODE CASUAL XD https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/GNU/Linux_Ricing
and here's the last one
A thread for desktops? Gross, that will never catch on.
Remember when I was good at desktops and made things weekly? I don't!
What do you want to know?
How have you set the colors for dmenu_run? I can't seem to figure it out. I know that I should be able to use #RGB and #RRGGBB after -nb or whatever, but I can't seem to get it to work. I always get errors saying it can't allocate colors.
I was really hoping you didn't add in the last part, but thanks!
Someone give me ideas for a desktop
i updated this css in case anyone still uses it
Windows 10 is pretty nice tbqh, will be a lot better when I can get Style Builder to work for it.
Windows Fag here.
Should I get Linux? Quite tempting.
I'd like to use this, but images don't expand to the full body of the browser on hover. There's also issues loading the catalog, occasionally the header will read every thread title at once and layer them on top of one another. There's some margins set for .board and .body that aren't being used/redundant as well.
You also just have an image for your 4chan x settings, why don't you just export the json and upload it to git as "recommended settings" instead?
The thread watcher also overlaps a lot of quoted posts, making it really impractical when using your browser at smaller resolutions.
here's an example of how it images expand a bit more with the onee-chan setup i use, the header is so large on the side that it really detracts from a lot of space. if there was anyway the header actually did collapse/autohide then i'd consider working on it more.
that yotsuba is so best
>janitor in /g/ thread is getting anyone who posts Love Live! banned
My fucking sides.
Anyways, I guess I can't post there for 24 hours, so here's my desktop. Showing icons just for you goys, sorry I don't have an anime wallpaper currently but this was too good.
Keep the struggle alive.
Nothing, it's there for aesthetic purposes, referencing lain
pretty sure even though I dont watch the anime, Love Live! is the best thing to happen to PVC in forever so anyone that dislikes it is objectively wrong.
can't say its too /g/ related though. youre welcome here
Ubuntu confirmed for in bed with Yuuji, who is actually a Janitor. >>1872571 This too.
Anyways, let's drop it instead of dragging our dirty laundry to another board, that's just rude. Share your desktops, we can be friends here.
Oh I know, I technically deserved it because I was breaking Rule 1, it's just funny to see it only applied to a handful of posters, and I'm sad because I didn't get to share my desktop right after.
>I didn't even point out anyone.
I'm aware, but you did reply to me, so I replied to you. Specifically what made me respond was
>They're banning off topic shitposting
I just wanted to be clear I only made the one, wasn't saying you were calling me out or anything if that's what was implied.
I hadn't confirmed bblean or mactype, but gdipp definitely was not WAI. There's a lot of potential with win10, unfortunately I'm relatively new to this so I have no idea how to access it.
It definitely does, the programs I mentioned plus just going through all of W10's settings is a good start.
That broke the sys32 files for me, I used this method and it worked: http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70555-Uxstyle-and-Theme-Signature-Bypass-for-Windows-10-TH2-AKA-1511-AKA-10586
Didn't break mine, but I apologize if it gave you any grief.
Time to relearn how2bblean, how does my font rendering look?
installed mactype and tweaked with it a bit.
Better? I think it's better, but I don't know what looks "good."
It's a known bug with at least 10 years of age. All they did was sending me a copy paste of the first page they sent when you have a problem and ask me if the problem was solved.
Steam for Linux has only been out a couple years, how could it have a 10 year old bug?
Also when they say "steam for Linux" they really mean "steam for ubuntu, and you can maybe install it on other distros if you can get it to work"
I am originally from /a/ and ricing brought me to /w/ and then to /g/
7 hours and you'll be rid of me, hang in there senpai.
I've used Steam on Mint with no issues, pebcak?
Steam support is notoriously worse than even EA/Origin
What region do you have set for downloading? Sometimes those servers simply don't work and changing it to say, Ukraine, will make it work. A little digging also suggested adding a free game to your library for some reason.
No matter what combination I tried the fonts were still cut off, it's definitely in my css but I don't know what could be specifically causing that. Going to need to tinker with padding and shit, maybe just get a new one. Meant to thank you for the help last night but
>MySQL connection error
Hiroshima killed the posting server, so thanks for the help.
I've been trying to find it, I'm half convinced Ubuntu bought a figurine and took a picture of her in the grass. I can find a million similar images of yotsuba umbrella figure in the grass, but not that specific one.
The more things change the more they stay the same.
Getting the hang of things.
Still looking for a nice firefox font for tabs and navbar.
I took a break from Linux for a while due to college and shit, so I managed to forget a lot of general knowledge (woops)
Any anon mind telling me the proper spoonfed way to install Ahoviewer using the make commands? I managed to forget almost everything.
>full instructions on the page
You're not spoonfeeding me and I did Google ahoviewer.
time to attention whore until I feel better about things
._.) i dont know what im doing.
blurred rainmeter because is a mix of spanish/english, have not found yet an english rainmeter that meets my requeriments.
censored pic because we are on /w/
ur doin it wrong
use launchy/find and run robot
Lenovo X200 , with new arch linux install.
Has anyone had a problem of fonts not changing in W10 Visual Styles? They look fine in Style Builder but go back to default when it's saved.
Your taskbar is an absolute mess, and you really don't need the quicklaunch with the taskbar and right click menu.
I like the Rainmeter.
My god fix your fonts.
Shush you, it really doesn't matter.
Thanks, I'm using code from this http://fav.me/d82jw9z
I figured if i have 12gb of anime pics i might as well cycle the images some how
the images are out of my control :/
i never use boards.4chan.org/w/ and use the actual catalog boards.4chan.org/w/catalog so I never thought about that.
I know it's because i'm just making all the .subject's fixed to the header bar but i'm not sure how to make it not do that on the main board page...
my only fix for that is to use catalog links but that's more of a workaround
there's lots of stuff that is redundant, there's probably a thousand !important's that are unneeded as well but I'm too lazy to clean it up
I'll go do that
i thought i fixed the thread watcher thing but i'll go do that now
shift+h hides the side bar
Haven't been on /w/ in a while. How's the Desktop Thread been?
Finally decided to switch teams.
Also,a while back I gave someone my appchan x theme; does anyone still have that? I accidentally lost it when uninstalling firefox.
if you go to the official forums, there's a specific section for relating bugs on the installer.
I've had several bugs in my first installation that were already reported several times on the forums.
I've installed it twice using the minimal iso with no problems, but I tried again one more time with the live iso and I had problems.
Might as well take the time to learn how to install Arch rather than spend it troubleshooting Antergos' installation desu
what is a vs and css?
"in the OP"? what does this mean?
where do beginners go to learn about all of this?
i literally see nothing but jibberish and confusion when these threads pop up. you guys keep saying how amazing some of these desktops are but what they're doing is a mystery to me.
so if i use windows, https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/GNU/Linux_ricing is useless to me i suppose becuase linux is a totally different operating system. ill give http://pastebin.com/raw/mtgSWp42 a read
Look, a desktop in the borderline abandoned thread!
this was a cringe fest
the purpose of the desktop thread is not just spam your desktop over and over again in the same fashion every fucking thread and shitpost just like /g/ does, but instead promote interesting discussion and sharing.
fucking neckbeards s m h
my desktop is just so good it counts as interesting discussion.
my first one any tips? im runnin ubuntu with the gnome 3 shell
So, I installed Linux recently. I'm pretty happy with a result because my whole life I thought that Linux is ugly
How different is it when it comes to ricing? Is it any easier or harder then 7? I really don't want to bother trying if I still have to use file replacements (explorer.exe, et cetera).
